Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2

"A true Sequel to Tony Hawk..."

I just got Tony Hawk 2 for Dreamcast. Thinking about the old Tony Hawk,I sat down to think of all of the great memories I had with that game. I loved doing new special tricks and moves never seen before. I could replay each level with each character and get all of the tapes. I love this game! I was playing it non stop for a while. It displays the best graphics yet for a dreamcast game and shows the amazing backround of each skate level. This makes it a lot more fun. You can free skate to show all of your friends your cool new special tricks from the many new characters. Overall I think this is the best skateboarding game on Earth. Now I will show you ratings to prove it...

Graphics 10/10


I love this aspect of the game. It really shows how dreamcast can compete with other platforms. I played PS2 versions and these graphics are certainly comparable.

Each player is cut out well and shows detail. You can create players with many ways of dressing them. This shows the nice graphics. The halfpipes and backrounds of the levels are detailed with certain competitions and nice lights glowing the skatepark. It makes it feel like landing a trick is a lot better. This part of the game is very nice.

Sound 9/10


The sound is also pretty neat. The music has a nice DJ and different memorable songs for each level. This really makes you feel like a skater. The music also fits the videos that you can earn.

On the gameplay the sound is very realistic. Your grinding noise is nice and your skateboard has good effects. Sometimes you can hear the skater talk which is also pretty neat. I would say this is a nice part of the game.

Gameplay 10/10

There are many different gameplays. You can do a career mode, free skate, multiplayer mode, or customize mode.

In career mode you travel across the world and collect skate tapes. You can trade these tapes for real videos.

Free skate is for practice. You can stay in a place for as long as you want. There is no time limit. I would say it is best for noobs and people needing practice in special tricks for easy points. This is for practicing.

Mulitplayer is for two people obviously. You can play HORSE where you do a trick and another person has to match it or they get an H.

Customize mode is for creating players. You can design a player and their skill level. This makes it easier for people who like to cheat. Hehe!

Buy/Rent

This could be either. Buying gives good replay value all though you can probably beat the game with at least one player when renting.

Replay Value 10/10

Awesome! You can pick over 10 skaters and replay the game with all of them. It is really fun because they all have different tricks and special moves. Also, their beginning ratings are different so some can provide more of a challenge. This is a nice part of the game.

Overall

10+9+10+10=9.7 rounded to 10!

I will rate this game perfect. If you are any bit interested in a skateboarding game then get this. It will be the best boarding game you have ever played.
