"Forget Resident Evil"

Remember the Classic House of the Dead? I thought so. Sure, it is overshadowed by the second, but now there's a side-story that rivals, and defeats Resident Evil! Yes, no more lightgun, but trust me, it's an excellent purchase. So why didn't I give it a ten. Read on to find out.

GAMEPLAY 10/10
Zombie Revenge's gameplay is an incredible mix of Resident Evil and Dynamite Cop. You never know what to expect. You can pick up anything from pistols to drills to flamethrowers! The effect is that there is always a new, more interesting way to kill a zombie, although not quite as many interesting ways as Dynamite Cop. The controls feel like an extension to your hand. The stick move incredibly fluidly and is very simple to use. Three buttons: Punch, Guard, and shoot may make it sound boring, but it's not. There are plenty of combos and every characters has completely different moves. Fun? YES!!! One of my favorite games ever!

STORY 5/10
OUCH! Sega, this was supposed to be a House of The Dead side story. Just who the heck is Zed!? Curien is supposed to be making the zombies! House of the Dead purists will be slightly upset with the changes but otherwise it is pretty good. You hate who you're supposed to, and have sympathy for who you're supposed to, but what the heck? I think they forgot about the side-story part, but this game was originally titled ''Blood Bullet: The House of the Dead Side story,'' which was a much better title.

AUDIO/VIDEO 9/10
Okay, great music and impressive graphics. The voices are terrible, though. This game sounds about as exciting as a cheap Japanese karate film with the lousy English dubbing. Well, it is a Japanese game with English dubbing, but Sega had a much bigger budget, I'm sure. The graphics aren't quite as good as The House of The Dead 2's, but still good. But, what is with the outfits? They're hideous. What happened to the suit and tie look of the previous games.

REPLAYIBILITY 10/10
This game is exciting over and over again. If you had fun the first time, you'll have more fun the second, and more the third, and so on. It gets better as it ages, like a fine wine.

BUY OR RENT
Buy you nut!

FINAL SCORE 8/10
Slightly hurt by graphics and sound, and hurt a bit more by inconsistencies in the story, but still gets an 8/10 ';'
