Elemental Gimmick Gear

Elemental Gimmick Gear is an RPG for the dreamcast, and it is far different than other games for the system. It is a difficult game as well as a unique one. E.G.G is divided into 2 parts of gameplay, one is a 2-D view of the game which the game primarily consists of (towns, dungeons, inside of buildings), and then there is the 3-D boss battles.

Story 10/10

Like any good RPG, the story is great, and in this sci fi thriller its probably what makes this game along with the gameplay. For many RPG's it is easy enough to tell whats going to happen next in the storyline, however in the case of Elemental Gimmick gear, that is not the case. I found myself in surprise over many occasions. The 3 dimensional boss battles make the game more enjoyable because its comepletely different than playing through the dungeons and because of this, it prevents the player from getting bored in many cases.

Gameplay 10/10

Even though the style of gameplay in this game can at most time be outdated, it still exceeds the gameplay of a game that is out of date. The gameplay is very good.

Graphics 10/10

The graphics in this game aren't anyting spectacular at all, even though the cinematics look great. But the graphics are very unique and original.

Sound 10/10

The sound of this game is very passable even if it did seem repetive for maybe 10 seconds out of the 8 hours of gameplay it took upon compeletion. Many say this game takes about 12 hours to compelete normally though.

Control 10/10

Like mentioned earlier think of the controls and gameplay of this game belonging to a very out of date game, but good enough to be passable for the present.

Overall 10/10

This is one of the better RPG's you can find, and since it sells for so cheap nowdays, if you are ever able to come across a copy of this game, I suggest you buy it. It should be kept in mind that htis game is much harder than most games on the market, so if you want to play through the entirety of it, you must be prepared for the challenges this game has to offer. One can easily tell by playing this game, or by looking at the cover or at the title, that Elemental Gimmick Gear is a unique gaming experience and it is this quality of games that I find myself praising the most.
