Jeremy McGrath Supercross 2000
Review by FLEABttn
"Wow, motocross Jeremy McGrath style sucks..."
Presentation: 6/10
Not too bad. Has all the basic menus that you would need. You get to choose the different bikers, and the CC of the bike. When you get to the level selection menu, you get to see the layout of the track before you play it. It also tells you if it is an indoor or outdoor track. The menus aren't pretty, but they get the job done.
Graphics: 2/10
Horrible. Just horrible. It looks like a N64 game, and the frame rate is just atrocious. We're talking 10 or 15 fps, with unexpected jumps to 60 fps at any given time. Seriously, the frame rate is less stable than Windows. The characters looks really stiff too. They don't really look that real. The textures appear to be stretched and they are blurry too.
Sound: 4/10
The sound effects aren't that great. The engine that you hear sounds like one of a go-ped. The dirt doesn't sound like anything I've heard before. It's not dirt, but it's not really anything else either. The music is decent though. I believe I heard the Offspring in there. You'd probably like it if you are into rock.
Game play: 3/10
Not much here. A lot of levels, but they get repetitive. The physics engine is really messed up though. The bike seems to float into the air, and them come crashing down to the ground like someone turned on the gravity halfway through the jump. Also, have the programmers forgotten what a brake is for? You never use it. When you need to slow down, you just have to release the gas ever so slightly, but it's basically petal to the metal the entire time, even in u-turns. And let's not forget the camera angle. It's horrible. You go up a hill, but you can't see in front of you. So when you get to the top, you crash into the wall because you can't see where you're going.
Lasting Appeal: 2/10
After you beat the game, the only point in playing it again is the track designer, where you can make your own tracks, but even this gets dull after a while because of how limiting it is.
Buy or Rent:
Neither. Save your money and the precious minutes in your life and don't even play this game.
