"Cutesy Shooting Fun!"

My first ever review on Gamefaqs!

When I first purchased this game I was expecting it to be like the fantastic Cotton 2 for the Sega Saturn. I'll be honest with you at first I didn't like this version but Cotton and the oh so Cute Silk has once again stole my heart! Here's my review of the game

Story: From what I know (The game's in Japanese) There are large Sweets which some-how protect the world or something like that. Thing is Cotton loves these sweets and the Fairy Kingdom come up with a plan to Con Cotton into finding these sweets!

8/10: Nice Ideas

Graphics: Now this is where the Dreamcast is tested to almost the Limits of its power! Everything looks so nice and cute (Especially Cotton) With the Bosses looking fun and different! There is a bit of Slow Down in Places but it's understandable for everything is 3-D

7/10: Cute Graphics

Sounds: Hmmm this is where the game starts to get a little bit annoying. The Music is beautiful,I was humming the music for Stage 3 for ages afterwards! The Sound effects however aren't so great. You'll get annoyed fast of Cotton's repeated chants of "I'm the King" Whenever she gets hit.

6/10 Great Music, Annoying Sounds

Controls: To be truly honest I hated the controls for the game. Cotton seems to be cursed with a "Centre Virus" Which means every time you let go of the Control stick the Cursor centres again! This proves to be very annoying on Bosses.

3/10 Bad Controls......

Gameplay: This is where the game shines the most! Each level starts as normal with Cotton Blasting everything in sight. Almost everything in the game is destructable! But about half way through the level the Game splits into 2 almost, 1 way takes you to Mid Boss, 1 takes you to a "Dodging" Section which involves mostly dodging things (Man i'm good!)

8/10 A Treat for Shooter Fans

Overall: 7/10

A fine Shooter from Success although hardened Cotton Fans may want to read up about this one first!
