"Finally, A Solid Action Game That Fits Spidey's Style!"

Its about time a game based on a comic book/movie/TV show actually didn't suck! While I saw Spider-Man with the stereotype that it was going to be bad, I was pleasantly surprised!

Graphics 8/10

This fit Spider-Man perfectly! The graphical style is a cross between the newer cartoon series and the comics, which is how it should be! While some character models aren't perfect, all are good, and crisp looking. The only problem I encountered was that there was a bit of 'fuzziness' during cinematics, but gameplay graphics were okay.

Sound/Music 8/10

Once again, it suited Spider-Man perfectly! The game is filled with humorous comments from Spidey that stay true to his personality! The game's Villains even sound like you would want them to! The music, while good, isn't around enough. Its seems you have to be around something important/dangerous for there to be music, and I thought that was a slight flaw.

Story 10/10

The perfect Spider-Man story! It's almost like all the best ideas from all the comics put into one original epic! I won't spoil any of the game's great plot, but I'll give an idea of the story. Spidey is framed at science demonstration and police are after him. Along the way to clearing his name, he encounters many of the past villains, like Venom! Eventually, Venom goes to the good side to take on the game's real villain. The game also concludes with a pretty surprising villain that you haven't seen before! A truly well-done and inspired story.

Gameplay/Control 9/10

One of the games standout points! Spidey plays just like you would like him to! Its easy to maneuver him, and surprisingly, easy to web-sling around places! There are some interesting gameplay elements to the game, too. While Spider-Man is your only character, you can earn many alternate costumes! Just about anything Spidey has ever worn is an unlockable costume! (yes, even that paper-bag/fantastic 4 suit he wore in an older comic). One thing that will keep you busy is the game's unlockable comic books! Spread throughout the game are many Spider-Man comic books, dating back to his oldest days. Collecting them is very fun and challenging, and adds tons of replay value, while unlocking things! The game has very solid, fun gameplay with the only exception being some of the game's shorter levels.

Overall 9/10

Spider-Man is an excellent action game that anyone can get into and have fun with! It's sure to please long time Spider-Man followers, but a good game for newcomers. Not only that, but you should be able to find this game easily and at a low price. If you find this game at a good price I highly recommend picking it up! Heck, even if it isn't at a good price you should buy it! One of the best action games in recent memory!
