"The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess" Walkthrough
                     By Christian Terrell,  AKA Namelessbob
                                  Version 0.9
                                    2-11-08

	Welcome to my walkthrough for The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.
I've been waiting for this game for sooooo long that I still can't believe it's
here! I remember when we first got official news that there was going to be a
sequel to WindWaker. Everyone thought it would have WindWaker graphics. But when
we were shown the first trailer for it, we were all stunned. A few people
apparently cried tears of joy. I knew from the beginning that it'd be great, but
I didn't think it would be quite as good as "Ocarina of Time" or "A Link to the
Past." However, now that I am playing it for myself, it doesn't seem quite as
crazy. The Zelda series really matured with this game, and the Wii Remote was
used well. This is truly an awesome game. I really hope you enjoy it.

+==============================================================================+
1) Versions  ---------------------------------------------------------------
+==============================================================================+

  *** Version 1.0 ***

February 11, 2008 - I've had incomplete versions of the guide on several sites
                    for a long time. Today, after letting the guide sit dormant
                    for over a year, I have uploaded a complete version of the
                    guide. Picking up the controller and finishing the guide was
                    a lot like the beginning of Deep Space 9. The Federation
                    takes control of a Cardassian space station, and everything
                    is in a state of disrepair. Starfleet then has the job of
                    restoring the neglected station. My guide was like DS9;
                    everything was broken and I had to fix and finish it. I am
                    still in the process of fixing it, but the progress has been
                    amazing. If you notice any problems, please tell me. I am
                    extremely bad at answering my e-mail, so please don't get
                    discouraged and offended if I don't respond quickly.

                    So far, I added completed versions of every section, as well
                    as the second half of the walkthrough portion. There is two
                    new sections as well. This one, and the one covering
                    upgrades and sidequests. The section on other items is
                    incomplete. I plan to finish it by the end of the month,
                    along with an assload of other stuff, but whether I actually
                    do remains to be seen.

  *** Version 1.1 ***

February 24, 2008 - I have made some progress. The Heart Piece section is in
                      the middle being updated. I was not satisfied with some of
                      the directions provided, so I rewrote them. I'm also
                      working on integrating all of the Heart Pieces into the
                      walkthrough portion of the guide, but expect that to take
                      longer.

                    +----------------------------------------------------------+
Some people want a guide that will tell them the most
direct route to the next dungeon. Others want a guide
that will tell them about every upgrade so that they
finish with 100% of the items. I'm trying to satisfy
both groups by putting all the optional stuff in little
ASCII boxes like the one surrounding today's update. If
you don't care about getting every Heart Piece, then you
can skip reading the boxes.
                    +----------------------------------------------------------+

                      I also completed the Sidequest and Upgrades section. I
                      will likely add more stuff and reorganize it, but for the
                      most part, I've finished it. Success! Sort of! I completed
                      it by the end of february, but my internet was down. Still
                      having some problems, so forgive me if I don't answer my
                      email for a while.

+==============================================================================+
2) Storyline  --------------------------------------------------------------
+==============================================================================+

Taken directly from the instruction booklet.

Deep in the southernmost region of Hyrule lies a village by the name of Ordon.
Cradled in the scenic beauty of pristine farmland, the villagers or Ordon make a
living by raising livestock. Among the villagers is a boy who, it is expected,
will one day take over the responsibility of leading Ordon as the village chief.
His name is Link...

Trusted and liked by all the villagers, Link is especially loved by the other
children of Ordon, among whom he holds unofficial status as the leader of the
pack. Link spends his days as a ranch hand and learns the ways of the sword
from the village's lone swordsman, Rusl, in his spare time. He often displays
his newly honed skills to the village youths, which makes him even more popular.

One day Link is showing off his swordsmanship as usual, when a monkey appears.
"Hey! That's the monkey that's been causing trouble all over the village! Let's
get him," Cry the children. They run after the monkey into the forest. Link
rushes into the heart of the woods after them and is shocked to find that the
dark thickets are teeming with countless monsters. After fighting his way
through their ranks, Link rescues the child and the monkey from the cage where
they are held captive.

Until now, the forest had always been a safe place...

The next day, after much encouragement by Rusl, Link prepares to set out and
deliver the village's tribute to Hyrule Castle. Having never visited the castle
before, Link is in high spirits as he prepares for his journey, but when his
childhood friend Ilia notices a wound on Epona's haunch, she gives Link an
earful for being so careless with his horse. In a huff, Ilia leads Epona away.

Link tracks down Epona and Ilia at the mystical spring nearby and attempts to
apologize for injuring Epona. But no matter how many times he says he's sorry,
Ilia simply refuses to forgive Link. Then Colin, a young boy from the village
who Idolizes Link, steps forward to mediate the situation. Thanks to Colin's
explanation, Link is finally able to get Ilia to drop her guard and talk with
him. After having warmed back up, Ilia tells link, "Come back safely, and
don't do anything reckless!"

Just then...

A monster astride a huge boar comes crashing out of the forest. The fearsome
monster and its mount break through the gate to the spring and attack the
youths.

Caught off guard by the sudden assault, Link is helpless to stop the monster
from delivering a blow that renders him unconscious. Through the fog of his
half-conscious mind, Link watches Colin and Ilia get swept off by the monster...

+==============================================================================+
3) Controls  ---------------------------------------------------------------
+==============================================================================+

In this section, you will find info on what each button does, as well as how to
do certain sword moves and defensive maneuvers. Study up on them before playing.

+=====================+
On the Wii Remote
+=====================+

Directional Pad: Up on the D-Pad lets you talk to Midna, an in-game character.
(D-Pad) You can set items to left, down, and right on the D-Pad. Push
                 one of those direction on the D-Pad to use whatever item you
                 have set to that direction. The item is actually used with the
                 B Button. Basically, You choose what item to use with the D-Pad
                 and you actually use it with the B button.

B Button: See above. You use items with it.

A Button: This button lets you put away any item that you are using. When
                 walking, you can push it to roll. Rolling makes you move faster
                 than walking, and can be used as a defensive strategy.

- Button: Brings up the Item Screen. Choose the items you want to set to
                 left, right, and down on the D-Pad by pointing at them and
                 pushing the direction you want to set them to.

+ Button: This is the Equipment screen. Stuff like new tunics and how
                 many Heart Pieces you have are shown here. You can't do much
                 with anything on this screen because most of it equips
                 automatically. You can also click the save button in the bottom
                 left corner of the screen and adjust your options in the bottom
                 right corner. For options (I had trouble with this at first),
                 point at the option and change it with the ANALOG STICK!

1 Button:        View your map.

2 Button: Turns the map in the bottom left corner of the screen on and
                 off.

+==================+
On the Nunchuk
+==================+

Analog Stick: Move.

C Button: Look in the first person perspective.

Z Button: Move the camera behind link so you can better see what you are
              doing. When Link is near a person, the Z Button will "Z Target"
              onto him. When Z Targeted, you can talk to him from a distance. If
              you Z Target an enemy, it will lock on and make all of your
              attacks hit it as long as you aren't too far away from it.

+===============+
Sword Moves
+===============+

Horizontal slash: Simply swing the Wiimote from left to right or right to left.

Jump attack: Hold the Z Button and push the A Button.

Spin attack: Wave the Nunchuk side to side.

Vertical Slash: Hold the Z Button and slash your sword.

Stab: Hold the Z Button while holding forward on the Analog stick
                  and swing your Wii Remote.

+=======================+
Defensive Maneuvers
+=======================+

Backflip: Hold the Z Button, hold back on the Analog stick, and push A.

Sidestep: Hold the Z Button, Hold left or right on the Analog stick depending on
          which way you want him to jump, and push A.

Roll: This CAN be used to dodge certain moves. Just push A while running.

+=================+
Hidden Skills
+=================+

In the game, there are several Hidden Sword techniques. These moves can't be
performed until you have been taught the skill, so don't waste your time trying.

The Ending Blow: After you attack an enemy enough, it'll become stunned and fall
                 to the ground. To attack it while it's on the ground, target it
                 and press the A Button to stab it.

Shield Attack: Jab the underside of the Nunchuk forward as if you were
                 punching someone with your left hand (or right hand if you are
                 left handed).

The Backslice: Simply hold the analog stick to the right or the left while Z
                 Targeting, and push the Button twice to jump and roll behind
                 the enemy.

The Mortal Draw: To perform, put away your sword by standing still and pushing
                 the A button to sheathe your sword. They'll get up close and
                 leave their defenses down. When it says "DRAW" at the bottom of
                 your screen, press the A Button to draw your sword and give
                 them a quick surprise slash.

Helm Splitter: First perform a Shield Attack (Hidden Skill #1). Then, after
                 you do that, look at the bottom of the screen. If it says
                 "(A) Helm Splitter," then push the A button. You'll jump up
                 into the air and nail him over the top of his head.

Jump Strike: It's like doing a Jump attack, except you hold down the A
                 Button to build up a charge.

The Great Spin: If you have full health, your Spin Attacks will be much more
                 powerful. That's it. How anti-climactic!

+==============================================================================+
4) Walkthrough  ------------------------------------------------------------
4.01) Starting out  --------------------------------------------------------
+==============================================================================+

After you watch the opening cut scene, you will gain control. The man won't let
you down the path towards the city, so take the only other path. Soon, it will
fork into two. Go down to the small pond on the right. You should be with Epona
now. After watching the short cut scene, the girl will ask you to play a song
for Epona.

Look around at the ground, mostly along the eastern edge of the pond. You should
see some small patches of grass; walk over to one of them and press the A Button
to pick one. Now, blow through it by pressing the A Button to perform a song for
the horse.

Now that Epona is all happy, the girl will let you ride her back home. Stand
next to her and press A to mount her, and begin riding back. When you get to
your house, you'll find that the man who requested your assistance will be gone.
You have been left to find the ranch by yourself. It isn't too hard; just ride
down the path that the guy wouldn't let you take before.

Welcome to the center of Ordon Village. Walk around and talk to your neighbors
to get a good feel of what's going on. Apparently, the town has been repeatedly
vandalized by some Monkeys. Yes, Monkeys. Ok, well run straight across the
village and up the path on the south side of town.

