Review by Takezo

"Sega has done it again!"

This is one of the best racing game that I ever had (with the comparison of GT, GT2, Shutokou Battle, Ridge Racer series). I've been a racing fan since the first Ridge Racer came out in PSX. But this game is the best so far.

Graphics: 10/10
No doubt, its the best that we have right know in every platform. But this will be replaced by GT2000 soon. No pop ups, no frame rate drops (it is a lot better than Sega Rally 2 by locking up the framerates to 30fps and keep everything running smoothly). I can only wish that the next installment will include an original paint job (like the one in Ridge racer, by putting your own logo).

Handling: 10/10
The most realistic handling that I ever had in gaming! It is not an easy job to stay your car in control unless you have a very good feeling of your car. No friend of mine (racing anthusiast gamer) can easily handle the ''High end'' car (tuned up to the max) expecially with rear wheel drive (even after changing with appropriate tires). High learning curve!

Sound: 8/10
I don't really care about music and sound. But its typical racing sound effect (different from GT), and typical Japanese pop/rock music. The metal scraping sound (when body touches the sidewall) is really annoying and not realistic.

Gameplay: 10/10
A lot of people complain about the lack of licence test. The only thing that I can say: Try to get the first place for all the licence and you can say that you're good in this game. High replayability since you can enter work cup if and only if you've beaten the licence on the first place. You can get extra money and open up new special cars. Factory mode is an interesting approach that is never been thought by Polyphony (GT). You can customize your own car (engine placement, body, engine type). But you have to beat the factory licence first to do this.

Overall: 9.0 (close to ten)
If you're hardcore racing game and have enough patience to master the game like you master VF3tb game, pick up this game (SEGA will release this sometime this fall in US). Otherwise, just play your GT2 or RR5 and ''pretend'' that you're having fun with that. Because this game rocks!
