Resident Evil Code: Veronica
Review by AWebCraft
"The Finale for a Great Masterpiece!"
Prologue -
''Claire Redfield who arrived in Raccoon City to search for her lost brother Chris and a rookie police officer Leon S. Kenedy managed to escape from the city but their ordeal was only a prelude of things to come.''
What you don't know is Claire tries to infiltrate one of Umbrella's strong hold and was caught. She is then transferred to a island prison facility. Thats how the game starts.
Graphics - The graphics are by far one of the best I have ever seen for a console. Unfortunatele I was put off by the likeness of Claire and Steve to Kate Zeta Jones and Leo DiCrapio. Either than that I can live with the game. Somehow the atmosphere for the game is not as scary as RE3 - Nemesis. Something was missing and I can't put my finger on it. It just wasn't scary anymore.
Gameplay - The gameplay is the same. I find not new thril from this. I just wished for more inovation from CAPCOM. They really have no excuse this time as Dreamcast is a powerful machine and i don't think it's power has really been shown yet. Apart from Shen Mue, Veronica is the best playable game in the markey for Dreamcast.
Controls - How many of you out there wish the Dreamcast has a RESET button. For those of you who are contious about score, you better learn the power button well. Apart from having 2 guns at one time nothing much has changed. In fact you lack the view option and the 180 option from the Nemesis game. I feel that the games level of difficulty has also dropped.
Sound - Top Notch. No Complaint.
Replay Value - With out a doubt YES... OH YEAH!! More secrets than ever and a whole lota killing to do. Nuff Said!
I really have no idea what the difference is apart from the cool plastic sleeve the LE comes in. Maybe if I played some more. Till Then Have A Blast!!!
