Intro. (INTRO)
==============
Hello and thank you for taking the time to read my FAQ! I decided to write
this FAQ because I had played through Killer7 three times and was still having
trouble figuring out where several songs on the Original Soundtrack played
during which part of the game. What doesn't help the matter is that the songs
are not in chronological order on the OST. With some newfound determination
- along with a pen, some paper and my K7 OST - I fired up Killer7 for a fourth
playthrough and took notes all along the way.
I am only commenting on the songs as they appear on the official soundtrack, so
I will not go into detail about the remix of Blackburn's theme or the
piano-less versions of "Sweet Relief" or any of the songs from the game that
did not make the cut for the CD release. Yeah, I know that the music from the
Union Hotel is awesome, but it's not on the disc.
This guide contains MANY SPOILERS! So please do not read ahead unless you have
completed the game. I would hate to ruin the very convoluted plot of this very
awesome game for someone who is just starting out.
Hopefully this guide will help you place certain songs with the areas or scenes
in the game that they accompany. I also hope that my FAQ is a fun read, so
please enjoy it!
Thank you so much,
Tommy (pulsephaze)

This track listing is broken down by disc. The tracks for each disc are then

Please note that most songs were composed by Masafumi Takada (MT), but Jun
Fukuda (JF) has also contributed several great songs to the OST; each track has

Name that Tune. (TUNES)
=======================
Welcome to the body of my FAQ, where I will detail where each track can be
found in Killer7. I will break down the soundtrack again by disc, and then in
numerical order. Each track will be labeled with the Target in which the song
plays; if it's a common song such as "Rave On", which is played during almost
every Target, it will say "Multiple" in parentheses.
If a track is labeled with (CS) that means it was played during a cutscene in
the game.
And with that, we're off!
======
Disc 1
======
01) Setting Sun (Sunset, Part 1) (CS)
Plays during the intro movie to Sunset, Part 1.
02) A Fierce Good Fight (Angel)
Menu music for when you start a new game and select a difficulty. This is one
of Killer7's many great songs that are played for an unfortunate short period
of time.
03) Blackburn (Encounter, Part 2)
This version of Blackburn's theme plays in the Second House area behind
Blackburn's mansion. If I had to choose between this version and the theme from
the main Mansion area, I would pick this one; I'm glad they chose this for the
OST.
04) Where Angels Play (Angel)
This plays during the boss fight with Angel. It sounds like a remix of Akira
Yamaoka's "White Noiz" from the Silent Hill 2 soundtrack.
05) Shoot Speed (Multiple)
Plays in the Vinculum Gate areas where you fight new breeds of Heaven Smiles.
It also plays during the fight with Ceramic Smile in the Spinny Spinny area in
Encounter, Part 2.
06) Succession (Sunset, Part 2)
This plays during the somewhat tedious boss fight with Hiroyasu Kirahashi and
Shinya Akiba at the top of the KAKU Building. I heard this for about a half an
hour straight the first time through because I could not figure out how to beat
those old dudes.
07) Election Plot (Smile, Part 2)
Area music for exploring the school. Also plays during the boss battle with
Greg Nightmare.
08) American Diplomacy (Sunset, Part 2)
Area music for floors 1 and 2 of the KAKU Building.
09) Russian Roulette (Smile, Part 2) (CS)
This song plays during Garcian's game of Russian Roulette with Benjamin Keane.
Is it just me or is this one of the best cutscenes in the game? Garcian's
unwavering resolve is incredible (and Benjamin Keane's advice is timeless).
10) Geopolitics (Multiple)
If I had to label "Geopolitics", I'd call it "world map music". This plays
during the scenes where Garcian is traveling from one main area to another by
use of a clever little grid system. Another brilliant design choice by GHM.
11) Department of Defence (Sunset, Part 1) (CS)
"... should we launch the fireworks? Mr. President?"
This Metal Gear-esque tune Plays during the scene when American officials are
deciding whether or not they should shoot down the missiles that were launched
toward Japan. It's evident that the U.S. steps up and shoots them down, but
it's an intense scene never the less.
12) Back to the Light (Smile) (CS)
This rockin' tune plays during the cutscenes on the seventh floor of the Union
Hotel where you meet the young Garcian Smith and Johnny Gagnon.
13) Vote Falsification (Smile, Part 2)
Area music for a few places in the school: the Data Room (where Garcian has to
input all of Emir's personal information) as well as the Principal's Office and
the Chairman's room.
14) 3rd Foundation (Sunset, Part 2)
Area music for floors 3 and 4 of the KAKU Building.
15) Stoned (Encounter, Part 1)
Area music for the Killer Mansion segment of ISZK Land.
16) Love (Alter Ego) (CS)
This beautiful theme plays during the scene where Garcian meets Handsome Pink
(AKA: Love) after the battle with the Handsome Men in (a surprisingly empty)
Times Square.
