NFL Blitz 2000

"A decent football game"

I'm not really into sports games but this is a game I own for the Sega Dreamcast. This is an arcade style football game where you can beat up your opponents and other stupid nonsense which sometimes can be quite humorous, for example if opponent makes a touch down an he is dancing you can run up and tackle him.

Gameplay = 8
The gameplay is average, it has a simple flow to playing it. Between every play off you can choose plays for both defense and offense. You can choose from several different teams and there is several different playing modes like exhibition and arcade and also season. Sometimes when you are playing the game the football will be on fire which will look pretty cool and there is other weird little things like that through out the game.

Graphics = 9
The graphics are nice and they reach arcade style in every way. The football players run down the field in a smooth fluent realistic kind of way. There are many colors so there is nothing to worry about and the with the Dreamcast hardware behind this game its guaranteed to be decent.

Sound = 8
The sound is basically grunts and sounds of being tackled there is the annoying guys voice that is telling you the highlights of the game. The background music sounds like early 90's club some examples are marky mark and the funky bunch ''LAME'' overall the music is decent but its nothing compared to the gameplay so don't relay too much on the music and sound effects.

Replay = 10
There is a high replay value of the game cause you can keep playing it with your buddies. If You have three friends over who all enjoy sport games then you all can challenge each other in a four way football match.

Fun Factor = 8
Usually if a video game that is based on sports is decent there will be a decent fun factor towards the game. If you absolutely despise sports the fun factor will lower so if you don't like sports games stay the heck away from it.

Overall = 8
Rent before you buy people ''I don't think most video stores rent out Dreamcast games anymore considering it is a dead system. Do not pay over ten dollars for the game. If I were you and your looking at purchasing this game I recommend purchasing NFL Blitz 2001 because it has been given better reviews and it is an updated version.
