Unreal Tournament
Review by vgerx2001
"Time to have a fraggilicious good time on DC!"
This is the best dreamcast game i ever played, along with Marvel vs. Capcom 2 for dreamcast, and i still yet have to experience the online mode. Hands down, if you want a party game worthy of entertaining you and your friends for hours, then it should be Unreal Tournament. Unless you're a first person shooter fanatic who only plays for a award winning story, then this should be on your to buy list!
Story-5/10
The story doesn't get any kudos but there is a plot, try to frag yourself up the rankings and claim the crown of the top fragger yourself. Sure it's not a good plot, but's it's Unreal Tournament, the game is fun in it's own way.
Graphics-9/10
Sweet! They sure are eye-candy. And the game rarely slows down with this candy-eye intact. Prepare to be blown away on all(Well most) aspects of the game.
Sound-9/10
The sound of the guns firing and the trash talk could not get any better. It is pretty satisfying
Controls-10/10
For me, this is the flawless part in the game. No matter if you're playing on controller or keyboard, the game controls flawlessly. I moved smootly and fragged my way onto the ranks just using the DreamCast controller. Of course, i can't afford to recommend you to play the game on controller only because the game would feel incomfortable to you and send me hate mail. So i suggest you also buy a keyboard with this game just to be safe. It was fine for me playing with control though.
GamePlay-10/10
The Single Player is cool, but when it ends, you might wanna launch onto endless replay mode. Which stands for: a)Get one or three of your friends b)Get any more controllers if you need c)start the game d)have a good time fragging your friends in tons of levels and modifications. The game just can't get better! You can also play online over at SegaNet, which is free but i don't know if it's temporally or permanently, so hurry!
Pros.
Eye-Candy
The sounds and music and trash-talking
The flawless controls
The endless multiplayer replay
The fact this version has online mode and the PS2 version doesn't
Cons.
Those looking for a Half-Life killer story
Buy or Rent:
Buy! Buy! Buy! This game is worth every penny, especially for the multiplayer mode and the online mode. You will have a fraggilicious good time. And i guarantee it. Unfortunately, if you're looking for a story to match Half-Life, you will have to look elsewhere, since UT is a strict party game, but as it proves, it's one of the best Dreamcast games ever.