17) When the May Rain Comes (Sunset, Part 1)
Area music for the rainy outdoor areas of the Restaurant Fukushima.
18) Resound of Silence (Sunset, Part 1)
Area music for some interior areas of the Restaurant Fukushima, as well as the
area prior to meeting Toru Fukushima.
19) Postgasse (Alter Ego) (CS)
Area music for the interior Shrine area. It also accompanies a cutscene in the
basement of the Shrine where some creepy kid duplicates himself while speaking
to the Killer7.
20) ('#') or ('tune') (Multiple)
This is Susie's theme. The Japanese symbol in the title means "tune" or "song",
but I prefer to keep it as the symbol because it looks just like something
Susie would say to the Killer7. Unfortunately, I can not write the symbol in
Japanese here, so I picked a character that looks similar. When you hear this
song, you know you're going to get a shiny new ring. And, seriously: How can
you not love a character that is a severed head with homicidal tendencies?
21) Sloped (Encounter, Part 1)
"Sloped" plays for about seven seconds in-game and was real hard to track down
especially given its minimalist and ambient composition. This can be heard
during the very short segment where you travel from ISZK Land down to the
parking lot before the fight with Ayame Blackburn.
22) Nest (Alter Ego; Smile, Part 2)
Plays during two of the larger Duplicator Smile battles: Once in the basement
of the Shrine in Alter Ego, and again in the Cafeteria area of the school
during Smile, Part 2.
23) Island Edge (Multiple)
Area music for the Coliseum, which is the run-down stadium-like place that
runs between the Gateman and the Vinculum Gate.
24) Betrayal (Sunset, Part 2) (CS)
Plays during the cutscene where Garcian speaks with Hiro Kasai in the coffee
shop before departing for the KAKU Building.
25) Errand Boy (Smile, Part 1) (CS)
Plays during the cutscene where Christopher Mills get assassinated by an
off-camera Linda Vermillion. Of course, he gets rubbed out right before telling
Garcian about his somewhat complicated past with Harman Smith when he was
living as Emir Parkreiner. So much for closure.
26) Oh My Julia (Sunset, Part 1)
Plays during the boss fight with Julia Kisugi. The last time I fought her I
beat her with Con, 205 shots to 23. High score!
27) Sweet Blue flag (Encounter)
Plays during both boss fights with Ayame Blackburn in Encounter, Part 1
(parking lot behind ISZK Land) and Encounter, Part 2 (garage area of
Blackburn's Second House)
28) Angel's Despair (Angel; Lion) (CS)
Plays during two very similar cutscenes where Harman shoots Kun Lan's Hand of
God where Kun Lan grabs the bullet and rides it to another building. "Let's
Dance!"
29) Reunion (Encounter, Part 1)
This little jingle plays once Encounter, Part 1 is completed. It's an obvious
nod to the song "Electronical Parade".
Disc 2
01) Rave On (Multiple)
This is Gateman's theme, and it is absolutely incredible. "Rave On" plays when
you trade in Soul Shells for admission into the Coliseum, as well as when you
make your way back to Gateman from the Vinculum Gate. I know I am not the only
one reading this that put the controller down and rocked out to this song.
02) Visionary Community (Cloudman) (CS)
Plays during the cutscene where Ulmeyda and Clemence play "Don't Drive Yourself
to Death!" It continues on through the scene where Ulmeyda is infected and
"killed" by the Heaven Smile virus.
03) Emigrant Song (Encounter, Part 1) (CS)
This song accompanies an incredibly violent and badass cutscene after Curtis
Blackburn shoots a hooker in the face. He exits his limo, enters a building,
*flies* down corridors and then shoots four more people in the face. If that's
not equally awesome and villainous, I don't know what is.
04) Sweet Relief (Angel; Encounter, Part 2; Alter Ego)
"Sweet Relief" is the general exploration theme for Killer7, being played in
several targets throughout the game. The version on the soundtrack is played in
Angel (most main areas), Encounter, Part 2 (area before fighting Curtis
Blackburn), and Alter Ego (Back Alley and back hallway areas of the Shrine).
05) Over Look (Sunset, Part 1) (CS)
Another great tune that accompanies another great cutscene. This one plays in
the kitchen area of Restaurant Fukushima where MASK de Smith headbutts a bullet
fired by a frightened Jean Paul and proceeds to annihilate an invisible Heaven
Smile behind Jean Paul without even breaking a sweat. Way smooth.
06) Cuisine (Sunset, Part 2)
It looks like Jean Paul was only pretending to be scared when he met MASK de
Smith in the kitchen! This tune plays during the very short (but somewhat
aggravating) boss fight with Jean Paul in the basement of the KAKU Building.
07) Sceneman (Cloudman) (CS)
Plays during the cutscene where Ulmeyda's head re-attaches itself to his body
after he has been infected with the Heaven Smile virus. It also plays
throughout the boss fight with Ulmeyda.
