"How come Jack looks like a geography teacher?"
Firstly, I am not going to say that this game a Metal Gear Solid beaater. It isn't. Plain and simple. Its still one of the Dreamcasts more admirable games. It has a great storyline, great graphics and great controls. The game only has a few minor flaws but they will be said later.
Graphics - 10/10
The graphics on Headhunter show what the Dreamcast can do. Enemies are drawn brilliantly though they seem a bit generic. Textures can be a bit hit and miss. They look alright when far away but when you go to pick up/interact with an item the textures can be blurred beyond the point of stupidity. The bike sections look brilliant with cars and trucks whizzing by. You can crash into a car or wall and full speed and not fall off however wich kinda spoils the realism of the game.
Gameplay - 9/10
The gameplay in Headhunter is fun to say the least but can have its problems. Im not sure if its my copy but sometimes the game has a tendancy to freeze at checkpoints or loading screens. Certain objectives can be really fun to do. The Mall is by far the most fun. Not to many enemies to worry about but enough to keep the pace going. You have a big shootout in the parking garage with what seems like thousands of enemies. Certain missions may involve leveling up your licence, driving to the next destination on your map, (stealth favourite) defusing bombs and many others. All with large amounts of killing :)
Controls - 10/10
The controls for this game are perfect to say the least. Everything is within perfect reach and you dont need flexible fingers to perform certain actions. You've got a target button which is useful for sneaking up on enemies and snapping their necks. A target switch button. An attack button. A crouch button. Basically everything you need in a stealth game.
Enemies - 7/10
The only really bad point of the game. The enemies are all to generic. You've got your typical biker, the balaclava clad goon, the mask wearing scientists and the best of the lot.......Adam. He is a clear rip-off of the Tyrant from resident evil. He is huge and anatomically incorrect as a Ken doll.
Rent/Buy
Buy, buy, buy. Ya won't regret it.