    *** Quick Note ***

  I use compass directions a lot. Words like left and right change meaning
  depending on where you are facing, but no matter which way you face, that
  ranch will always be on the south side of the village, and that pond will
  always be to the west. You can tell which way you are facing by using the
  little Mini-Map on the left side of your screen. I'll use that as a reference
  as well.

+===============+
Ordon Ranch
+===============+

You should be in a big ranch now. Find the guy (he's in the center of the field)
and ride Epona next him. He will explain how bad he is at his job and will ask
you to round up all the goats for him. Click "Yes."

Ok, this is your first mini game. It's really easy, too. All you have to do is
get ten goats into the barn. The goats will run away from Epona, so use her to
scare them towards the barn. Just keep them between you and the barn, and they
will all eventually end up in there. Some will get angry and knock you off the
horse. Get up quickly and don't worry; you aren't actually getting hurt. And
don't forget to press the A Button to scare them away from you. It makes them
run faster.

When you are done, some fences will have been set up. Practice jumping Epona
over them. Just run towards them at full speed and push the A Button to get a
necessary speed boost needed to make it over the fence. When you are done, jump
over the gate.

The game will ask if you want to save. It's your choice, really, but if I were
you, I'd say Yes! Power outages, games freezing, your younger sister tripping
on the power cord; all those things can happen at anytime. Save often.

+=================+
Ordon Village
+=================+

When you regain control, climb down the ladders and leave the house. There will
be a crowd of kids in front of your home talking about how much they want a
slingshot. Another kid by your horse will tell you to go ask his mom for a
fishing rod he made for you. Nothing else to do here, so head into town on foot.

If you talk to the first guy you see, he will tell you about a bee's nest on
top of his house, and briefly mention that his wife is sad because her pet cat
went missing. Remember that! Walk back a little farther and you will see a
pregnant woman looking at the river. She will mention something about a basket
washing down stream. Remember that too, then walk back down the river towards
your house. When you get to the bridge (biggest one in town), walk over to it
(don't cross it). There should be a pumpkin patch next to it. On the other side
of the small pumpkin patch is an elevated platform with a man standing on it.

Walk near it and the man will talk to you. Ignore what he says and climb up the
vines. He'll point out two things; (1) he'll show you where that missing cat is,
and (2) he'll also point out that there are some of those musical weeds on the
platform next to his.

Hop over and blow through the grass to play a song. This song will call an owl.
Aim it at the bee's nest and push A to release it. The bird should nock the nest
down; if it doesn't, then try again. Then, hop across the pink roof over to the
very last platform. Pick a weed and call back your owl friend. Now look
downstream. You should see a giant rock sticking out of the water with a monkey
on top. The monkey appears to be holding something. Send the owl at it.

    *** Quick Note ***

  There are two types of grass in this game. The one with a small horse-shoe on
  the tip will call your horse, and the one with a green bird on the end will
  call your owl. It can be helpful to know the difference.

When the owl comes back, it will have brought back what the monkey was holding.
Hmmm. It's a basket. Take the basket over to the pregnant woman. If you
accidentally fall into the water with it, you can push it up to the edge of the
water by swimming up against it. When you get it to the pregnant woman, she will
ask you to carry it over to her house. Once there, she will give you the Fishing
Rod that Colin (the boy standing by your horse) made for you.

Now walk back to the guy with the missing cat. Behind him is a building with a
pink roof. That's the shop! We need to buy the Slingshot to progress any further
in the game, but the woman in charge of the shop is too worried about her cat to
do anything. Take out your newly acquired fishing Rod by pressing the Minus
Button, pointing at the rod, and pushing B. Then go behind the shop and swim
across the river. Then stand on the wooden platform near the cat and go fishing!

+==+ Fishing Basics +==========================================================+
1) Cast your line by pushing the B button and watch the bobber. It'll sink a
   little bit, then stop.
2) When it gets tugged down further, a fish is on the line. Unlike "Ocarina Of
   Time," the game WILL NOT warn you when a fish is hooked. Many people forget
   that.
3) After it gets tugged down (please make sure the whole bobber is under water),
   move your Wiimote into a vertical position. You don't have to wave your whole
   Arm up; just keep the Wiimote in your lap and aim it at the ceiling.
4) You might get a message saying that a fish is hooked. If not, repeat step 3
   again. If so, Keep holding it like that. Eventually the fish will be pulled
   out of the water. Congrats! You've caught a fish.
===============================================================================

This will grab the attention of the hungry cat nearby. The cat will run up next
to you and watch you. Go fishing again, and when you release the next fish, the
cat will snatch it before it flops into the water and run back home with its
meal.

This will make the cat lady all happy and such. If you don't have 30 rupees,
then go look for some OR use the boxed passage below to help you find quick
change. If you already have 30, then skip the boxed passage and read the next
paragraph.

+==============================================================================+
Now, you can find some rupees by running through bushes and picking up rocks
but that is long and boring. SOOO, go over to that house that had the bee's
nest on it. On the right side of it is a small path leading onto the roof
above the porch. At the end of the path is a long vine. The top used to be
blocked by the nest, but since we knocked that down, we are free to climb up
to the top. Once at the top, carefully walk out to the end of the branch,
where it splits into two. To the left is a Blue Rupee (Worth 5 Rupees), and
to the right is a yellow rupee (Worth ten). So if my abysmal math skills are
correct, you should have 15 rupees.

Now, jump down (you won't be hurt if you hold forward on the analog stick)
and run across the big bridge (the biggest one in town). Once on the other
side of the bridge, hang a left and climb the ladder. To the right, you will
find a couple of boxes. Climb up to the top of them and go left again. You
should see a big rounded wall. This is actually the roof of the Mayor's home.
On it is a ladder. Climb up and walk to the end. You should have found a
yellow rupee, which gives you 25 rupees. CAREFULLY drop down off the end of
the roof with the plant. Don't go all the way down to ground level; just
land on the lower part of the roof. Two green Rupees should be here, bring-
ing you up to 27 rupees.

Now you only have to look under the rocks for the remaining three rupees. I
can even make that easier for you! Just throw some pumpkins against the wall.
There is one rupee inside each. Also, there is one rupee underneath the big
bridge.   Aren't I useful?
+==============================================================================+

When you have 30 rupees, go to the shop. For those who forgot or are just tuning
in, the shop is the house with the pink roof. The woman running the shop will
give you your first bottle. It is also half filled with milk. You can drink the
milk to recover some energy (exactly how much I forgot, but it's probably around
8 hearts [that seems to be the magic number in this game]). Then, buy the
slingshot for 30 Rupees. After you are done, head over to your house.

Talk to the kids, and they will go crazy when they see the slingshot. Time to
show off! Push the Minus button on the Wiimote to open up your Item Screen. You
can set stuff to left, right, and down on the D-Pad as well as to your B button.
The B button has whatever item you are using, and the D-Pad has the other three.
Now let's say you push left on the D-Pad. The item set to that direction will
move to the B button and be ready for use. The item that was on the B button
will move to left on D-Pad. Make sense? Anyway, take out your slingshot and nail
all the targets, including the easily missed ones higher up on the tree. When
you're done, use your slingshot to kill the spider on the ladder, then climb up
and enter your house.

A blue chest should be inside it now. Open that up to get the Wooden sword!
Cool, now go back out to the kids and show it off to them. The kids will teach
you how to use your sword. Just remember that you swing the Wiimote to make the
Sword swing, you shake the Nunchuk side to side to do a Spin Attack, and
finally, target onto something with the Z Button (or just hold Z) and press the
A button to do a powerful move called the Jump Attack. Do this one as much as
you can, because it will inflict more damage, killing the enemies faster. Forget
everything else! It'll clutter up your brain with useless knowledge that you'll
just forget in battle. After showing off your mad sword skills, the kids will
run off and chase some monkey. Get on Epona (don't go on foot) and chase after
them.

When you get to the spring, take the path leading left. Cross the giant bridge
and enter Faron Woods.

+==============+
Faron Woods
+==============+

Eventually, you will come to a gate. Jump over it with Epona and continue along
the path as it bends to the left. Ride through the tunnel and get off Epona when
you reach an open area. To the left is a shack. In front of it, you should find
a guy who will give you a free Lantern. Cool, we'll need this. Head back to your
horse, but don't get on her. Instead, head to the left and enter the cave. If
you find the little boy's toy sword, then you know that you're going in the
right direction.

Take out your lantern, then swing your sword. Now you have a weapon ready to
keep you safe, but the place is still light because the lantern is still lit.
Make sure to light the torches (short metal poles) so you don't have to use a
lantern and waste oil the next time you come through. Make your way through the
cave. When you get to a giant spider web, push the B Button to swing the lantern
into the web. This will set the web on fire, letting you pass. Do that with the
second web as well. The tunnel will fork. The right fork is a dead end. You get
some rupees if you do go to the right, but if you don't want to bother, take the
left fork.

When you emerge on the other side of the tunnel, look at the map on the left
side of the screen. (If the mini map on the bottom of the screen is gone, press
the 2 Button.) The yellow triangle is you, and the red circles are points of
interest. Head over to the red circle on the upper left portion of the map and
enter the cave. In back of the cave is a small chest. Inside the small chest is
a SMALL KEY. Take out your lantern and use it to light the unlit lamps on either
sides of the chest. Lighting both will make another chest appear. Climb up and
open it to get your first Heart Piece (HP1-3). Save up five Heart Pieces to get
an extra Heart at the top of your screen. Who doesn't like a bigger health
meter?

    *** Quick Note ***

  Every time you get a Heart Piece, I'll put a weird code in the area. For
  example, on this Heart Piece, the code is (HP1-3). These codes are for the
  Heart Piece section. Look there for more details on how to use the code and
  feel free to ignore it.

Anyway, leave the cave. Head to the south end of the area and use the small key
to unlock the gate, then continue on to the area marked by the red spot on the
right side of the Mini Map. When you get to the red spot on the map, you will
find the monkey and Talo locked up in a cage. Nothing like being locked in a
cage with a scared monkey! Kill off the two enemies, then hack away at the cage.
After you break all the bars with your sword, they will burst free. Freedom!

