"The first capcom game for dreamcast is a success!"

Another solid game from Capcom and their world of 2D fighters, only this time it is on the Dreamcast! This game is a spectacular start for the second dimensional side of Dreamcast, of which I'd like to see prosper. I do not want 2D to die.

The Bad: The first grip is obviously the standard dreamcast controller. I like it, but not for fighting games, especially 2D fighting games. You cannot proporly use analog control in any 2D game, so you are stuck with the shabby digital control, something Sega didn't concern themselves enough with. In order to pull off the moves like a capcom veteran would, the arcade stick is REQUIRED. Also, the charactor balence is questionable.

The Good: But what if you are like me: a strategic button masher. You will enjoy this game at an unlimited extent WITHOUT the 50 dollar arcade stick. Although the game doesn't offer any ground-breaking extras (only a practice, survival and this Cross Fever Mode that requires 4 controllers) it offers a savior to the dreamcast's horrible fighting game controller. That is the "EASY" mode, which allows you to pull off the fancy moves (which fighting game fans with too much time on their hands have perfected) without the rediculous finger tangling that requires to much effort to be fun. This mode is available to you from the start, and regardless of what your human opponent chooses. (He better choose what you choose, or it will be an unfair match because in easy mode...any poor loser can be a winner.) Graphically, the game is true to the arcade (of which i played a great deal from day one). I'll enjoy this one even after I get my hands on SFA2.

Bottomline: If your a fanatic, get this game and get a couple arcade sticks. If you want another good fighting game in your liabrary (besides soul calibur which you should definently check out first), MVS is a good bet, even without the arcade stick.
