Virtua Fighter 3TB
Review by Harold17
"I expected a lot more,do NOT waste money on this..."
WHAT A LETDOWN.
That's the phrase I'm using to start my first review here. You may be asking:''What is this guy complaining about?'' Well, I have plenty of reasons to try to convince you to not to buy this game.Let me make an introduction of how this game came to my hands. First, a friend who traded a PS1 and some games for a DC and some games, told me that he got this VF3tb in the trade, along with some other games. He also told me that the game was really lame, one of the worst games he had ever played. I thought that he may be just exaggerating. I had saw before all the awesome reviews on gaming magazines, so it was really strange to hear an opinion like that.then I asked him to lend me the game, just to see if it was THAT bad.Well, now let me review some aspects of the game-
GRAPHICS-7/10
I know that this is the 1st generation of DC games, but I also know that it was an arcade game with the same visuals a couple years ago, so there was a lot of room for a massive tune-up in the graphics. Just look at Soul Calibur,THAT IS a fine conversion. Not bad,but it could be sooooo much better.
CONTROL-6/10
Easy to get in,but hard to master. WAYYY to hard to master. With only 2 attack buttons, newbies may think its easy, just to find that they were wrong. The evade button is almost useless, and the other one its ok,nothing wrong about it.I know that the VF series are well known for it deep controls, but these are too deep, some people to me just dont have the patience or the time to sit down to try to master them. Why lose your time trying to master this, when you could be playing other jewels like Soul Calibur or DOA 2?
Too hard and stupid for the casual gamer, however, hardcore gamers may find an ''interesting'' challenge here. I like to call them ''masochists''.
FUN FACTOR (GAMEPLAY)-1/10
Here is where this games fails and falls totally and helpless into the dark hole of the hall of shame. Its just...plain. Dumb. As plain and dumb as staring at this dot.I just cant have fun with this. This thing that Sega calls ''game'' did not gave me even 2 minutes of fun.A game is supposed to be fun. This is not a game, is a piece of trash. This game have very few extras, no unlockable characters or any interesting unlockeable stuff at all, and well, this piece of trash(remember, this is not a game) SUCKS.
SOUND- 3/10
The sound in this game its nothing above normal. Its a bit BELOW normal.None of this game tunes grabbed my attention. Why I'm giving this a ''3'' instead of a ''1''?
Simply because I have heard other tunes in other fighting games that are worse than the ones in VF3tb.And you can always press that useful ''mute'' button on your TV`s control remote.
Graphics-7/10
Control-6/10
Fun Factor-1/10
Sound-3/10
OVERALL(not average!!)--1
Well, as you can see, I didn't enjoyed this game AT ALL.Im glad that my friend got rid of his copy as soon as he could. I may sound mean, but, you must understand that there always had been better fighting games than these one.And don't get me wrong,I REALLY enjoy fighting games. I enjoyed VF 1&2, Tekken 1,2& 3 and many other fighting games. If some evil dictator makes me choose between having nails being introduced through the tips of my fingers or play VF3tb for 2 hours,I choose the first one.
I EXPECTED SO MUCH OF THIS GAME. I just cant believe that Yu Suzuki was involved on this.
