Sword of the Berserk: Guts' Rage

Watch, play, watch, play, watch, play, and oh.... did I mention WATCH?! 2/3 of this game is Cinematics! How are we supposed to have ''fun'' with it?! The reason I give it a 4 is because there are more downs than ups. Here goes....

STORY- It is about some Outcast Warrior who befriends traveling performers in the middle of nowhere. He goes to the city with them to find that one of the performers is possessed by some disease called Mandragorin or something of the sort. Our hero also with some girl that is possessed with something and acts retarded. If you want the full story, you have to go to the prizebox and look at the World of whatever. Also traveling with Gatsu (Our hero and is nicknamed, Guts *You will figure that out later*) is a naked fairy who flys around. At least it is not as annoying as Navi is in Ocarina of TIme (i.e. Look! Listen! Whats up? Look!!!). In fact, Puck (the nude fairy) never talks while playing the game.

GAMEPLAY- You hit the attack button (There is a Slice button and just a normal attck button) about 3 times and you pull of a huge combo. Pretty lame...... The game runs nicely and there is barely no Slowdown. And when you kill enough enemies your Berserk bar will raise and when it does......YOU GO BERSERK!.....yea.....pretty scary.....*yawn* Don't be fooled, if you look on the back of this games case, it says, ''..a whit knuckle experience that keeps your finger on the attack button!'' Hello, that is all you do! Geez......and not to mention all the cinema scenes. Thats the game right there. And get this, you have to play it through three more times to unlock everything. Ugh...

SOUND- Absolutly no good soundtrack trying to compete with Shenmue's score. Pretty stupid. And if you have played those games that are real gory, you will be able to hear the Blood. Well not in this game my friends. Oh wait, I had to turn my volume down because I couldn't take the music.

REPLAY VALUE- None what-so-ever. If you enjoy playing Pucks Game (A cheesy little mini-game where you take dandelions and hit plants on their heads to make them go away) And you wouldn't even want to sit through the story again. Get this there is no ENDING. I can't tell you what the ending is because I don't want to spoil it for you. But, there isn't an ending!. All you see is some ugly skeleton pick up a demonized face. And Casca the retarded girl doesn't get cured! And in the instruction booklet of the game, It says the game will unlock the secret to heal casca. She gets healed for about 2.3 seconds and thats it. Back to Possession. Anyways.....

RENT or BUY- Neither! Hahahahaha.... I would rent it. Its probably not even worth renting! I'm lucky I bought it for 2 dollars. Brand new at Circuit City.
