Gundam Side Story 0079: Rise from the Ashes

Gundam Side Story 0079: Rise from the Ashes is a 1 player FPS(First Person Shooter) tactics game.

For me, this is the most heavily graphic/detailed gundam game ever. Although the big downfall of this game is the length of it which is un doubtfully short. This disappointed me but I still love this game for its innovativeness. This is the only gundam game I know of that allows you to be in the cockpit of your mobile suit. Anyhow.......lets get on with the review............

Controls: 7
The controls are hard to use and control but once you get the hang of it you can skim through the levels without a care. Movement controls on the other hand is very hard to control because the D pad is for movement and the analog is for the camera which confuses many players including me. But like I said before, after awhile you get use to it.

Sounds: 9
They are wonderful. From the movements of your GMs to the firing of the machine guns and bazookas. Even the music is wonderful. Puts you right in the mood to kick some ass. Words can not describe the music and sounds of this game but to put it as magnificent! Even the voice acting was wonderful. Although I put it down a point because at times when the bullets hits you (especially turrets) they make a loud *PANG* sound which hurts my ears. :p

Graphics: 10
This game, out of all the gundam games I've played, has the best graphics ever. The mobile suits, building, weapons, etc. were amazingly detailed to perfection. They detailed everything down to the last pixel. Although some look a bit polygon like that still didn't bother me from gawking for about an hr or so.

Game Play: 7
Yes this is the inevitable downfall of this game. For every game there is the best point and the lowest point and this category happened to be the lowest for this game. I'm not saying that the game play is bad, I'm just saying that its to short and there isn't much replay value in it. Once you beat the game you get all the codes at once! You don't even have to work hard for it.
Overall the game is just too short and there isn't much to come back and play for.

Story: 8
This is during the One Year War. Your in command of the White Dingos. As the Federation is trying to chase off the Zeon forces from earth, Zeon is still trying to had a foot hold on earth. Now its up to you and your team to help chase out the last of the Zeon from Australia(thats where you are).

Buy or Rent:
If your a huge gundam fan like me, buy it. If not, try and rent it to try it out. This is a very interesting game and the graphics are just amazing. Don't let an opportunity like this slide by.
