"The second best light gun game on the Dreamcast."

Confidential Mission is the second to last Dreamcast lightgun game released, and is regarded as the second best.

It came out in America around May 2001. It was subject to pretty decent and some poor reviews. It was pretty overlooked at first but ended up to be a hit later on. Right now it's pretty hard to find, and it was even hard to find when it first came out! But I got my copy shortly after it came out, so I don't need to worry about finding a copy anymore.

Gameplay: Well, there isn't much to a light gun game. All you really do is just shoot a gun at the screen. It sounds quite boring but it's quite fun. However, you can use a regular controller, but it takes a lot of fun out of the game and is quite hard and boring. For best results get a light gun. That makes the game a lot more fun and exciting. The plot is rather simple. Basically, some bad guys kidnap some scientist who can help them take over the world. Some spies have to stop the bad guys and save the scientist. This has been done in many B-rated spy movies, so it's really nothing new and special.

Sound: This is your average light gun game. All of your gun noises are there. However this game has some good voice acting that could get on your nerves. I never really noticed the music though.

Graphics: This is not bad for a Dreamcast game; it's pretty good looking for one of the last dreamcast games. There is almost no slowdown.

Replay Value: This game is full of replay value. You get a few modes of play. A training mode, ''another world'' mode, and the original arcade game is there for you purists. The another world mode is just the main game with some minor changes. To get it you have to complete a specified number of exercises in the Training mode, and beat the mission also. The more things you complete in the training mode, the more you unlock. You can even unlock the option to choose a mission you want to play. It should take you not too long to get everything unlocked.

Overall, Confidential Mission is a pretty good game. It's the second best lightgun game on the Dreamcast. It's a game of fair length for a game in its genre. Sure it has some flaws. Sometimes the voice acting will annoy you and sometimes the game can be hard. It's one of the few lightgun games on the Dreamcast. Is the game worth buying? Yes! Great fun, that is real cheap. Not worth renting, because again, the price it'd cost you to rent, you could probably find the game, if you are lucky, I got this game a month after it was released and after that I only saw a few copies in stores thereafter.

As with just about every American light gun game, this game isn't compatible with the Japanese lightguns. Companies like Interact and Mad Catz make light guns for the dreamcast, However, I only have the Mad Catz gun and it's never failed me. So if you have the American version I recommend that gun for the best gameplay possible.
