"Any game that cost me 5.00 deserves a 9"
Searching for role-playing games for Dreamcast is a hard task. There's not enough to go around, but when I finally find one I take it in appreciation. Unlike most people they just take them for granted and simply bash this game like a Barney stuffed animal. There's so much more that meets the eye in this game. Here is my review.
Graphics:10 They can't get much better than this. Very clean designs. Everything is just so shiny. Its like they sprayed Lysol on the game. The graphics are just so good. The characters all look great with a cute anime side to them.(That's right I said cute, get over it) Being the first role-playing game for Dreamcast they sure went above and beyond.
Game play:9 The whole thing revolves around going into some stupid cave and while getting your tail kicked you have to collect items so you can sell it to some IRS agency because your 8000 in dept. Its the first time you'll ever get to have fun while owning someone money. As I stated early, this is a role-playing game. So you going to have you average role-playing stuff. Such as power ups, special skill moves, magic attacks, and your own custom party. There are five characters the game. You can only have 3 in a party, but that more than enough to beat the game. The next thing is the dungeons. There are many dungeons in the game. The only thing about them are that randomly generate every time you go into them. This creates a new feeling every time you go into one. I guess that could be good or bad.
Sound:10 I've played many role-playing games. Most of them had music so bad that I rather here my teacher scratch her finger nails on the chalkboard. I was greatly surprised when I heard the soft, calm music this game offered.
Control:10 Walk, fight, and run...does that sound to hard for you?
Replay:7 You may not come back to it because you'll never finish it. The games as hard a steel vault. I took me 4 hours just to beat the first dungeon. You'll be playing for a long time.
Final Verdict: Get this game if you like role-playing games. Get this game if you don't. It will make you a role-playing fan. No matter what get this game. Besides its so cheap what else do with that 5 bucks. A Big Mac?
