"An odd title, but some how, it works..somewhat"

I bought this game as an old retired Goldeneye fan. Sure, there was quake 3 arena, unreal, and half-life coming out or already was out, but hell, I'd take a risk. Its sega, and I have almost a guarentee that this game would be great. This game is odd, in that its arcade style good 'ol gun 'em down fun. It is somewhat of a disappointment though, I was expecting a triple A game here, but I didn't get that. Its odd though, somehow, it works.

Graphics: These graphics are superb. The levels are amazing, and the characters look great. The weapons have a great deal of detail on them, which is great. These graphics are the best first-person shooter graphics on the Dreamcast, bottom line. I never hit any slow down, and the fast-paced gameplay with sweet graphics amazes myself only somewhat. The faces are in need of work though. They aren't too bad.

Gameplay: 8/10 The gameplay is odd, and needs to be tested before someone goes out and buys this title. It's nothing like quake or half-life, rather arcade style, which is fast gameplay. I'd rent or play a demo before buying this game, because it needs to be judged be who plays it, not a review. Somehow, it works.

Sound: 5/10 The sound is junk. Thats all that can really be said. The sound effects are decent, but everything else seems like junk. The announcer sounds like a robot, and the characters have odd voices. The music is OK at times, but I never listen to music in games like this, and why should you?

Controls: 6/10 These controls are odd, and take time in order to get the feel to them. You use the R and L triggers to look left and right, and the analogue to aim. The D-pad is how the character is controlled, and the action buttons are use weapons. They tried something new, and it didn't work out. I don't blame AM2, you'll get used to them. It just take 1-2 hours to get used to them. I'd buy a keyboard and mouse, its much easier to aim with the sniper rifle.

Overall: 7/10 This game is average, but has its good executions. I'd seriously return this game, and get unreal, but thats me. Somehow, this game is good, not great, but its also not the best. Somehow, it works in ways, but I'd try it out before I would even consider buying. The intro movie is cool though.
