Silver

Review by DePurple182

"Not Your Average RPG"

Basic Story Line (Not a story spoiler)

Most people don't consider this to be a true RPG because it's not turn based. Well, I think it is a true RPG in the sense that RPG stands for ''Role-Playing Game.'' You play the ROLE (ahem) of David, a hot-headed little bad ass, who is hell bent on avenging his father. Then, a guy named Fuge shows up who cops his wife and kills his grandfather. A serious prick huh? Well, David sets out for some retribution. He joins some rebels who are trying to stop Silver, your classic evil wizard with many underling henchmen (who really seem to be weak as hell), and bring calm and peace to the world of Jarrah. The rebels are led by the Duke (that's it, that's his name) and his close friend William. The story is really captivating and the game come packed with baddies and goodies for you to meet, with plenty of ways to dispose of the former.

Good Points

I really like this game and think it is severely underrated. I believe this to be better than most RPGs on the DC. Save the golden few like Skies of Arcadia and others. I really think this was better than the first Evolution and E.G.G. (which turned out to be a disappointment to me). But don't get me wrong, they both had their strong points, I just found this game more enthralling.

Bad Points

Yes, yes, I know, I know, what bad could I say about this game I seem to be infatuated with? I really thought the backgrounds could have had more detail. Some may say (WHAT THE HELL?! THE BACKGROUNDS WERE THE BEST PART!), but really, can you see any of the statues' faces? No. Bushes look dull and lifeless. And the fire seems slow and doesn't give off enough light. However, the water was very well done in my opinion. The gentle trickling sounds of the rivers or the sludgy, thick sounds of the sewer seem to be quite realistic in my view.

All in All

All in All this game is quite good and I believe people should be more open-minded about what the do and don't call RPGs. I stand by my 8/10. Also, this game is a very, very good buy at only $14.95 (I bought mine at Media Play), considering it was so fun.

Goodbye and have fun with Silver.