+=================+

Watch the short cut scene. When you regain control, grab one of those blades of
grass and play Epona's Song. She will run over to your side; climb on and round
the goats up again. This time there will be 20 goats to deal with. Enjoy.

When you are done, jump the fence and ride into Ordon Village. Now watch the
cut scene.

After you finish watching Link get chewed out by Ilia (the girl), start walking
towards the pond where we first found Epona. The path to the pond will be
blocked by those kids. You won't get through until you surrender your weapon to
the little brats, so say yes and give it to them.

The pond will be locked by a gate, so we need an alternate route in. About
halfway between your house and the pond is a wide opening in the path. As you
enter the wide spot, look for a hole along the eastern wall. Find it and stand
next to it, then push the A Button to crawl through. If you are having trouble
seeing, push the C Button on the Nunchuk to go into the first person
perspective. I personally prefer it that way, but you might not, so try both
out. Finish crawling through the tunnel. At the end, you will be treated to a
rather important cut scene.

+=================================+
Mysterious Dungeon (Twilight)
+=================================+

When you regain consciousness, you will find that two things are wrong with this
picture. First, you are in chains. How did that happen? Second, and much more
obvious, you are an animal! How did THAT happen!?!? Anyway, fight against your
chains for a few seconds, then another short cut scene will take place. It's
time to get used to the new controls. They are pretty much the same. Swing the
Wii remote to make Link attack. Wave the Nunchuk to do a spin attack. Hold Z and
push A to do a Jump Attack. Speaking of which...

Use a Jump Attack to destroy the boxes in the corner of the room. Now look
closely; the bars behind the box are bent out of shape. Stand next to the
damaged bars and push down on the D-Pad to dig a hole under them and crawl out.

Minda will suddenly jump on your back and basically tell you that you're her
*****. Great. Now enter the cell next door. You should be able to Z Target the
chain hanging from the ceiling. Do so, and press the A Button to grab it and
pull it down. This will open a gated shaft nearby. Run through it.

When you come out the other side, Midna will point out a little ball of light.
Push Left or Right on the D-Pad to use your animal senses. Surprise! It's
actually a spirit. Talk to the now visible spirit. He's quite scared about
something. Next, head down the hallway. When you get to your first intersection,
hang a left. Head left at the next intersection as well, and climb up onto the
elevated platform along the side of the wall. Pull the switch at the end of
the hall to raise the water level, then turn around and head back to the last
intersection. There should be spikes on the ground along one of the hallways.
Swim over them and hang a right. Pull the switch at the end of the hallway,
opening the drain. The water level should go back down.

Turn around and head to the opposite end of this hallway (don't stop at the
intersection). The path will be blocked by metal bars, but never fear! Your
guide, namelessbob, is here! Look at the hole in the wall to your left. Push the
A Button to crawl through. Make your way up and around, and meet back with
Midna. After she finishes talking, look around. You should be near a tall tower.
Begin hiking up the stairs and try to jump across the big gap. You will fall,
but don't worry; that's normal. Go back up and stop at the big gap. Time to
learn a new technique!

When Midna calls out through the Wii Remote, push up, and she will appear on the
other side of a gap. Target her by holding the Z Button and press the A Button.
Since I don't know the official name of this, we will call it "using Midna to
jump." Quickly do it again to get back up to a solid portion of the stairs. Walk
up until you get to a slippery ramp and use Midna to jump up to the next level.
Head up to the end of the stairs and walk out onto the line. Yeah, rope walking
sounds hard, but once you are on, you can't fall off.

Once you have crossed the rope, continue climbing the stairs, using Midna to
help you cross the big gaps as you go. When you get to the top, kill off all the
enemies, then stand on the stone blocks to the right of the locked door. Now use
Midna to jump up to the top of the room, and leave the interior of the castle.

Walk along the battered walkway and talk to the spirit at the end. He mentions
where you are, if you haven't figured it out yet. Then look over to the left
and push the box up up against the wall. Climb up onto it and over the wall.
Next, kill the bird. Don't try to outrun it; just kill it now while you have an
open space to fight it. Just Target it with Z and push the A Button to do Jump
Attacks.

When it's dead, run across the badly beaten walkway while ignoring the next
bird. The walkway will get better, giving you an open place to fight the bird.
Kill it off, the step onto the small wooden platform hanging out over the edge
of the building. Use Midna to jump across and remember to hold Z the entire
time. Follow the roof around the curve and climb up the two big steps, then drop
through the window.

Climb up the stairs and head through the double doors. Enjoy the next cut scene.
Wow, This game is starting to get interesting! After you finish talking to her,
leave the room and head down the stairs, then watch the next short cut scene.

+=================+
Ordon village
+=================+

So now you are back in Ordon village. Head back to your house. When you get
there, kill off the enemies and head for the shop. Before you can leave the
area, a squirrel will stop you and say thanks. It'll also inform you that you
can talk to all the animals in the village. When it's done, head for the shop.

Go behind the shop (the house with pink roof) and swim across the river. Climb
up onto the dock where we first went fishing and slowly creep around the side of
the house. There will be two men here. If they see you, they will run away. If
you accidentally scared them off, just run over the big bridge, around the shop,
and across the river, then try creeping up on them again. Z target them and
listen in on their conversation. If they aren't talking about anything
important, carefully move closer. They should be talking about a sword and a
shield. After they finish saying all the important stuff, they will run off.

To get the shield, start out by running over the big bridge and up to the
elevated platform with the man on it. He will mistake you for a monster (look at
yourself; can you blame him?) and send the owl towards you. Stay away from him;
you can't get close without getting attacked. What we need to do is scare him
out of the way. Head over to the shop and use Midna to jump onto its roof. Hop
along the platforms and say hello to the man. When he sees you up there with
him, he will flip out and run away screaming. From here, use Midna to jump up
onto the waterwheel, then onto the roof. Drop through the window.

Once inside, jump down to the bottom level and climb onto the table. From here,
use Midna to jump up into the storage area with the shield. Look around with the
C button to figure out which wall the shield is hanging on, then hold Z and push
the A Button to use a Jump Attack on that wall. After you do a second Jump
Attack, it will fall down. Pick it up, then look around. There is a second
window up here. Once you find it, climb out.

Now head over to the pregnant woman's house. If you aren't sure which house that
is, just look for the house with a woman on the porch. Her husband will guard
the front door, so you will have to find another way in. Walk around to the
south side of the house and use your special wolf senses to look for a black
spot up against the wall. Dig through that spot. Once inside, go find the couch.
Stand next to it and pick up the sword with A, then go back to the hole and dig
your way out.

Now that you have both the sword and the shield, head back to the pond. Once
there, you will have to fight another enemy. Use a Jump Attack against him. This
time, when you hit him, you will cling on to him. While clinging on, tap the A
button to slash at him and inflict more damage. After you are done in the pond,
leave and head right, crossing the giant bridge and entering the twilight.

+==========================+
Faron Woods (Twilight)
+==========================+

Start off by walking forward. You will soon come across three Shadow Beings. I
recommend Spin Attacks to get the job done quickly. After you kill the first
two, the third one will revive the others. Wait around, dodging their attacks.
Eventually, Midna will interrupt you to teach you a new method. Simply hold the
B button to surround yourself in a circle of power. When you release the
trigger, all the enemies within the circle of power will be killed.

The key to defeating the trio of enemies is to kill the last two at the same
time. If the last two are both killed, then there obviously won't be anyone to
revive them. So put this new technique to use. Encircle the enemies and release
the B Button. Congrats, you killed the first of many Twilight Being trios.

    *** Quick Note ***

  You can kill all three enemies at once with Midna's Circle of energy, but it's
  easy to accidentally let one leave the circle. If you have trouble with this,
  you can always kill one of them off first, using regular attacks. Just
  remember to leave two of them unharmed. In fact, to save time, you can kill
  the first one off while waiting for Midna to teach you this new method.

After you defeat them, continue walking forward. You will soon come across a
blob of light on your right. This is what is left of the light spirit that
protects the Faron Province. You MUST talk to it! To sum up the conversation,
there are these gnarly insects that have stolen the light from the guardian. We
need to track all of them down and kill them in order to steal back the tears of
light. After telling you this, it will give you the vessel of light, an object
to hold the tears of light that the insects (Twilit Parasites) will leave
behind. We have to find 16 insects, so let's get started.

*** Twilit Parasite Locations ***

1, 2) Start by turning around and facing away from the blob of light. There are
      two paths. We just came from the one on the left, so let's go down the
      tunnel to the right. Use your special senses to find the first two Twilit
      Parasites. They are at the very beginning of the path. Kill them and
      collect the light they leave behind.

3) Continue down the path and hang a left at the locked gate. Find the shack and
   head around to the north side of it. Look up on the wall and target another
   bug, then attack the wall to knock it down. Quickly kill it.

4, 5) Now head to the other side of the shack and walk up the ramp. Get as close
      to the house as you can without falling over the edge and use Midna to
      jump up to the window on the side of the shack. Fall through the window
      and drop down to the bottom of the room, then talk to the spirit. This
      will make the next two Twilit Parasites appear, so hurry up and kill them.
      When you're done, climb up the platforms to the right of the spirit and
      leave through the window.

6, 7) Head back over to the locked gate. Use your special senses to find a hole
      under the fence to the right of the gate and dig your way through it, then
      Kill the two Twilit Parasites hiding behind the locked gate.

8, 9) Enter the tunnel behind the locked gate. Don't dig back through the hole
      mentioned above; stay on that side of the gate. Don't bother with your
      special senses in here unless you are hoping to dig up health. When it
      forks, take a left. When you exit, turn to the left and target the Twilit
      Parasites on the wall. Knock them down and kill them off like before.

10, 11, 12) Stand on the little rock sticking out next to the wall where the
            previous two bugs were resting. From here, use Midna to jump across
            the poison gas. When you get to the other side, walk up the path in
            the wall to your left. When you get to the end of the path, use
            Midna to jump across to another path. Kill the three Twilit
            Parasites here. 12/16 dead. Not bad.

