"Time to throw away your Playstation!"

If you were to create a video game in the action/horror genre there would be key elements you would go for. Blue Stinger takes place on a remote island off the Mexican coast where a strange meteorite has crashed. My japanese is about as rusty as my old Ford so I'm kinda lost as to where the story actualy goes from there. All I really do know is that you encounter a fairy named Mephallim. She seems to be a guide throughout the journey. Your mission is to locate and rescue any survivors from the meteorite impact. This is made possible by having a complete Arsenal that would make Iraq jealous. Unlike Resident Evil ammo is not that hard to find, simply pull out your trusty ATM card and purchase some from the numerous vending machines around the island. Also for sale in the machines are different outfits and varied meals. After playing for several hours all I really have to say is that Blue Stinger is a must have. the graphics blow away anything ever thought of on PSX. The reason I didnt score it a 10 is because of the slight camera fading. the camera's are run on tracks so they don't black out like PSX, but this also makes for some (not many) tricky spots of action. Stunning cinematics, outstanding level layouts, a mind-boggling amount of weapons, beautifuly detailed enemies, brain-busting puzzles, and an impressive score rank Blue Stinger as the premier action game of 2000. the only thing that gets to me is the fact that all of these titles are still First Generation Dreamcast. Only time will tell how long it takes Sony to pull a knee-jerk reaction to this.
