"A Sequel to Crazy Taxi! Good? Well.........."

The sequel to Crazy Taxi just doesn't offer the same experience as the first. Here's why:

GAMEPLAY: 7

This important aspect of any game recieves a mediocre score for many reasons.First the good though, Crazy Taxi 2 is still fun. The premise is you are a cab driver, picking up people and fares while creating traffic jams and other mayhem in New York City. You can also pick up tips along the way by performing various stunts. You can pick between two maps, Around Apple and Small Apple though both are practically the same. You pick between Normal Mode(time bonuses are recieved for transporting customers), 3 minutes,5 minutes and 10 minutes. A free ride would of been nice but alas,it is missing. There is also a ''Crazy Pyramid'', a.k.a let's put together a bunch of repetive tasks and call them minigames. They consist of hopping over hurdles, jumping buildings and climbing stairs......fun.
The cast of characters is also annoying. They have the Sisqo-haired psycho, the half naked man with shoulder length hair, a scantily-clad young woman and a 76 year old man. Is it just me who thinks that is the sorriest assembly of freaks? All in all the gameplay doesn't live up to the first game (narrow streets and constantly running into walls is annoying.

STORY: 1
If putting four weirdos in a city with taxis sounds like a story, I must be missing something. Not much to talk about here, considering the game has a near to 0 in the story department.

AUDIO/VIDEO: 6

I personally can't stand Crazy Taxi 2's music. Listening to the same 3 Offspring songs got so annoying I had to turn off the sound and pop in a cd for music. The voices do't help much either. They are repetitive and annoying and really detract from the game. The car crashes sound okay, but that doesn't raise my score.

Replayability: 8

I gave this section a good review because this game IS replayable. The only way you can play it is repetitive because there are only so many options you can choose. The Crazy Pyramid keeps you coming back to unlock various items after completing levels. The replayability is high, considering you will play it more than once.

BUY/RENT: RENT

I would highly suggest renting this game. This is the kind of game you can play for a weekend and get enough use out of it. I think you should DEFINATELY rent before buying.
