"The huge platformer that almost could"

After searching 3 months for this game, I finally acquired it. And after all that, I can't deny that I was disappointed. Read on to find out why.

Graphics- 7/10

The graphics are surprisingly nice. They have nice character models, with a very noticeable European style. But the graphics do have some bugs, but then again, what game doesn't have small issues? Overall they were very easy on the eyes.

Music- 10/10

Wonderful, orchestrated music. The music perfectly fits the mood of the game, with its dark sound. The music was very nice, and you will like it. Overall, this is by far the best part of the game. And you will think that too, most likely.

Controls- 8/10

No complaints here. The controls do seem familiar, because it is basically the same as other platformers that were released on the Dreamcast. Overall they are nicely placed.

Gameplay- 2/10

This is what bugged me. And no pun intended. The gameplay itself isn't terrible, it is just terribly average, which can make the game seem a little monotonous at times. But that isn't what makes the game below average. It is the bugs (shudder). This has got to be one of the buggiest games I have ever played. The collision detection is off, the voices in cutscenes stop in mid-sentence, the camera swings wildly, which makes it stupid hard to make just a basic jump, and so on. The game is big, though, and that makes up for some of things, but then comes the insane difficulty. It is outrageously hard. Overall, the gameplay is average, but bogged down by bugs and difficulty.

Replay/ Value- 3/10

This is another bad part. If you aren't native to the UK, then you will probably pay 50+ dollars for it, which isn't a good deal. I picked this up in England for 20 pounds on a trip up there, which is the equivalent of about 30 bucks, and that really isn't a bad deal. But if you have to pay over that, I wouldn't recommend it.

Overall- 4/10

If you are a starved Dreamcast owner, and want a huge game to play that will last you a while, then you may want to check this out. But if you are just wanting something to enjoy, I suggest you look elsewhere. Either way, just be ready for a bumpy ride.
