"A good action/Rpg, but is it for you?"

To begin, I'd like to say that the Dreamcast was a system I wish I could have seen more rpgs for. This game was one of the many I bought randomly after beating Skies of Arcadia and Grandia II!

Alright. On to the review...

Gameplay-6
Why such a low score? Although most of the game was fun, there was also a lot of monotony, especially towards the ridiculously difficult end. In my opinion, some of the more fun gameplay came from temporing armor and killing dwarves. Once the enemies started getting to be a real pain, that's where I began to question the greatness of this game. And that's also about the point where the story started going downhill, on and off at least. This is also a very long lasting game. Parts of it are VERY difficult.

Story-7
There isn't much story here, content-wise, for a long-lived Rpg. However, what I saw of it was pretty funny, at times dramatic, and not unoriginal at all considering it's classic
Tolkien-like fantasy aspects. Some of the characters were really cool. You play as a warrior risen from the dead to battle a new evil. As you may know, this game is a sort of spin off of the Anime series ''Record of Lodoss War''. I haven't seen the series, but would especially recommend this game to someone who's familiar with it.

Audio/Video-7/5
The game doesn't really shine all that much in these aspects. The voice acting is humorous, if nothing else, and I guess it's done well enough. The Music is nothing groundbreaking for the most part. The Video, graphics, however, are quite mediocre for an action RPG on a powerful system like the Dreamcast. Nothing ugly, just room for improvement.
Replayability-2
Okay, Okay, I know you may be wondering. This game is LOooong, and has more pointless sidequests to distract you from reaching the end than you can shake a stick at. The Hack, Slash , and Heal gameplay get's too repetitive after awhile. By the end, if you get there, you probably won't want to play it again (There are definitely better games out there).
Overall-6
I can't give it a 5 just because the story, gameplay, etc. don't deserve a harsh rating. If you can find it at a rental place, by all means, check it out and see if you like it. If I myself had a Dreamcast now I would'nt buy it. Anime fans may think differently, but this game is average.