13, 14) Now continue walking along the path. Use Midna to jump across. When
        you're done jumping, face the branches with Deku Babas (the evil
        flowers), and use Midna to jump across again. And again. And again. When
        you get through all the jumping areas, you should be back on solid land.
        The bugs will be underground here, so use down on the D-Pad to dig them
        out and kill them. Two more to go! Head through the tunnel.

15, 16) Another trio of Twilight Beings to kill. Off 'them like last time, then
        head straight to the north end of this area. Head up the ramp and talk
        to the Monkey spirit, then kill the last two Twilit Parasites. Congrats,
        you're done. You only have to do this two more times!

+===============+

So it appears you've gotten your human body back, and you got some hip new
threads to boot! Awesome, we are finally ready to enter the Forest Temple. Turn
around and walk down the path heading north. You will quickly come across that
damned gate. Turn to the left and find the guy who gave you the lantern. Talk to
him and he will give you the SMALL KEY needed to get past the gate. Also, if you
have 100 Rupees, buy the bottle of oil. When you use up the oil, you get to keep
the second bottle, which will no doubt come in handy. If you don't have the
money, remember to come back later. Don't actually refill your lantern though.
I'll explain why in the next paragraph.

Stock up on oil while you are there, too. You'll need it.

Head back to the gate and unlock it, then weave through the cave and exit on the
other side. Stand near the poison fog and take your lantern out. A monkey will
steal it from you. Don't worry, the monkey is actually helping you. He'll use
the lantern to temporarily clear parts of the fog. Eventually you will get to
the other side, and the monkey will drop the lantern. He will have used all the
oil in it, so I hope you didn't bother to refill the lantern.

Anyway, pick it up and go through the next cave. When you come out on the other
side, walk straight to the back of this area. Before you get to the ramp, you
can get some free oil to the right. Just dip your bottle or lantern in and run
off. But if you are like me and feel bad about stealing (even though it's only a
game), you can walk up next to the bird and pay him money for it. He will start
attacking you if you steal oil too often, so be careful. Also, he won't do
business with you if there are enemies nearby, so you'll have to kill them off
first.

When you begin going up the ramp, you will encounter a Golden Wolf. It'll
attack, and leave Link dazed. While dazed, a spirit of some sort will teach you
a technique used to kill enemies while they are stunned. Target them and press
the A Button to stab them while they are down. This is one of several new Sword
Techniques that you will learn. Head up the ramp, burn away the web, and enter
the Forest Temple.

+==============================================+
4.02) Forest Temple  -----------------------
+==============================================+

Welcome to the first dungeon of the game! You've finally made it to level one.
These temples are where the real fun is at! Start by running forward to the
other side of the room. Find the monkey in the cage and use your sword to break
all the bars, setting it free. Next, take out your Slingshot and shoot down the
spiders on the vines behind the cage. Climb up and go through the door.

Run forward and up onto the center platform. Kill the giant spider (it's called
a Skulltula) by using jump attacks, then look for the four unlit torches on the
corners of the platform. Light them with with your Lantern, raising a wooden
bridge up from of the floor. Cross and go through the north door.

As soon as you emerge on the other side of the door, you will be treated to a
short cut scene showing the Corrupt Baboon use his boomerang to destroy the
bridge. Bummer, we'll just have to come back later. Anyway, go back into the
last room.

As soon as you enter the room, open up the easy to miss chest west of the door.
Open it up to get the Dungeon map! Push the 1 Button when you want to look at
your map. Next, follow the the monkey to the west side of the center platform.
It will climb up onto a rope. You are supposed to jump off the edge of the
platform and grab on to him. He will then swing you across to the other side. Do
so, then head through the door.

Hang a right, and look for a small spider. When you find it, press the Z button
to hold your shield. Bump the spider, and it should curl up into a ball. A
glowing red ball. Get some distance, because it is about to explode. When it
goes bang, it will have destroyed a nearby wall. You should find many pots
behind where the wall use to be.

Destroy all the pots and you will eventually find Ooccoo. This weird bird-like
thing can warp you out of the Temple instantly. When you warp out, you will take
Ooccoo Jr. with you. When you are ready to go back, you can use him to warp back
to the room you were in when you warped out. This can come in handy for you. If
you save and quit, you will be put back at the beginning of the dungeon when you
restart the game. You can use Ooccoo to warp out, save, and then quit. This way,
when you restart the game, you can use Ooccoo Jr. to warp right back to where
you were.

Anyway, turn around and head the other direction. Burn the web with your Lantern
and continue forward. Jump across the broken bridge. You should now be right by
a door. Go through it.

The wind should push a bridge into place. Cross it and go through the door on
the other side. Immediately turn to the right and open the chest to find a
SMALL KEY, then go back into the last room. Cross the bridge, and go through the
door.

When you enter the room, you will see the broken bridge on the your, and a small
platform on your right. We need to jump across the gap between the platform and
the ledge on the right. The problem is that there is a Skulltula blocking the
way. It's too far away to use your sword, but don't worry! Everybody knows giant
spiders can't swim. Take out your slingshot and shoot it. It will fall from the
web and into the water, leaving you free to pass whenever you want. Jump across
and unlock the door. Go through.

Walk down the path. Ignore the broken bridge and continue down to the bottom,
then walk over to the pillar with the monkey cage on top. Roll into it a couple
of times to knock the cage off the column. It'll break open and the monkey will
be free. Two enemies will then drop down into the room and attack kill them (by
the way, they are called Bokoblins) While we're down here, look around for a
small chest. Inside it is 10 Rupees. We are going to be buying a bottle that
costs 100 Rupees soon, so begin saving up for it.

Now Head back up the path. When you get to the broken bridge, the two monkeys
will hang on the rope. Use them to swing across, then go through the door.

Jump across the small gap directly in front of you (the one with the suicidal
Skulltula mentioned three paragraphs back), then jump across the long broken
bridge to the right. Walk down the hallway and go through the door. Next, jump
across to the center platform, then use the monkeys to swing across to the
eastern door. Burn away the web and go through.

Run to the back of the room and head up the steps. You should see a weird
monster on the steps called a Deku Like. It will suck in and eat whatever
crosses over it. Unfortunately, we're going to need to jump over it. Turn to the
left and climb up the rest of the stairs. Hold the Z button to take out your
shield and bump the small bomb spider (Bombling). Grab it, then run down the
path to the left of the stairs. Throw it over the gap, and watch as the Deku
Like eats it. A few seconds later, it'll explode inside of the belly of the Like
Like, and the gap will be clear for you to cross. First, get another Bombling.
After you pick it up, quickly jump over the gap and throw it up onto the
elevated area in front of you. It'll destroy a big rock, opening up a new door.
Go through.

Once on the other side of the door, jump down and roll into the pillars by the
door. One of the pillars will have a chest with a small key on it. Get the key,
then walk across the green bridge while staying on the rightmost tiles at all
times. Once on the other side, you should notice that two torches are unlit.
Take your lantern and light them. Lighting them will raise two platforms, making
a path to the monkey. Unlock the monkey, then head back into the previous room.

Turn left and head towards the vines on the wall. There are two spiders on it,
so use the slingshot to kill them. Then, jump across and climb up the vines. To
the right is another bomb spider. Grab it and jump across the next gap, then
quickly (and I mean it when I say quick; don't even waste time adjusting your
camera) turn around and throw it at the next gap. Once that monster is out of
the way, drop down and open the chest for a Heart Piece (HP2-3). You should have
a total of two Heart Pieces. Now climb back up and go through the door directly
above the wall of vines.

This is pretty easy. Just keep jump attacking the giant plant. It will
eventually die, leaving behind one of those annoying Deku Likes. When that time
comes, look around the room for a bomb spider (I KNOW there is one in that room
somewhere) and throw it in to finish the job. Pick up the SMALL KEY and unlock
the poor monkey, then leave the room. Drop down and leave the next room as well.

You should be back in the room with the center platform (according to Midna,
it's actually an alter). Swing to the center and go through the north door. It's
the one leading to the long bridge that was destroyed by the baboon. We have
just enough monkeys to swing across. Do so, and enter the room on the other end.

+==============================================================================+
Mini Boss Fight: Corrupt Baboon
+===================================+

This is an easy fight. Start out by killing off the Deku Babas he cuts off the
ceiling, but don't spend too much time killing them because more will appear.
Then, follow him as he jumps from column to column. Then, when he stops and
throws the boomerang at you, run forward and roll into the column. He will be
knocked off balance just long enough for him to forget that he has a boomerang
coming his way. BAM! Hit by his own weapon. He is only stunned, though, so use
several Jump Attacks to deal as much damage as possible.

Also, I found that this fight poses much less of a challenge if you DON'T target
him. If you have a lock on him, Link will move slower. You will need to get to
his pillar as fast as you can; you just can't do that while Z Targeting. It's
also easy to accidentally perform a Jump Attack. Just don't target.

Anyway, rinse and repeat. He will be dead in no time at all. He will also leave
behind the Gale Boomerang, a handy little item that will get plenty of use.

+==============================================================================+

When you have defeated him, pick up the Gale Boomerang. When you throw it, a
little whirlwind will follow it. You can use it to activate wind-powered
machines and to blow out torches, as well as many other things. Also, you can
lock on to multiple targets with it. To do so, hold B to go into the first
person perspective. Aim at whatever you want it locked on to and push Z. When
you release the B Button, it will go to all the places that you locked on to in
the order that you locked on to them. Very handy. You will get your first chance
to test it out right now.

Head over to the exit. It's still locked, but we can fix that! Take out the
Boomerang and hold B. Look above the door, and you should find a little fan-like
thing. Target it with the Boomerang, and let it go! The bars on the door will
only lift up a small amount. Try it again, and they will lift a bit more. Don't
worry, though; third time's the charm! It'll open up the rest of the way,
leaving you free to exit the room.

