Bomberman Online

"This is one of the best games out on Dreamcast"

PRESENTATION
The Presentation is very nicely done, The cartoony look to it fits really well and the menus are very clean.. Not to mention the anime intro is pretty cool.

GRAPHICS
The Graphics in this game are very very nicely done. The Cel Shaded look fits the game very well and the backgrounds are very nicely done.

SOUND
The music is very good, althou sometimes the little voices when you get a powerup can be a little annoying the sound effects are really done well..

GAMEPLAY
All of the old stuff is here. Hudsonsoft has also done a very good job with adding to the old gameplay in Bomberman Online with different gameplay types including Survival, Panel Paint, Hyper Bomber, Submarine and Ring Match.

In Survival(classic) mode, the objective is to blow up your opponents.

In Panel Paint mode, you have to blow up the tiles on the floor to paint them with your players assigned paint color and whichever character has the most tiles painted with theyre color wins but if a character gets blown up in a match all of his tiles get destroyed so you have to be careful.

In Hyperbomber mode, the objective is to get 3 orbs and go to a spot in order to blow up all the other players.

In Submarine mode, the objective is to kill the other player(or team). But this is completely new. There are 2 sides of the playfeild. When you drop your bomb it starts to tick and it goes to the identical position on your opponents side and if you have a bomb placed down when your opponents goes to your side it goes back to theres.

In Ring Match rule, the objective is to get a higher score within a given time by blowing up your opponents.

There are 4 modes in Bomberman Online. Normal Game, Battle Game, Network and Extras Box.

In Normal Game you play through a story type mode with many different challenges and there are secrets to unlock in each.

In Battle Game, you can play any type of game you want one to upto four players.

In Network(My Favorite), you can chat in lobbies and play with upto 8 people online at a time in either survival or hyperbomber game type. Also the Network mode gives you a chance to show off your character which you got pieces from achieving tasks in Normal Mode.
Its really fun to whoop somebodies ass on other side of the World ;D

In Extras Box, you can create your own Bomberman Character to use online. You could modify his eyes, head, upper body and lower body. New selections of parts are achieved by completing tasks in Normal Mode. You could also assign your character a name and see how many parts you have unlocked through the Collection Panel.

LASTABILITY
I doubt you would ever get tired of this game quickly. The one player mode alone will have you playing for about 2 weeks.. and there are tons of secrets to unlock too if you think you could handle the challenge of completing the tasks on the Levels in Normal Mode. And with online mode and creating your own character, you will never stop playing this game.

OVERALL
If you have a Dreamcast, you must have this game. Its one of the best of the Bomberman Series.. and Theres nothing quite like the 8 player online mode ;D
