Review by SR-71 Blackbird
"The souped up version of Armored Core, or the way Amored Core has to be."
Although I haven't been able to play this game yet, but the flock of people playing at every game store has made me eligible to review this awesome game. It's kind of like the King of Fighters craze not long ago, except that this is robot-fighting.
Graphics
Smooth as hot knife through butter. I was ogling at the superb graphics that people hit me as I was looking. Everything is detailed, up to the pilot's cockpit mechanism. The background is so realistic and life-like, it couldn't be described. See for yourself. As a guide, imagine Armored Core without the jagged environment, included with z-buffering and a superb anti-aliasing job.
Sound
Even better than anything else. The sound effects match our imagination about the projectile that was blasted, for example that is. Somehow I couldn't hear the BGM as clear as the sound effect. Was it just me? Again, you got to see, oops, hear for yourself. I really can't describe how it is.
Controls
Well, it seems that everybody was able to interact finely with the game's simple button configuration. No awkward button settings or unusual button purposes.
Difficulty
Balanced but soooo, very hard towards the end.
Gameplay
With the many varieties of robots, environment and whatsoever, a long time should be spent on this one game. This game might be one of the reason to buy the Dreamcast, aside from Blue Stinger. You should enjoy it for a long time.
As I have said, buy this game when the US version comes. This might be one of the reasons why to like the DC. My two cents....