Well, it looks like those monkeys are gone, so we will have to find a different
route. Turn to the left and head towards the bridge. They are wind powered; that
is why they move by themselves whenever there is a gust of wind. If the bridge
isn't facing you, use your boomerang on the fan above it to turn it your way.
Cross over and stop on the small circle of land. Kill off the Bokoblin, then
take out your Boomerang and lock on to the rope holding the monkey's cage.
Release the boomerang, and watch as the monkey hops off to freedom. Now head
south along the short path. Use the boomerang to shift the bridges to your
liking, cross, and head through the door.

Drop down and turn left. Jump across the gap to the left of the stairs and go
through the door over the small elevated area dead ahead.

Drop down and cross the bridge (remember to stay on the tiles to the far right),
then use your boomerang to blow out all the lit torches. Then, two platforms
will lower, revealing a hidden chest. Open it up to obtain a Heart Piece
(HP3-3). Ok, now face away from the chest. To your right is a wall. There are
some vines on this wall. If you want, you can climb up the vines and onto the
wooden platform to find a chest with an additional 20 Rupees to put towards your
goal of 100. When you are ready, leave the room.

Drop down to the bottom of this room and head through the door. Cross over to
the center platform, and use the Boomerang to cut down the chest hanging from
the ceiling to obtain the compass. This item shows the location of pretty much
everything in the dungeon. Swing over to the door on the left, then head
through. Hang a left, cross the broken walkway, then kill the Spider above the
gap

    *** Quick Note ***

  You can use the Boomerang if you're low on Slingshot ammo or if you don't want
  to waste Slingshot ammo, though you won't be using the Slingshot much after
  the Forest Temple. A better item comes along!

Jump across and turn to the left. Cross the small bridge and stop by the gate.
We have four pillars, each with one fan. We need to spin those fans in order to
open the gate, but they need to be powered in a certain order. This one stumped
me for a while. All you have to do is look at the floor. There is a line drawn
in a zig-zag from pillar to pillar. Start at one end and end at another.

Maybe the simple diagram to the right will +++++++
make it easier for some people. Target on 3 4
to pillar #1 first, then target your 'rang
onto pillar #2 second, etc etc. The + signs 1 2
are the gate.

That will open up the gate, giving you access to this big fancy chest. Open it
to obtain the BOSS KEY. You need a boss key to unlock the boss in each level.
Now cross the suspension bridge and hop over the small gap, then go through the
door on the left.

This bridge should automatically blow into place. Cross it and head through the
door. Look to the left and to the right of the revolving bridge. There are two
enemies. Shoot them each with your slingshot one time. They will run toward you
to attack, but they won't get far. The two Bokoblins will fall and die. Am I the
only one who noticed that all the enemies in this temple are suicidal? Oh well,
use the Boomerang to spin the bridge into place. Cross it and go through the
door.

Turn to the right and step onto the bridge. Spin it with the boomerang and step
onto the next bridge. Spin this one as well, then walk towards land. Use the
slingshot to kill the spiders on the vines, then climb up and crawl sideways at
the top. Drop down and climb up the set of vines to the right of the first set,
then go through the door at the top.

Look to the left. Out on a platform is a Bombling. Target it with your Gale
Boomerang and let the boomerang do the work. It will be placed right into your
hands! Run to the right and throw it over the Deku Like on the platform. Like
always, it will suck the Bombling into itself. The Bombling will explode,
killing it and clearing the path for you to jump across. Open the chest for the
last SMALL KEY of the dungeon.

Jump back to the center of the room and walk up the steps in the middle. Next,
target two things: first, the Bombling, then the big rock above the vines on the
wall. It is important that you target the Bombling first; it will not work
otherwise. Unleash your boomerang and watch as it picks up the Bombling and
throws it into the boulder for you. Climb up the vines, then kill the Deku Babas
on the roof by knocking them down with the boomerang before finish the job with
your sword.

Now, look out over the whole room. Go stand to the left side of the opening and
face the Bombling. Target and throw the Boomerang at it. The Boomerang will
deliver it to you. Throw it next to the rock in the center of the elevated room.
BAM! Another monkey free. Leave the room.

Drop down and move the bridges to help you cross the room, then go through the
south door. Spin the bridge and walk out onto it. Spin it again and go through
the door to the left, which is on the East side of the map.

Walk over the spider webs on the ground to lure out all the Skulltulas. Kill
them using the usual tactics. If they block your sword attacks, then hold your
shield out and let it attack you. It will knock itself off balance when it hits
your shield, leaving it open for attacks. Now stand between the two spider web
patches while facing the hole with vines in it. Burn the spider web on the left
with your lantern, then drop down. Free the monkey and drop down to the absolute
bottom of the room. If you want, you can find another Bombling and throw it into
the Deku Baba. When it eats the bomb and explodes, it'll leave behind at least
20 rupees. Now crawl up the vines and leave the room.

Run across to the door on the other side of the room. Enter it, and run straight
to the back of the room. There is a tunnel in the back of the room, but you have
to cross over a tile under which resides a Tile Worm. Just use the Boomerang to
yank it out of the ground and slash at it until it dies. Head down the tunnel
and drop to the bottom of the pit at the end. Kill off the Skulltula as well as
the spiders on the vines (called Walltulas). Crawl up the vines, take out your
Boomerang, and target the fans to the sides of the gate. Spin them to free the
last monkey, then go through the opening in the wall and hang a left. Jump
across the gap and open the chest for 20 Rupees. Now you can drop down and leave
the room.

Spin the bridge and head through the door on the north end of the map.

Ok, we are finally ready to enter the Boss lair. Watch the monkeys swing a
little bit before you jump across. Get a feel for how they move. Now, when they
are coming towards you, right before they begin to move away from you, they will
ark up extra steep. Jump right before they make that big ark, jump. Make sense?
No? Don't worry, you'll figure it out. It's just a matter of good timing.

When you cross the gap, break the pots to find hearts. When you slash a pot with
a fairy in it, take out a bottle and catch it. If you run out of health, the
fairy will revive you, letting you continue playing. When you are ready, enter
the door.

+==============================================================================+
Boss Fight: Diabola
+=======================+

This boss is somewhat easy. Start by targeting the Bombling with your Boomerang
first, then targeting one of the giant plant/pineapple things second. Let go of
the boomerang, and it should transport the Bomb Spider into the mouth of the
monster. BAM! Dead. Now repeat with the other. Easy so far! But wait, it gets
slightly less easy!

A third part will emerge, and the Bomb Spiders will disappear. Don't worry,
because the Corrupt Baboon from earlier is feeling guilty and wants to make it
up to you! He will swing across the screen carrying Bombling. Target him with
your Boomerang, then target the middle part of the monster. The boomerang will
carry the Bombling straight into the mouth of this foul beast. It will stun him,
leaving his head laying on the ground. Use two Jump Attacks on its eye, then
follow up with several horizontal slashes. Doing this one more time should be
enough to finish him off.

Some people (myself included) will find it easier to kill off the two plants on
either side first. It's such a relief to be able to ignore their attacks.

Some people might also have trouble with the part where you target the monkey
and Diabola. If the boomerang gets to the monkey when he is all the way to the
side of the room, the Bomb will blow up right there and never reach the monster.
Throw the boomerang while he is still at the end of the room, so that it gets to
the monkey while he is only half way across the room. Good luck, and enjoy!

+==============================================================================+

When he is dead, collect the Heart Container and enter the portal with Midna.

Finish talking to the light spirit, then turn around. Go down the wide open
tunnel to the right (but not the tunnel past the gate). Turn left as soon as
possible, and buy a second bottle if you have 100 Rupees. Fill your Lantern with
oil from the bottle (or save it if your lantern is full). I don't recommend
buying any more oil, because you won't be using your Lantern much for a while.
You bought that Bottle of oil for the Bottle, not the oil. As long as your
Lantern is full, you should be fine. When you are ready to continue, go through
the gate to the right of the shack. Welcome to Hyrule Field.

+================+
Hyrule Field
+================+

I'm liking this music! Anyway, welcome to Hyrule Field! Start by killing the two
baddies. Then, go forward and follow the path drawn on the ground. Stop when you
get to a wooden bridge, kill off any enemies that hassle you, and look at the
tree on the left. In one of the lower branches is a Heart Piece!(HP4-4) Use your
Gale Boomerang to get it.

Now jump down over the edge of the small ledge to your right. Walk around,
looking for a gold spot on the truck of one of the trees. You will hear some
metallic chimes when you get close to it, so use that to help you search. When
you find it, grab it. It's a male Beetle!

    *** Quick Note ***

  Golden Bugs are these little insects scattered all over Hyrule. You are
  supposed to find all 24 of them. There is a male and a female bug of each
  species. It's an optional side task. One will be enough to get the Big Wallet,
  which holds 600 Rupees. If you find all of them, you will get the Giant
  Wallet, which holds a whopping 1,000 Rupees. You also get 50 Rupees for each
  bug you find, and an additional 50 Rupees if you bring in both a male and a
  female bug of the same species. It's only 24 Bugs, and if you find one, then
  you know that another is in the same area, so it's easy to track them all
  down. It's up to you. I recommend getting at least some of them to help pay
  for the Malo Mart Sidequest, which you will learn about later.

Find the path again, then cross the bridge and continue following the path. It
will soon intersect another path. Hang a left, then look towards your right. You
should see a small elevated area with several trees tightly packed on it. Focus
on the tree in the corner. You should hear those metallic chimes, and you should
see a golden speck on it about half way up. Target it with your Boomerang and
wait. When the Boomerang brings it back, it will fly around for a while, so wait
until it lands. You can keep track of it by following its shadow. Once it stops,
walk up to it and push the A Button to pick it up. You found the female Beetle.
Awesome! Continue down the path.

Soon, you will come across the Mail Man. He will warn you of the dangers ahead
and give you some letters. Read them whenever you feel like it, and continue
down the path towards darkness. If you get lost and lose the path, just use the
mini Map in the lower left-hand corner of the screen to guide yourself into the
northwestern road on your map. Near the end, Midna will warn you that you that
it might take a while to become human again. Ignore her and walk towards the
black wall. She will ask you if you want to enter. Say Yes.

