Resident Evil Code: Veronica
Review by Squall15
"The series keeps getting better"
Well, it's here. Finally, after months of waiting, Code Veronica has been released. And boy was it worth the wait.
You start in a prison cell on a remote island as Claire Redfield, captured by Umbrella. A mysterious man lets you out of your cell, and you are free to leave. The game goes from there. Along the way you will meet up with several characters, all of them interesting. I know that's pretty bland, but it is rather easy to spoil this game.
Chris Redfield is playable by disc two. This time the discs are sequential, so the game is a lot longer than normal.
A lot has changed since Resdient Evil 3. Most for the good. The 180 degreee turn is still in, and now you can do new things with your weapons. For example, one set of guns can be held in both hands for double firing. The left trigger on the controller is used well here, as you can point each gun at a seperate target. You can also use this feature with a single gun.Just wait until you see Steve though. He's just like Leo D.
Graphics: 9/10: Pretty nice. They are blocky in a few places, and the lips aren't always in sync with the words. I'm just nitpicking though. They are quite good. Oh and the cinemas! Unbelievable! The cinemas are long, and almost movie like realism.
Sound: 7/10: Pretty good here too. The music is always fit for the mood, and the monster sounds are well done. Some of the monsters seem to be recycled sounds from the previous games though. Oh, and wait until Steve talks. God, he sounds like a girl!
Control: 8/10 Very few problems. I missed the dodge feature, and the lack of full customization hurts. Still, after a little practice, the controls are decent, and never realy that big of a worry.
Fun: 9/10: Definetly a game for just about anyone. There's so much to like. The game is long, and the excellent story draws you in with the graphics. You can be playing this game for awhile too, as there are a lot of secrets.
Definetly get it if you are a fan, and newbies should check it out too. Fifty bucks well spent.
