Metropolis Street Racer

"Just like the name says, you will be racing in real cities !!!"

INTRODUCTION
Metropolis Street Racer or MSR is one of the best race simulators ever, but with a different proposal: you will have to show up your driver skills and style and not your speed. Unlike Gran Turismo and other races games, you’ll have to accumulate Kudos(it’s like special points but in Greek means: “The honor given to someone”). Based in how many Kudos you’ve have earned you’ll have your final score.

GRAPHICS 10/10 (PERFECT)
I just have to say that the graphics in MSR are one of the best on Dreamcast. Very well texturing cars, high detailed circuits and light effects at it’s best, just perfect! Do you want more? Play the game then!

GAMEPLAY 8/10 (GREAT)
Sorry, but the game itself is very repetitive. I will explain why: MSR is divided in 25 chapters ,each one with 10 tests, being the last test a championship. When you finish a chapter the game will earn you a brand new car. YES, this is good” But to be repeating this ever and ever...When you come to the 15th chapter you will be a bit bored and almost sleeping (and the menus music help). Be sure to have a bed in your side!
But this is just a minor problem because the car’s controls are excellently excellent! You brake with L button and Accelerate with R button. There are some cheats to be unlocked and many circuits, based in real cities like San Francisco, London and Tokyo. And time in game is real OK? (I live in Brazil, and if I play MSR at noon, Tokyo will be at midnight. So that means all Tokyo circuits will be at night. But if you don’t like this, just unlock a cheat that you can change hours!)

SOUND 10/10 (PERFECT)
Man, I’ve spent many hours just listening to the musics of MSR. And I’d say they are at least, GREAT. There are more than 25 musics in the game differing from the type (rock, techno, country...) Each city has its own radio stations and believe: there’s even the radio announcer.

FUN FACTOR 8/10 (GREAT)
The fun here is to unlock powerful cars like GTO, Skyline, Mustang and I almost forgot, there are cheat cars (Buses of San Francisco, Tokyo and London and Taxis from USA, Japan and England). Complete each chapter and be presented with a mediocre ending, listen to the musics and appreciate graphics!

* “TO BUY OR TO RENT?” you ask?
Buy it now and don’t miss the opportunity. But if you are cautious in buying a new game, you could probably rent MSR at first! Only to see if it’s really worth!
