"An Already Great Game Enhanced By Great Features"

Resident Evil 2 is once AGAIN reincarnated for ANOTHER system, but this time, its actually a great port. New features have been added, the graphics have been slightly enhanced, but during all this change, the original RE2 is still there.

Graphics
The game's graphics were good on the PSone, then they were grainy on the N64, but now they've peaked on the DreamCast. Simply put, the character models look great, the monsters look crisp, and the tyrants look wonderful. The backgrounds still don't look any different though, and it would've been nice to see CapCom enhance them some. The CG Cinema's still look the same, but its not like thats a bad thing, since they were already beautiful in the first place.

Gameplay
The gameplay is still the same after all of these incarnations. From PSone, to N64, to the DC, its still the same. Once again, its not like thats a bad thing, as the Gameplay was brilliant to begin with. If you played any other versions before this one, then you'll know what to expect when you pop this version into your DC.

Sound
Sounds within this game are truly amazing. I myself am not scared of games like this, but the sounds can really get you tense, they even got me tense. Every single moan from any zombie can be heard clearly, every single word from Claire or Leon can be heard perfectly, and every single step made from any character can be heard without straining your ears. The music also adds ALOT of tension. Some times, there doesn't even need to be any music, so the game will just be totally silent, except the sound of the characters footsteps and your beating heart.

Controls
Controls are quite possible the only thing I'm iffy on. Where's my 180 turn CapCom? You put AutoAim in there, so why not a 180 turn? The controls have always been standard Resident Evil, so you'll either love them or hate them. Depending on how well your hand eye cordination is, it will most likely be one or the other. Otherwise, controls are solid.

Extras
CapCom REALLY went crazy with the extras on this one. Tons of different modes, tons of secrets, among other things. The new modes include Rookie Mode, which is simply Easy mode on drugs. Nightmare Mode.....which is simply put, IMPOSSIBLE to beat. A movie viewer, for when you beat the game and want to watch some of the movies again, along with tons of other little things that make this version worthwhile to own.

Final Stats
Graphics-10
Gameplay-10
Sound-10
Controls-7
Extras-10
