"Are we driving a Formula 1... or a monster truck?"

The worst point on this game is: it's on 1998 season. But this will be fast forgotten and enjoy this game. There are better Formula 1 options on the market, but this is worth buying.

Graphics-7/10

Not bad at all, the graphics are overly good, and the plain of the tracks is great. It looks like you're driving in the reality, but not too much. Well, what could we expect for the first formula 1 game on Dreamcast? Nothing better, surely.

Gameplay-4/10

That's why I compare these Formula 1 to monster trucks. On Grand Prix 3, if you give a light smash to the opponent's back, he will be out of his rear wheels, but here, you must smack yourself about a thousand times at 300 km/h if you want to break you front wing. Well, outside of this, the controls are pretty good, and the funny broadcasting, for example, when you go out the track he says ''Try driving on the track'' when you smash against a opponent ''The brakes are there to use!'' helps you getting involved on this game. Don't forget, concentrate like on the other racing games, specially if you don't have the brakes help enabled.

Story-NONE

Formula 1 real season, where's the story? You race and try to win the championship, where's the new thing? All the Formula 1 games are like this, but what the hell, this is a Formula 1 simulation!

Audio-9/10

OK, the car sounds are good, pretty real, and the music on the menus are worth listening, and the broadcasting is totally great. It won't let you lose something of what happens on the back of the track. But don't forget that the music is only a small importance on racing games.

Video-10/10

The intro is totally great. The cars fading into others and the precision of the sponsors, including the colors and the smallest. See the intro and you will not get illuded. The podium is great, too. The sponsors on the outfits are greatly detailed but there is a lack: ''Yay! I got to the podium with a simple Minardi! I don't believe it! But... what's that? Who's that Stewart outfit driver instead of my little Minardi?''. My brother hates the game because of it.

Replay ability-8/10

Well, OK, this is a simple racing game, but a Formula 1 game has always 17 tracks to explore to master and 11 teams to find the differences and find out who's the better! And 22 drivers, with the true (at that moment) profiles and good photos, including the car symbols.

Buy or rent?

Buy this game. The replay ability is good, and the Formula 1 world is good to explore. The tracks are too much with the true names of the turns and so much drivers and teams... that's a pity that the Canadian driver hasn't his name there... Williams Driver isn't a fashionable name. But, who cares? Play without him!

A normal racing game, without special effects, good to formula 1 lovers.