08) Multiple Personality (Multiple)
This creepy tune plays in Harman's Room. If you did not know this, you have
made me sad.
09) Residence (Alter Ego)
Area theme for the Grand Stairs area in Alter Ego, as well as the area before
Trevor Pearlharbor's home.
10) Windmill (Alter Ego)
Area theme for the Windmill Plaza, as well as the rear area near Trevor's home
that has several windmills in the background. Bust out that Wind Ring and
harvest that natural energy!
11) Maze (Alter Ego)
Area theme for the Lost Town near the beginning of Alter Ego. This is the area
where my man Con needs to use soundwaves to find the proper path through the
maze. Just watch out for those Laser Smiles!
12) Tecks Mecks (Cloudman)
This is the main area theme for Ulmeyda City, and it is incredible.
13) Corridor (Alter Ego)
Area theme for the Corridor area in Trevor Pearlharbor's house; this area is
after you use all of the color samples to get into his house. What an
egotistical dude.
14) Santo Domingo (Alter Ego)
Plays in the Avenue area of Alter Ego, which is after the Lost Town.
15) White Sugar (Alter Ego)
Oh, look. Another Alter Ego song on disc 2. How strange and unexpected. "White
Sugar" plays in the Housing Estate area of Alter Ego.
16) Margarita (Cloudman)
Plays while exploring Terry Street in the Residential Area of Ulmeyda Town.
17) Taxidermy (Encounter, Part 2) (CS)
"Trying to die in style? Give me a break, you sick old man!"
This is Curtis Blackburn's final theme that plays after he loses the pigeon
shootout with Dan Smith. Dan forces him into that twisted carwash type of
contraption that Blackburn used on all of those orphans. What goes around comes
around, man.
18) Original Personality (Smile)
This theme plays in the Union Hotel; once in the area before meeting Harman and
Johnny Gagnon for the first time, and again during Garcian's travels near the
end of Smile, Part 2 where the player witnesses the members of Killer7's
original deaths. Talk about a revelation.
19) Outhouse (Sunset, Part 1)
This plays in the various outhouses behind the Restaurant Fukushima, where you
need to choose the sliding doors that correspond to certain animals. Apparently
Feng Shui is all the rage, even in video game puzzles.
20) Elegant Petal (Sunset, Part 1)
Plays during several interior areas in Sunset, Part 1. What a gorgeous song!
21) Electronical Parade (Encounter, Part 1)
This is the main theme to ISZK Land, but this particular version is played in
the Squeaker's Attack area where you have to shoot the little mice in the giant
ring of cheese.
22) Hero Worship (Alter Ego) (CS)
Apparently Con is a big fan of the Handsome Men. This theme is played during
the cutscene where the Handsome Men arrive in Times Square to do battle with
the Killer7.
23) Heroic Deeds (Alter Ego)
This is the boss battle music for when Killer7 take on the Handsome Men, even
if that entire fight is totally staged. Either way... HAJIME!
24) Heroic Verse (Alter Ego)
This incredible chiptune plays during the end credits of Alter Ego, where you
find out that you were actually just playing an "online game" against Kun Lan.
The character portraits in the credits are incredible, by the way - how awesome
is it to see Con designed like Firebrand?!
25) At Parting (Multiple)
If you have died as Garcian, you have heard this tune. This is the "game over"
music.
26) Reloaded (Encounter, Part 1)
This sweet tune plays during an extremely short segment after defeating the
Ceramic Smile in the Spinny Spinny. It ends once you retrieve the Soul Shell
and Dan's Demon Gun from the Fallen Angel.
27) Fatal Bonds (Angel) (CS)
Plays during the dialog between Harman and Kun Lan on the roof after defeating
the Angel boss.
28) Ministry of Education (Smile, Part 2)
Creepy! This plays once you beat the pants off of Greg Nightmare, literally,
and he births out those pure black, genuine Heaven Smiles. This part of the
game is really freaky.
29) Soul on Ice (Sunset, Part 1)
Area theme for some of the lower interior areas of Sunset, Part 1; namely the
area after unlocking the door with the water puzzle and in the area near the
meeting with Toru Fukushima.
30) Host Personality (Lion)
This plays in Garcian's basement (man, that's big for a trailer!) when he is
chasing, and killing, Kun Lan dressed up as Iwazaru. So was Kun Lan *really*
Iwazaru, or is that just symbolic of something that my puny little brain can't
even begin to comprehend? I don't know, don't ask me. The music is cool. That's
about all I can say without getting a headache.
31) Dissociative Identity (Smile, Part 2) (CS)
This plays after Garcian busts a cap in Emir's third eye and finds out that,
shock!, he was all of the Killer7 all along. I guess what I really want to know
is why Garcian was carrying around a bright blue watergun in his case. And
wouldn't he have seen those weapons every time he went out to get one of the
Killer7's heads after they died? Either way. Sweet tune.
32) Reenact (Lion) (CS)
Rockin' music for the end credits proper.
