"Better than the PS2 version"

If any of you are still wondering, I still don't have a PS2. Why? because I'm broke. So, the highest powered system I own is the DC. Anyway, at my local goodwill store, I found a used copy of UT for DC for 15$. Thinking that it was donated by some angry parent, I decided to to pick it up. I had some fun with the PS2 version of UT, but it still wasn't half as good as Timesplitters or the newer Red Faction. So, I got it, and I was impressed. This version of UT is better than it's PS2 counterpart, but it still falls short of it's original PC counterpart.

What I like about this UT version more than the PS2 one is that it's much easier to control. The controls are easier to get used to and it's more playable then it is on the PS2. The multiplayer also runs surprisingly smoother on the DC then it does on the PS2. There is no slowdown, and there are more arenas on the DC.

Also what is good is that there is a new lock on feature in this version that was not in the PS2. This new feature aims your gun right in front of your enemy. Very, very useful feature, this adds to more playability.

Anyway, even though there are some improvements in this version of UT, it still has it's flaws. One thing is that it still lacks the original Unreal single player. This adds to a lousy no depth single player, which is composed of deathmatch after deathmatch. It's not much fun alone, but then again, no deathmatch is.

However, the multiplayer is still there, and that's where UT shines like gold. The multiplayer is intense fun, and you'll be fragging your friends for hours. The best thing is since this version of UT is it's more playable then the PS2 one, it's easier to play, and just overall more fun. I haven't gotten tired of this version yet, when i got tired of the PS2 version in about a week.

Anyway, the PS2 version does have some advantages. One is that the graphics and sound is better on the PS2. This dosen't really matter to me though. The DC version is more playable, and that's why you should pick up the DC version when you are wondering which one to get. It's also probably cheaper too.

So, in all, the DC version is great fun. Better and more playable then the PS2 version, and with the new lock on mode, it's more playable then ever. Pick this up and frag your buddies tonight.
