Sonic Adventure

"One of the best Sonic games wtih many upgrades from the past."

This is the first Sonic to be released on the Dreamcast and probably one of the best. This time you can play as 6 different characters with all different abilities and objectives. There are some old Sonic characters as well as some new one. Sonic, Tails and Knuckles are back. Along with 3 new characters Big the Cat, Gamma the robot, and Amy Rose (Sonic's girlfriend). All of the characters are very unique and there is even a secret character for after beating all 6 characters. This is also the first game where robotnik is called Eggman.

GAMEPLAY-7/10
Over all the majority of the game is very enjoyable to play. Each character has different moves, but pretty much use the same buttons to attack, jump, etc. Sonic is a very fast and he uses charge up spins and homing attacks that make him a little above basic. Tail use the ability to fly and has good speed. Knuckles is pretty much average. He has some air flight, can climb, and has decent speed. Gamma just uses a cross hair and shoots anything. Big fishes and he is very slow, but traveling is not need for his stages. Amy is very basic and very slow. Amy uses a hammer to attack and jump very high. She will run a decent amount after a bit of walking, but still is not up to Sonic speed. Learn this game take little time at all and can be mastered very quickly. There are also many environments of stages. From Beaches, Ice Caps, and Ruins to Amusement Parks, Highways, and Casinos. The stages do repeat, but the stage is differently design for the character's abilities and advantages.

STORY-10/10
This game takes place in an area called Station Square which is a new setting. This has many different stories at once which cross over and all combine at the end. The main story is about Eggman finding a creature called Chaos and using him to help take over the world. He needs all 7 Chaos Emerald to become invincible.
Here is a little explanation of each story:

Sonic-Sonic is just going about town when he notices police cars rushing somewhere. He follows them and then meets Chaos. He battles with Chaos and then Chaos runs away. The next day he see Tails crash and goes to rescue him. Sonic and Tail go to the ruins to find Eggman and then he tells Sonic his plans with Chaos. Sonic must go find the Chaos Emeralds before Eggman. Total Stages: 10. Quest Score: 8/10

Tails-This starts off with Tails test flying his plane and then crashing. Sonic saves him and then he ask Sonic to go to his lab in the Mystic Ruins. there Sonic and Tails find out Eggman's plan. Tails must also stop Eggman from getting the Chaos Emeralds. In Tails' adventure you must get to the goal of the stage before Sonic does. Total Stages: 5. Quest Score:7/10

Knuckles-Knuckles is pondering why he must watch the Master Emerald on Angel Island alone when Chaos shows up and breaks the Master Emerald into 15 pieces. Knuckles must go hunt for 3 pieces of the Emerald in each stage using a radar. He must dig, climb, and fight to find them. He can quickly complete his stages. Total Stages: 5. Quest Score: 6/10

Gamma-He is just been made by Eggman and now serving him. Eggman gives him a test and practices his skills. When he succeeds he will be given another assignment to capture frog. Afterwards he meets Amy and decides to make Eggman the enemy and destroy all his fellow robot. He has a timer running down that only can be restored by defeating enemies. Total Stages: 5. Quest Score: 6/10

Big-Big is sleeping in the forest when he sees his frog friend has a tail. Big's frog then consumes his Chaos Emerald and disappears. Big then goes to search for the frog. You must fish for froggy which is very boring and the A emblems are worse.
Total Stages: 4. Quest Score: 3/10

Amy Rose-Amy is going home one day from shopping wishing that she did not have to do the same thing everyday; which is shop. While dreaming about being with Sonic; the Egg Carrier appears and a bird runs into Amy while escaping from it. Then a robot appears and stalks Amy. She runs into a store and loses the robot and then decides to hunt for help. She runs into Sonic and they end up going to an amusement park where cute couple get in free. Amy then decides to help the bird get his family reunited. Total Stages: 3 Quest Score: 7/10

GRAPHICS-10/10
All the characters look great. The movies are even better, but the whole game has great graphics. The people look so well built. The characters are well design and the levels are just full of greatly designed environments and enemies.

SOUND-10/10
All the character's theme songs are very fun to listen too and the stages have great tunes. The voices are very well fitted for the character and are ear pleasing. My favorite tunes are: Emerald Coast, Windy Hill, Twinkle Park (Pleasure Castle), and the Hot Shelter. No tune is this game is that bad so you can enjoy the sound.

PLAYTIME-8/10
Beating 6 characters and getting all A emblems will take a good amount of time as being as many stages provide a challenge. Sonic and Big are the ones with the most difficult A emblems. I would say it will take 8 hours of game time to complete the entire game.

REPLAY-7/10
There is really nothing new, but I felt like playing this game 2 or 3 times immediately after beating it. This game is real fun and you will want to enjoy the replay as the game has many of variety. Also raising and racing chao is a little extra that can keep you playing for a long time.

Yes this game will give back more than it's money worth. The 6 unique characters will make you want to play this game very often. This game is less than 10 dollars so get it!!