+==========================+
Hyrule Field (Twilight)
+==========================+

Ok, you should be a wolf now. Run forward, and the game will soon stop to zoom
in on an old stick. Walk up to it and press the A Button to sniff it. Congrats,
you remembered the Youth's Scent. Now, when you push left or right on the D-Pad
to use your special senses, you will see a yellow line on the ground. That is
the scent of the missing children. Follow it forward. Soon, you will encounter
another trio of Twilit Messengers, so kill them off like before. After you do,
Midna will point out that a whole bridge was stolen! It's time to learn how to
use the portals! The Warp map will automatically be brought up by Midna this
time, but usually you have to ask Midna to warp you by pushing up on the D Pad
as a wolf. Anyway, she wants you to give it a try now. Move your cursor over a
blue spot on the map. The name of the Warp Point will be posted in the top-left
corner of your screen. Click on the N. Faron warp point. She will ask you if you
want to warp there. Say "Yes".

+===============+
Faron Woods
+===============+

Look to the right. How interesting. It looks like someone leaned a bridge up
against the wall. How odd. Walk towards it and Midna will ask you if you want to
warp somewhere with it. Warp to the Kakariko Gorge warp point.

+==========================+
Hyrule Field (Twilight)

When you return, Midna will set the bridge back into place. Cross it and follow
the path to the gate. Dig under it and continue down the path.

+=======================+
Kakariko (Twilight)
+=======================+

Welcome to Kakariko Village. It's rather empty right now. Or is it? Looks like
we have some company. Kill off the Twilight Messengers (again, you don't have to
kill all three at once; you could kill off the loner first), then talk to the
light spirit. Walk towards it (it's in the pond) and talk to it again to get the
Vessel of Light. Awesome, now we have to find the next 16 Tears of Light.

*** Twilight Parasite Locations ***

1, 2, 3) Start by turning around and heading toward the circle-shaped house by
         the edge of the pond. Walk around to the right; you should find a spot
         where Midna can help you jump onto the roof. Once on top, step onto the
         circle in the center. You will fall down into the house.

         Use your senses to spy on the spirits. Hmmm. Interesting show. So
         apparently the shaman's kid (oldest child who lives in Kakariko
         Village) saw some sort of insects in the cellar. I guess we should go
         down and check it out. Walk over to the fire, and look around on the
         ground for a stick. Pick it up with the A Button, then light it on both
         sides.

         Now walk up the steps to the left or right. See those gaps? On the wall
         above those gaps are torches; in order to open the cellar, we need to
         light all of them. Just jump across the gap while sticking as close to
         the wall as you can. Don't push the A button to jump; that will only
         make you drop the stick. If it goes out, just relight it and continue.
         When you have lit all of the torches, the giant center statue will move
         to the side, revealing a hole in the ground. Drop through it.

         Use your special senses to find the three Twilit Parasite. Kill them
         and collect the Tears of Light they leave behind. Now walk forward down
         the bigger hall. You should find a room with some scaffolding on the
         wall. Use Midna to climb the scaffolding and jump out through the hole
         in the roof.

4) You should be in the graveyard now. Kill off the single Twilit Parasite
   here (it's hiding underground in the center of the circle of tombstones, so
   you'll have to dig it out), and leave through the only exit

5) You should now be behind the house with all the children. Turn to the left
   and cross the road. There will be a path heading up the mountain on the right
   and a shop to the left. Enter the fenced in area between the shop and the
   path. There is a hole in the shop wall. Crawl through it. Once inside, climb
   over the furniture and find the Twilit Parasite. Kill it and leave.

6) Head up the path now. At the end, you will come to an area where you can jump
   across a gap and onto a wooden balcony. Do so, and go through the door. Drop
   down to the bottom of the room and look around near the fireplace. Pick up
   the wooden stick, then step onto the small wooden platform by the wall. Jump
   off the side and through the fire to light the stick. Next, go and use the
   stick to light the fireplace. This will scare out the next Twilit Parasite.
   Kill it off, then enter the next room.

7) There will be two enemies to deal with in here. Off 'em, then climb up the
   stairs. Kill off the enemy, then go through the doorway. A flying Twilit
   Parasite will be hiding in here, so kill it. Then, head back down the stairs
   and into the room with the fireplace. Climb up the crates to the right of the
   fireplace, and leave the way we came.

8) Drop down to the road and cross the street. Head back towards the house with
   the children. At the end of the line of buildings, you will see a covered
   storage area with a wooden roof. Climb onto it, then climb up onto the roof
   of the house. Jump from roof to roof until you get to an area where you can
   fall through a hole in the roof. Drop down. The Twilit Parasite in here is
   hiding behind a box. Push the box up against the wall to scare the insect
   out. Kill it, then use Midna to jump out.

    *** Quick Note ***

  Awesome! You have collected half of the Twilit Parasites game! Not to mention
  the fact that you are half way through ridding the Eldin Province of the
  Twilight. Congrats! Now back to the

9) Drop down to the road and head to north (away from the house with the kids).
   There should be a small shed on the left side of the road, next to the Bomb
   Shop. It'll be just past the first sign for the bomb shop and next to a
   second, less noticeable sign. Climb on and look towards the shop to the left
   of it. See that foggy window? Jump through it. You may have to try twice.

   If all went well, you should be inside the shop now. Climb the stairs. Once
   at the top, look around for a dresser. When you find it, do a jump attack
   into it. It should fall over, revealing another Twilit Parasite. Kill it
   and grab the Tear of Light. Now stand on the dresser and climb up the shelves
   to get to the next exit.

10, 11, 12) Do a U-Turn and climb up the steps behind the building. Head to the
            left. Crawl through a hole in the bottom of the wall.
            Ah, more bugs in the fire place. TOO EASY!! Just grab a stick and
            light it up.

         Hehe, whoops...

            Leave the way you came. Well, at least they are dead. Grab the three
            Tears of Light and head back down the path behind you.

13) DON'T enter the bomb shop again. Walk right past it and follow the path as
    it zig-zags up the wall and dig your way into the house at the end. Just
    destroy all the pots. This will reveal the bug you are looking for. Kill it
    and leave.

14) Drop down to the ground. Use your map to figure out which way is north, and
    head that way. When the path curves to the right, turn left down a small
    path with a sign nearby. Welcome to death mountain.

+=============================+
Death Mountain (Twilight)
+=============================+

    Walk up the tiny ramp to your left and use Midna to jump up to the top.
    Continue down the path. When you get to the next area where the path is
    blocked, use the crates to the right of the wall to climb up.

    When you get to an area with lots of geothermal vents, use your wolf senses
    to find the next Twilit Parasite. It will burrow under the ground, so you
    will have to dig it up. When you do, it will move fast. It isn't moving any
    faster than it normally does; it just looks that way because it has so much
    room to run around. Get near it and build up some dark energy around you by
    holding the B Button to help ease the strain of killing it.

    *** Quick Note *** *** HEY! Pay attention to this one! ***

  Look for a stone with a hole in it. This is called a Howling stone. Earlier in
  the game, a Golden wolf put you into a trance and taught you a sword technique
  called the Ending Blow. There are six more Golden Wolfs, but to make them
  appear, you have to find the six Howling stones and howl a song through them.

  To howl a song, push up on the analog stick to play a high note, down to play
  a low note, and don't push it at all to play a middle-pitched note. For those
  who don't know, this song is called the song of healing. It first appeared in
  "The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask." Ok, end of history lesson.

The later songs will be more complicated, so I will post them here to save you
from the pain of memorizing it.

Song: ----@-----------@----------------
      |   |   |   |   |   |   |   |   |
      --------@-----------@------------
      |   |   |   |   |   |   |   |   |
      ------------@-----------@--------

After you play it the first time, you will need to play it a second time. Do so,
and the Golden Wolf will appear somewhere on your map. You can track it down
later as a human.

15) Anyway, continue down the path. When the path opens up, drop down to the low
    part of the area where it opens up. You will be ambushed! GASP! Kill off the
    Twilit Messengers. There are four this time instead of three. You will have
    to make your way into the small room-like area and kill off the one by
    itself first. Head back out and kill the other three the way you always do.

    When they are out of the way, find the gate and jump up against it to knock
    the Twilit Parasite down. Kill it and collect the Light Tear. Only one more
    left!

16) Climb up onto the flat rock near the gate and use Midna to jump up onto the
    path. Follow it, and when you get to the part where a wall starts to form on
    the left side of the path, stop. Carefully walk up the wide wall as if it
    were a ramp. Soon, you will be able to use Midna to jump up to the next
    area. Drop down on the other side, then look around the green area to find
    the last insect. Find it; kill it.

So, looks like we need to get the kids home safely. They, however, refuse to
leave. It looks like we have no choice but to save the Gorons. But first, let's
get some Golden bugs. Walk around to the back side of the circular house by the
spring and enter the Graveyard.

Run to the back of the graveyard and climb the steps to the elevated area. You
should find a male Ant at the bottom of a tree. Pick it up and leave the
graveyard.

Head north. If you are unsure which way north is, use your Mini map. Look at the
houses to your left. The third house is the only one whose door hasn't been
nailed shut. Enter it and find the female Ant on the ground.

Leave the house and continue heading north. When the road starts to curve to the
right, follow the Goron Trail to the left.

+==================+
Death Mountain
+==================+

The first thing you should see upon entering the Death Mountain area is a big
wall. Climb up this wall and attempt to walk forward. An angry Goron will stop
you. He will roll towards you. What YOU are supposed to do is wait. Look at the
ground below Link's feet, and when you see "Grab! (A)," push the A Button to
grab the Goron. However, you are far too light to stop him. Head back to
Kakariko Village.

+============+
Kakariko
+============+

You will be greeted by the shaman. He will tell you that you might be able to
get some help from your mayor. Looks like we have to go all the way back to
Ordon Village. Walk south along the road through Kakariko village. Soon, you
will be treated to a small Cut Scene. Apparently, Epona has been scared out of
her wits. When you gain control, at the bottom of the screen, you will see a
message that says "Hold This way." Simply hold the analog stick in the direction
it tells you to. When it says "Seize," push the A Button. Yay, you got Epona
back. After talking to Midna, leave Kakariko Village through the gate to the
left of the water near the Shaman's house.

