MDK2

"MDK 2: One of the best games ever"
This review is a bit late considering that three new systems have come out, but if you are a fan off any game that has some easy/fun bits and some extremely frustrating bits that make you want to hurt someone, then this game is for you.
MDK 2, like the first game, is a first-person shooter. Each level except for the last, which you can choose, has a set character that you must master the moves for in order to complete the game.
Unlike many games, MDK 2 is FULL of comic relieve. Much of it is quite silly, but some of the cinematics are quite enjoyable. The goofiness of the designers really shows in their funny sequences, another great thing about this game.
This game is MASSIVE, the levels are gigantic and will take hours to explore and complete, another cool thing about this game.
Story(95/100)-The story overall is not too creative, similar to the first game, Kurt Hectic, a janitor that never really wanted to fight space aliens, but the mad Dr. Fluke Hawkins gave him a coil suit and sent him into action. The second game deals with the return of the aliens, but the two games do not need to be played in any specific order.
Controls(80/100)-Hm...The controls are interesting and do take a while to get used to. Instead of using the normal analog stick, the for A, B, X, and Y buttons are used to control forward, back, left, and right, when is really awkward and can get confusing.
The D-Pad is different for each character, but mainly it deals with the changing of items.
The analog is actually the camera stick. If you want to face left and walk, you turn the camera and press X rather then facing forward and pressing X, in which case the camera will stay forward and the character strafes to the side.
The L trigger is used for jumping and the R for shooting the item.
Gameplay (100/100)-Very fun to play, most of the game, deals with the characters snooping down hallways waiting for the alien menace to pop out, which was one of the things that I liked most about MDK 2. I love playing levels over and over and getting better at them, which you will do a lot in this game unless you are a skilled gamer. This game is one of the hardest out there and the gameplay never gets boring, especially with 10 GIANT levels.
Characters(100/100)-In MDK 2 there are 3 characters, Max the Dog, Dr. Fluke Hawkins, and Kurt Hectic. They each have completely different ways to play so to complete the game you have to master all three.
Max the Dog (The Shooter)-The 4 armed multi-dexterous dog carries 4 guns in each hand and walks on two legs. A robotic dog built by Doc Hawkins, when he is fully armed, this powerhouse is a force to be reckoned with.
Dr. Fluke Hawkins (The Thinker)-The brains of the trio, Dr. Hawkins will entice gamers who are into puzzles, as all of his levels deal with puzzles ranging from easy to challenging.
Kurt Hectic (The Sniper)-The janitor armed with a gun, parachute and sniper helmet. Kurt has to hide from his enemies and wait until the right time to snipe them down.
Graphics(100+/100)-Stunning graphics leave me in awe. The graphics of this game push the Dreamcast to its limits, and maybe even as good as the medium-quality graphics of some Game Cube games. From the beautiful, multi-colored aurora sky on the alien planet Swizzle Firma to the amazing realism of each room, the graphics are one of the most enjoyable things about the game.
Enemies(100/100)-Wow, at least 25 enemies each with their own ways to be defeated, from the crafty fat Bifs who shoot long lasers out of their trident and can only be defeated by power or a sniper missile to the stomach to the just silly Coneheads who sit around and pass gas until you are near and then send psychic, waves in your direction, MDK 2 has some of the best selections of enemies a game can have.
Challenge(100+/100)-This game is among the most challenging games I have ever played, and it was so much fun. I spent hours trying to figure out how to beat each level boss and trying to conquer the hardest room in the game where you are faced against nearly EVERY enemy in the game all shooting at you repeatedly. This game is a CHALLENGE, so don't be surprised if it takes immeasurable hours to complete certain areas. If challenge is your forte...BUY THIS GAME!!!
Sound(100/100)-The brilliant sound and the hilarious voices are one of the best things about this game. They enhance the game so much and make you feel sometimes that you are the character.
Music(100/100)-This music for this game is wonderful. The awesome techno music goes along perfectly with the game and makes the game extremely enjoyable.
Replay Value(90/100)-Most of the levels you will want to replay (the levels are divided into 4-8 segments so you can redo different segments you have previously completed) but some you would rather not. Some of the things in this game are unimaginably challenging so you may not want to play them ever again.
Overall(100/100)-This is the best game ever created. The amazing challenge, sound, graphics, fun controls to master, challenging puzzles, hilarious comedy, and the awesome final boss Zizzy Balloba make this game the best ever, a must by for all gamers seeking a challenge.
Other Stuff:
Rent or Buy: BUY!! To get the entire experience of the game, you need lots of time on your hands.
Completion Time: 30+ hours of solid-gaming
Oh yeah, many people said MDK 2 was ''Murder Death Kill'', but I think it is ''MAX DOC KURT''.
