Samba de Amigo ver. 2000
Review by DrAndonuts
"Shake on, little monkey. Shake on."
Samba de Amigo Ver. 2000. Before you read on, just be warned: This review is biased. I can't help it. I love this game. Quite possibly my favorite of all time. Everything about it is perfect. It has no flaws, except the fact it wasn't released stateside. Read on to find out why I love this game.
Graphics- 8/10
Perfect for this type of game. Bright, colorful, running at a smooth framerate, and they don't bother you while playing, which is the worst possible thing that could happen during a music game. Sure, they may not be the best you've ever seen, but did you expect to see graphics caliber of Metal Gear Solid or Halo to be shaking their ass for all it's worth? Of course not. Great nonetheless.
Controls- 10/10 (Maracas) or 8/10 (Controller)
Well, if you don't have maracas and your getting this game, you must be crazy. The maracas make this game. Without them, the game isn't nearly as fun. But with 2 sets of maracas, this may be quite possibly be the best party game of all time, even beating out Super Monkey Ball. The maracas work wonderfully, although it would be great if there were wireless ones. But, the controls are perfect for what hey gave us.
Music- 10/10
The music in this game is by far the best part of the game. Well, go figure, it is a music game. It has about 40 or so songs, all of which are latin, but that just gives more a beat to the music. The cool part is, that you can download more songs off of the internet. Every song has its own style, and you'll find your own personal favorite that'll never get old. (Mine's Burning Hearts)
Gameplay- 10/10
It is genius. You have 6 circles on the screen. A little blue ball goes to them and you shake the corresponding maraca (left or right) either high, mid, or low. But then it begins to go faster. Soon you have 2 balls at once. Then they are going so fast you can't keep up and then BAM! Do a pose quick! Do a circle with them! It is so much fun, that I cannot begin to describe it.
Replay/ Value- 10+/10
Wow. You really get your money's worth in the game. With over 40 songs, nearly double the amount in the original, the new hustle mode, normal mode, 5 difficulties, and unlimited fun in multiplayer, this is by far great value.
Overall- 10/10
This is one the best, if not best, games I have ver played. You need to buy it and you need to buy it now.
