"So we want our kids to be truck drivers?"

Walking in to Blockbuster I was looking for s good game for Dreamcast..(there arent many). Seeing a game called '18 Wheeler' I decided eh what the hell, it looks fun. Boy was I wrong.

Let's start out with a positive point, the graphics. Powered by the Dreamcast's smooth polygons, this game looks very nice. With very few breakups or slow-downs this game showed what the Dreamcast was made of. From moving parafonalia on the dashboard to reflections in the metal of the trucks, 18 Wheeler, proved to be a contender for graphics.

-=Sound=-
Rating-8/10
Ok. If you like the sound of Trucks and honking then this is your game, although I would suggest moving next to a highway. I can't totally put it down, the sound was very fitting and you actually felt like you were in the middle of a um..truck..race...hmm. The radio style music will keep little kids entertained and maybe will even spark some thought of your own. Overall sound is definately not this games problem.

-=Gameplay=-
Rating-1/10
Uh oh. The most important part of a game is the Gameplay. When theres a lack of Gameplay..thats a problem. Now it is a racing game, it's sort of innovative. Thats why it got 1 point. Arent racing games supposed to be a race? This is more of a ''shipping'' delivery. For some reason you race, and for some reason it takes about 5 minutes to get from New York to Miami. Also there is no skill involved. I'm not that good at racing games but playing against my 4 yr old nephew and losing half the time is kind of odd. Considering he just barrels into trees. You have no clue what you did in the race, or how to improve. You will meet up with Tornadoes and Aliens, non of which even affect you. This not being the worst of it you will soon find that after four confusing and un-rewarding levels the game is...what? ITS OVER??? Already? I just got it today...''But wait'' the game retorts.''There's more, I have a menu called 'extras'''. Well theres not much to be said for that, if you like parking than you'll have fun.

-=Replayablity=-
Rating-0/10
After playing and somehow beating it, this game soon found itself at the local Funcoland. If you do replay this game it might only be to show off the graphics to a PSX fan, but thats it.

-=Rent or Buy=-
If you bought this game pray to god you have the receipt. Hell, dont even rent it. Just stay as far away from it as you can.

-=Overall=-
Rating-3/10
If you havent been reading the top. DONT GET WITHIN 30 KILOMOTRES OF THIS GAME. If you want a racing game, or a car game go for Crazy Taxi 1/2, Grand Tursimo 3, and even NFS.
