"This game is the most fun i have had in a while!!!"

Heavy Metal Geomatrix has been a long time waiting. I remember personally asking about a release nearly every time i went online or visited a game store... and all i ever heard was that it was delayed nearly every time. Finally a few days ago i got it and went berzerk.
Being a fan of Virtual On OT, I find this to be a really interesting twist on the genre.. I like the gameplay here alot more cause you can use plenty of weapons and even engage in melee combat (this is more fun than you can imagine).
The Music is AWSOME! I am a hard rock fan and i imagine anyone picking up a copy of a game called 'Heavy Metal' should probably be too! Megadeth, Halford and CoC headline the CD and it is really fitting with the character designs and with the overall theme of the game.
The graphics, even though they do use the SPAWN engine, are much improved, the characters are bigger, really detailed and have much of thier own personality. (Kevin Eastman's wife, Julie Strain even makes an appearance as Di in this one and is really one of the best characters in there)
The game itself has three basic modes... first there is the arcade mode that lets you battle opponents in arenas on a one to one, one to two, two to one or two to two basis, depending on your progress and availability of friends.
It gets hard and unforgiving when you have to deal with being outnumbered.. and the AI is not lacking, they do know how to ambush you and make you tear your hair out.
There is the versus mode... enuff said.
and there is the chaosmatrix mode where you have certain missions to accomplish that either involve killing everyone on the stage, picking up items and getting out or just getting the items and dodging everyone to get out of there.
The absence of a four player option is a bit of a downside, but i thought that when i played quake III four player, the graphics went horrible and it got tired quick.. i like the idea of it being mano a mano... a bit more competitive.

so here is the numbers
Graphics 10:- Much better than many games out there for the system... the camera angles have been fixed and the character designs are awsome.. the women in this game are all built just right.. win with either slash or Di and watch their victory poses and you will know what i mean.
The backrounds and stage design arent all that shabby either.

Sound 10:- If you like hard rock, then welcome home. If you are more of a techno/rap person, then i am affraid you shall enjoy the fact that you can switch the music off...
the characters do get a little too repetitive in their victory poses, but it is well done...

Gameplay 9:- This is fun. If you have a large party of people taking turns, then you will have a blast, and going through the games arcade option while doing the tag thing is really fun.. but no bosses, no extras... that does get to you in a bit.. but you paid 20 bucks!!! it is what you paid for... and a little more!!

Replay value 8:- When you have done all there is to do, you are probably not going to play it all that much... especially the chaos matrix section.. except if you are the type to try to beat your times and get faster without getting hurt.. otherwise, you will probably only bear this beauty when you have company and you realize how cheezy the characters in powerstone 2 are.
