Review by Mumbly P

"Wow! An unbelievable game coverted to the Dreamcast. Need I say more? Ohh yeah!"

Soon as I heard of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater for the PlayStation was coming out in September '99 I was ready and my PlayStation primed! (If you have a PlayStation and do not have this game, SHAME ON YOU!) So when the game was announced for the Dreamcast after the success of the PlayStation predecessor, I had visions of spending hours trying to jump over the vert ramp, through the secret room, and continuing the grind all the way around the wall in the warehouse level. (Ohh the memories...), but back to the Dreamcast version. This game brings back hours of straight gaming, through the night into the next day gaming, the kind of gaming spree that only a few classic games can produce. The original Tony Hawk for PlayStation was one of these games. Yes I own the original, and now the Dreamcast version as well, but on any platform this is the game that you can easily pull all-nighters and never get bored. This is one for the ages. The game is an exact port with a few extras thrown in, and gorgeous graphics and that is all that has changed. But that is all that is needed. With Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 on the way, all us ''Dreamers'' need is this gem to tide us over.
On to the judging:

Graphics:
Overall, it is quite a nice little package for Dreamcast owners with a few extras thrown into the mix. The skaters' clothing has great detail as well as the shadows and bodies. And in certain levels there are little extra rooms to go into, like in the mall where there are bonus points waiting for those who divert from the beaten path. Nice
job Neversoft! Just a little clipping when you go parallel with a wall. 9/10

Sound:
Excellent! I would purchase this soundtrack the minute it becomes available. Love to pull a nine hundred with these great tunes. 10/10

Game Play:
Controls are spot-on and responsive. No doubt Crave and Neversoft really took time to utilize the Dreamcast controller. 10/10

Replay Value:
Wow, and again I say WOW! You can put in 40 hours with this game, and not even realize it. Most replay value for any Dreamcast game, even more than Crazy Taxi! 10/10

Overall: 10/10

Mumbly P's Final Thought:
Go to your local Best Buy or Electronics Boutique and buy this game now! This game will keep you busy for a while; even you seasoned veterans like myself. And remember; be kind to your skater, and each other.
