Armada

Review by Snake166

"An excellent sleeper hit!!!!!!!!"

I first read about Armada at dreamcast.ign.com and it sounded cool so I reserved my copy and bought it the day it came out. Several weeks later I am still playing it and wondering why the hell anyone else hasn't posted anything about it. This is quite possibly my best dreamcast game out of 10 of them. Oh well, on with the review. The story is like this: Humans search for other livable planets and find a lot of them so they break up into different races and abilities. Then one day a one way minded alien attacks us for no reason so all the different races of humans band together to destroy this monster. Your mission is to either kill all the Armada or establish communication with them to find out what sin we have commited to deserve such punishment.

Graphics 8 out of 10: They graphics of the ships are kind of small and it has a kind of annoying fog that blocks your view but you will get used to it. The bullets and explosions are bright and very nice looking though.

Sound 7 out of 10: The explosions and growls from the Armada are very cool. Has a lot of speech sections and very good music. The only reason I gave it a 7 is sometimes these weird ships will decide to help you and then they you around and if you bump into them they say the same thing over and over again.

Gameplay 10 out of 10: This is a mix of a RPG and a space shooter and is very addictive. The controls take a little while to get used to but after you do you wouldn't take it any other way.

Replayability 10 out of 10: Like I said earlier you can play this game for months and not get bored. After you kill so many Armada ships and get a certain amount of experience you can buy better guns for you ship. REALLY COOL!

Total 10 out of 10: Rent or Buy? BUY. If you like space shooters or Rpgs go buy it now. If you dont at least rent it, you might be suprised.