+================+
Hyrule Field
+================+

As soon as you enter Hyrule Field, turn to the right and follow the wall until
it meets a split rail fence. You'll find a female Pill Bug on the ground under
some trees. Get back on your horse and follow the fence until you get to the
bridge. Cross it, and stop on the other side. Get off your horse and look along
the ground near the wall to the left. You should see a golden spot on the
ground. Walk over and pick it up. You found a Male Pill Bug! Six bugs down, 18
bugs to go.

Continue down the path to the southern wing of Hyrule Field. When you get there,
follow the wall to your right until you get to the entrance to the Faron Woods.

+===============+
Faron Woods
+===============+

I'm not going to bother walking you through how to get to Ordon Village from
here. You should know by now. If you are ever unsure of where to go, use your
Mini Map to help guide you. Right now, you want to make your way south towards
Ordon Village.

+=================+
Ordon Village
+=================+

Run straight back towards the ranch. You will soon see the mayor. He will invite
you into his house where, after talking for a while, he will teach you to Sumo
wrestle. Yes, girls, this is it; the moment you've all dreamed of. The day you
get to see Link without a shirt on!

Mayor Bo will walk you through it. After you beat him twice, he will show you
a blue chest. Open up the chest to find the Iron Boots! Basically, we'll be
using these to cheat against the Gorons. Jack Thompson was right; videogames are
immoral!

Go over to Ordon Ranch and tell the guy that the kids are safe. After you do
that, talk to him again and offer to round up the herd. After you do, you will
get a Heart Piece as a reward for being so helpful! (HP5-5) This Heart Piece
will add another Heart onto your life meter if you've been following my amazing
guide.

Leave the village and stop at the pond before entering the Faron Woods. Look for
the Golden wolf on the southern edge of the water. Approach it, and it will
attack, leaving you in a trance like last time. It is time to learn the next
secret technique. But first, he will ask you to prove to him that you have
mastered the previous Sword technique. Perform an Ending Blow by attacking him,
then walking up towards him and pushing the A Button to finish him off.

After proving yourself to him, he will teach you the Shield Attack. To perform
the Shield Attack, jab the underside of the Nunchuk forward as if you were
punching someone with your left hand (or right hand if you are left handed).
This will stun you enemy long enough for you to strike! Slash him with a
standard Sword move to finish. Next, he will show you how the Shield Attack can
be used to bounce projectiles back at your enemies. Bounce the magic orb back at
him to finish the training session.

When you are done, head straight back to Kakariko Village. I won't walk you
through it; I think you should know how to get there by now.

+====================+

Boohoo... Mini Boss fight!

+==============================================================================+
Mini-Boss Fight: King Bulblin
+=================================+

Start out by running north along the road through Kakariko Village. Build up
some speed and jump over the gate. Welcome to Hyrule Field!

This is where the real fight begins! There are two main phases to this fight.
This first one is really fun. The second one, not so much.

  *** Phase 1 ***

You have all of Hyrule Field as your arena. Just run up to King Bulbin's side
and swing your Wii remote like crazy. He can move faster than you can, so you'll
need to use some speed boosts to keep from falling behind. Don't use all of your
speed boosts; leave one unused. If you do use all of them, it will take a much
longer time for them to regenerate. After you complete Phase 1, Phase 2 will
automatically begin.

  *** Phase 2 ***

For this battle, you are on a narrow bridge. You have to charge at Kind Bulbin
and slash him with your sword while he passes. Sounds fun, right? It isn't. When
you charge at him, stay on the left side of the bridge. Before you hit him,
swerve to the left. While passing, swing your Wii Remote at him to do damage.
Don't use your speed boosts, because then you won't have enough time to attack
him as you pass.

When you veer to the left, you might go too far away from him. So, to counter
that, simply turn back to the right and try to ram Epona into Mark's side. You
don't want to actually hit him; you just want to get close enough to do some
damage.

When you get to the end of the bridge, turn around by holding down on the
Analog stick and charge at him again. It'll be a quick fight. Even with the
difficulty of phase 2, it's pretty easy.

+==============================================================================+

Well, we are all done here! If you have 200 Rupees, head into the shop. It's the
building farthest south on the east side of the road. Confused? Talo is standing
across the street from it. And if that doesn't help, then you can always try all
the houses.

Malo has taken control of the shop, and for the low price of 200 Rupees, you can
buy the Hylian Shield. To buy it, stand next to the small pile of junk on the
counter. Scroll to the left with the analog stick and select it.

When you are done, head up north and begin hiking up the Death Mountain trail.

+==================+
Death Mountain
+==================+

Climb up the big wall. Time to put those boots to good use! Walk forward and
talk to the Goron. When he begins charging at you, put the Iron Boots on and
watch the screen below Link. When it tells you to push the A Button, do it.

After you finish with him, begin your trek up the mountain. You'll see some more
Gorons charge at you. Give them the same treatment you gave the last one.

When you get to the end, walk around the bottom for a while. Eventually, a giant
flaming rock will fall from the sky. Sheesh. Go up to one of the Gorons by the
wall and fight it. To fight, hold you Shield and let him punch it. This will
stun him just long enough for you to use a Jump Attack on him. He'll curl up
into a ball. Climb onto his back while he's curled up. When he opens up, you
will be thrown up onto the path above.

Walk to the right and fight the next Goron. Make sure you are facing the wall on
your left when you stand on his back and let him throw you up onto the cliff.

Now turn to the left and fight the next Goron. Ride him and continue up the
path. You will soon find that the path blocked by a geothermal Vent. Don't
worry, the solution is simple! Face the wall, hold the Z Button to take out your
Shield, and jump sideways through the steam. (To jump to the side, hold the
Analog stick to the left and push the A Button to jump)

Continue up the path. You will encounter two more Gorons rolling down the hill.
Use your Iron boots to cheat, and continue up the path. Deal with the next Goron
when you get to him. He'll push you up onto a small platform with another Goron.
Deal with him (the lack of space isn't a big deal), and go through the door in
the wall above him.

Welcome indoors. Talk with the current leader of the Gorons. He will challenge
you to a test of power. Looks like it's time for Link to bust out his mad Sumo
Wrestling skillz! Use your Iron boots to beat him at a wrestling match.

When you have defeated him, he will explain to you that the leader of the Gorons
has been corrupted by the Fused Shadow, and has been locked deep in the mines
until he can be cured. And guess what! Looks like we are the lucky ones stuck
with the job of saving him. Wow, how unexpected. >_>

Run to the back of the room and through the door. Welcome to Goron Mines.

+===============================================+
4.04) Goron Mines  --------------------------
+===============================================+

    *** Quick Note ***

  Govinator pointed out a tip for those new to gaming and Zelda. When you save
  and quit, no matter where you saved, you will start back at the beginning of
  the dungeon. You might find it easier to either play through the entire
  dungeon in one sitting. The alternative is to use Ooccoo to warp out before
  you save, then turn the game off. This way, when you turn it back on, you can
  warp right back to the last room you were in. It wasn't a bad problem in the
  Forest Temple, but in this and most of the future dungeons, it could be.

    *** Another Note ***

   If you didn't have enough Rupees to buy the Hylian Shield at Malo Mart, then
   keep an eye on how many Rupees you have as you make your way through the
   Mines. When you hit 300, your wallet will be full and all future Rupees
   collected will just disappear. What a waste! Plus, the Ordon Shield has a
   nasty habit of burning up in the Goron Mines. Use Ooccoo to warp out when you
   hit 300 and spend them on the Hylian Shield. If you hit 300 and you already
   have the Shield, then you are out of luck. Don't bother warping out, as there
   is nothing worth buying at the moment other than the shield. However, that
   doesn't mean that you should stop collecting Rupees after you buy the shield.
   When you finish playing through the Goron Mines, you will need 120 Rupees to
   buy a Bomb Bag, so save up for that too. You may also be buying an optional
   item called the Hawkeye, which costs an additional 100 Rupees. You will soon
   be getting money for the Golden Bugs you've caught, so don't worry too much.
   Collect bugs!

Now let's get going. Start by running forward and dropping down the first small
ledge. Jump out onto the center platform in the lava. Now turn to the left and
wait for the lava geyser to stop flowing before you jump across. Follow the path
around and wait for the next geyser to stop before jumping back onto solid land.

Next, go through the open doorway-shaped area to the left and use your sword to
bust through the wood. Now look along the floor to the left. See the elevated
square on the ground? Step on it with your Iron Boots on. This will close off a
fire vent, but only temporarily. Quickly continue down the hallway, smashing
the wood out of the way with your sword. Actually, you might want to get rid of
the wood before you step on the switch.

Now you have to be quick here! You should soon get to another small room-like
area with another switch. Step on it with your Iron Boots, and continue running
forward. You will soon jump off the edge of the hallway. This is where you are
going to do a U-Turn to your right. Run all the way back, jumping over any gaps
in your way, then climb the ladder at the end.

Run forward and jump over the gap. Kill off the enemy here, then open the chest
for 20 Rupees towards your goal of 200 (if you haven't already bought the
shield, that is). Now, turn around and jump back over the gap. As soon as you
do, turn right. You should see a platform in the center of the room. Jump over
to it, then onto the other side.

Turn left and go to the end. Kill off the enemy that drops from the ceiling,
then turn back around and go the other way. At the very end, you will find
another enemy to kill, as well as a switch. Step on it and run back towards the
first enemy. This time, jump over the gap and turn to the right. Follow the path
and stop at the big mesh box at the end. Jump onto a small metal platform to
your right and put on your Iron Boots. This will push the metal switch down,
opening the gate. Go through the door.

There are two ramps here. One to your right and one to your left. Run forward
and head down the one to your left. Kill the enemies, then open the chest for a
SMALL KEY. Go back up the ramp and follow the other ramp this time. At the top,
jump onto the first rotating platform and then onto the stationary middle area.
Wait for the second one to turn, then jump across again. Finally, go through the
locked door on the right.

Follow the path to the right and kill the Dodongo at the end. It's good
practice. To kill, just jump to the side a couple of times while targeting the
Dodongo. Then after you are behind it, perform a Jump Attack on its tail. Three
attacks will kill it. Then, jump across the platforms to the side of the walkway
we followed down here. Kill the Dodongo on the metal island, then jump over to
the last platform, and finally onto solid land.

