Ready 2 Rumble Boxing
Review by Son_Goku
"A great boxing game, but it sure does get boring after a while!"
After getting my hands on Ready 2 Rumble Boxing, I played it for a while. If you do enjoy boxing games, get this one. However, back when there was Mike Tyson's Punch-Out for the NES and the later version for the SNES, I really enjoyed the game. I played it for almost five hours straight, but sadly, Ready 2 Rumble can't match up to the classic.
Gameplay 8/10: The game is very easy to catch on to because there are only a few buttons used, however, dodging punches is another thing. The special moves each boxer performs is quite simple as well. The coolest thing though is when you get into the Rumble! mode. Wow, talk about FAST punches. Though, this game is a bit too easy. After an hour or less, you can destroy your toughest computer opponents...
Audio/Video 10/10: What can I say? This game's graphics just don't get any better! Each boxer looks very, very, VERY realistic, it almost scares me. As for sound, it's good to hear your cornerman calling you an idiot everytime you miss a punch. :P Though, it is very good. The voice of Michael Buffer gets you into the mood of tearing off an ear!
Replayability 3/10: Honestly, do not replay this game at all. It gets very boring after a week, honestly. After you've taken out everyone in the Championship mode, there is no use! Oh sure, there's the unlocking of characters, but that gets boring after a while. I suggest that you only replay this game if you have friends over and just want to pound them silly in a two player game.
Buy or Rent?: Just rent it. There is no sense in spending over $45 to get this game! Only buy it if you are a filthy rich person that has enough cash to spend on anything and everything! (I was being sarcastic there...)
Overall 6/10: Even though this game was for the Dreamcast, it doesn't particularly mean it's very good. Sure, graphics and sound rule all in this game, but it just isn't fun after a while.
