Gundam Side Story 0079: Rise from the Ashes

"Good for the first"

For the first Bandai Gundam game for the Dreamcast, it was good. Now don't compare it to newer games like the PS2 line of games but this was good.

Type of game(in my opinion):Adventure/RPG
Characters: Lt Rare(You), Lt. Leon, Lt. Max, Oasis.

Why I give it that rating:

Modes: 4
Where is 2 player mode???? There are hardly any modes in this game so no two player action!!!!

Sound: 7
The music gets annoying if you play for a long time but it does get fun if you start hearing pilots talk. There are voices in this game! You do hear the beam slashes and gun shooting though.

Graphics: 8
This game has awesome Graphics! The mobile suits are highly detailed as if you are watching a 3d Gundam movie! It actually puts you in the cockpit of your Gundam. You have the Altitude, Ammo, health, Pictures(hidden), Weapons, and how far away you are from the enemy!

Story: 6
This game doesn't have to much of a story to it..... It is none the less fun though. Plus it is way to short. As you start playing you are all of a sudden thinking: Is that it?

Controls: 7
The could've done better but I'm not complaining. The shooting is easy and switching weapons is easy. The only thing I complain about is the beam saber. The Beam Saber comes out automatically when you get close enough. I don't like that.

Gundams: 5
Where are all the giant robots? Well there aren't too many to choose from but for the ones there are they sure did detail them a lot. The enemys have more of a variety then you! At the beginning you get to choose from two Gundams, One fast but not to powerful, and one slow but powerful. I pick the slow but powerful for most. Except the Fast one has a choice to hold a Machine Gun, Rocket Launcher,(hidden stuff) That is a disadvantage.... The slow one can only hold a Machine Gun or the hidden ones.

Overall: 7
This game is great for the first Bandai Gundam game on the DC. Just don't go around comparing it to The PS2 games! If you are a hard core gundam fan, get this game. Otherwise, rent it first. There isn't to much to say about this game except it is a overall good game. This is one of the only games that keeps my Dreamcast out by my other systems.