Kill the Dodongo here (you MUST kill it, so don't just ignore me), then grab the
chain sticking out of the wall and walk backwards. This handle is connected to a
sliding wall, and we need to get around to the other side of the wall and pass
it before it moves back into place. The only problem you will encounter involves
the lava geysers. You have to let go of the handle right as the geyser stops
spraying. It's easy; just look through the mesh screen on the wall and watch the
geysers on the other side of the room. As soon as they stop, let go and jump
across.

After you let go of the chain, jump back over the geyser, onto the single
platform, then onto the metal island. Turn left, then jump onto the next
platform. Next, instead of jumping onto the platform after that, jump onto the
walkway to the left. Run past the moving wall and go through the door.

This room is ultra easy! jump into the water and put your Iron Boots on. You
will sink to the bottom and be able to walk on the ground. Run through the hole
in the mesh and step on the switch. This will activate a magnet, which will pull
you out of the water. Hold back on the analog stick to walk forward and around
the curve. Go through the door.

There are four main things to do in this room. First, talk to the Goron Elder.
He will give you part of the BOSS KEY. We still need to find the other two
pieces in order to get to the Boss. Second, open the big blue chest for the
Dungeon map. Gotta love that! Third, open the small chest to the left of the
blue chest for 20 Rupees. Finally, climb the ladder and go to the right. Pick up
the jar in the center to find Ooccoo! Hey, I just noticed that she has boobs.
She even has some on her back. Like a necklace of boobs. Anyway, continue
walking along the path and through the door, but please, PLEASE do not get
confused and go through the lower door. You need to go through the door on the
upper level of this room.

    *** Quick Note ***

  You should use Ooccoo to warp out of the dungeon before you save and quit. By
  doing this, you can warp back to the last room you were in as soon as you
  start it up again. Otherwise, the game would reset your location to the
  dungeon's entrance. I know I mentioned this before, but I just thought that
  reminding you all one last time couldn't hurt.

Now put on your Iron boots and walk along one of the magnetic walls. Either one
is fine. Don't forget that you can still use your Sword to protect yourself, so
kill the enemies in your way. When you get to the other side, take off your
boots and go through the door.

Run forward and step on the switch while wearing the Iron Boots. This will
activate a magnet, which will pull you up to the ceiling. Use your Mini-Map to
see where you are going; it is extremely easy to get lost otherwise. You want to
go to the northwestern corner. At the dead end, drop down and open the chest for
a Heart Piece! (HP1-5)

Walk up the wall and back onto the roof. This time, head to the southeast corner
of the map. From here, begin traveling west along the southern wall. Soon, the
path will grow wide and split. Take the path on your right. Once you are above
the ledge with the door, drop down and go through.

Run forward and stop at the crane holding the giant magnet. Kill off all the
bad guys (they are called Bulbins), and step on the switch while wearing the
Iron Boots. This will activate the giant magnet. Walk out onto the small
platform west of the side of the center crane control area. Put your Iron Boots
on and wait for the magnet to pick you up. Then, watch your movement on the map.
Take off your Iron Boots and drop down when it stops above the platform north of
the center magnet controls. Run up the ramp and step on the switch to activate a
second magnet. This magnet will swing you over to the door on the north end of
the room. Drop down and go through.

Run forward to attract the attention of the spider-like creatures called
Tektites. The best way to defeat them is as follows: Hold out your shield and
wait for them to jump at you. As soon as it lands, use a Jump Attack on it. Just
remember: It jumps, then you jump!

After you kill all of them, jump into the water and look along the floor while
swimming. You should see a big blue chest somewhere on the west side of the
room. When you find it, sink down and open it up for a SMALL KEY. Next, swim
over to the southeast corner of the room. Put your Iron Boots back on and push
the block in the corner of the mesh box. Enter the box and take off your boots.
After you rise up to the surface, climb onto land and look along the wall for an
opening in the box.

Climb out of the box and step on the switch with your Iron Boots. This will
activate yet another magnetic beam. Step into the magnetic beam and walk along
the path on the roof. At the end, drop down and walk up to the left. Find the
switch to activate the magnet on the wall. All you have to do is jump down off
the end of the metal rectangle and fall through the beam WHILE WEARING your Iron
Boots. You will pass through the magnetic beam just long enough to be attracted
to the wall.

Walk along the wall. Drop down and open the chest for some rupees, then
wack the blue diamond with your sword. This is another type of switch. After
hitting the switch, you will have a limited amount of time to jump down and run
through the now opened gate. If it closes before you can get through, make your
way back up to the switch from the beginning and try again again.

When you make it through, put on your Iron Boots, and hike up the wall and to
the right. Open the chest here for another Heart Piece (HP2-5). Drop back to the
ground and climb back up the wall. This time, go to the left. Follow the path
around until you get to a rope. Cut it with your sword; this will lower a
bridge. Drop down onto the bridge and follow it to the locked door. You should
have a key from earlier in this room, so use it.

Start out by running forward and smashing through the wood. The path will curve
to the left. After that, you have a choice between following a path to the left
and a path to the right. Go forward along the path to the right. You will soon
come to another split in the path; head right. This should put you in a small
area with a Beamos (rotating statue that shoots a laser at anything that gets
near it) and a small chest by some crates. Open it up for a SMALL KEY! Cool, now
leave this area and run straight down the walkway. Go through the locked door at
the end.

Directly in front of you is a rotating platform. Jump onto the left side of it
and then onto the stationary platform on the other side. Then, follow the path
up to the right. You'll now be faced with a huge rotating platform. Wait until
it's not moving and the side with three magnetic squares faces up, then quickly
run out to the second magnetic square and put on your Iron Boots. It'll rotate,
and you'll be upside down. Wait for it to spin again before you attempt to make
it the rest of the way across. Do so, then go through the door.

Ah, the second Goron elder. Talk to him to get the second of three BOSS KEY
pieces. There is also a chest worth 10 Rupees on the elevated area in the back
of the room. After you grab the Rupees, climb up the ladder and walk around to
the right, then go through the door.

You should be back in the last room, but in a higher area. You will find a
magnetic strip along the wall to the side of the door. Put on your Iron Boots
and follow it to the end, then drop down and go through the door.

Smash the four pots here to refill your health before walking forward and
stepping onto the magnetic circle.

+==============================================================================+
Mini-Boss fight: Goron Elder
+================================+

This is a fairly easy mini-boss fight! Start off by waiting. Right before the
Goron attacks, he'll expose his belly. Slash away! One Jump attack should do
the trick! This will hurt him enough to make him curl up like a baby.

A baby that can KILL YOU!!

But he is still only a big baby. Stand right next to him (and I mean RIGHT NEXT
to him), put your Iron Boots on, and grab him with A, throwing him into the
lava. But be quick, because if you aren't, he'll charge at you and cause some
hefty damage! If you want, you could also run away after he curls up into a ball
and let him roll towards you. Then you just have to tap the A Button when he
gets close, like the Gorons on the Death Mountain Trail.

If you are standing near him and you can't grab him with the A Button, then you
aren't close enough.

Do this three or four times, and he'll be defeated!

+==============================================================================+

After you have defeated him, he'll open up and listen. After talking to him,
he'll let you pass into the next room where there is some special weapon. Go
through the door behind him (it'll be the southern door).

Run forward and open the chest to get the Hero's Bow! To use, hold the B button
and aim at what you want to shoot, then release the B Button to send the arrow
flying. You get to test it out right now, too! Look at the wall behind the
chest. There is a big metal plate. Aim the bow at the little yellow thing above
the metal plate and shoot. This will snap the rope holding the metal plate in
place, letting it fall and forming a bridge! How convenient!

Cross the bridge and run straight across this next room. At the end, you will be
blocked by a Beamos (the thing that shoots the laser). Stand right behind the
torches and shoot its eye with the Hero's Bow. From where you are standing, you
have a clear shot at all the other ones as well, so take them down. Now, stand
next to the one on the east side of the room. Grab it and pull it forward. Go
behind it and open the chest to get the Compass! Next, pull the one on the West
side of the room forward and go through the door behind it.

    *** Quick Note ***

  If you really want the Rupees, you can break the jars and barrels behind the
  other statues. You can usually find 10 Rupees in every "room."

Woot! The last BOSS KEY piece! You have fully assembled the BOSS KEY. There is
also a chest in the back of the room with 50 Rupees in it, so grab that before
you leave, then go back through the door.

Head to the left (north) through the room, past where we got the Hero's Bow, and
through the door. You should be back in the Mini-Boss room. Cross it and go
through the next door as well.

    *** Quick Note ***

  Instead of heading north, you could go south through another room and into the
  central Crane room. To the right of the door in the Crane room is a chest with
  50 Rupees in it. You could go that way if you want, but I personally don't
  think it's worth the pain in the ass. The choice is up to you.

If you ignored the Quick Note, you should be back in the room with the rotating
platforms. To the left is a chest with 10 Rupees. Grab that if you missed it
before, then jump into the water and swim to the northeastern corner of the
room. Climb onto land and walk up the ramp, then go through the door.

Ah, this room again. It was and always will be a pain to write about. Run
forward and kill the Beamos at the end. ** Remember this spot **
Now walk around, using your Bow to kill off all of the Bulbins (horned enemies
with bows and arrows) that you can. You will soon hear more enemies, but there
will be none in sight. Ignore them for now.

Now that all the enemies are killed, go back to the spot I told you to remember.
Pull the Beamos forward as far as it will go to open a hidden door. Go through
and follow the path up to a new part of the room. Continue following the path
until you get to two more enemies. Kill them with your arrows (You can kill both
with one shot; just get far back and shoot between them), then go up to where
they were and turn left. Go around the machinery and step on the switch to
activate the Magnet.

Jump down through the gap in the rail and onto the platform below. Stand there
while wearing your Iron Boots and wait to be picked up. When you are, take out
your Bow and Arrows while on the magnet and, when it brings you to another metal
plate on the wall, shoot the rope. Then, drop down onto the big metal slab. You
will probably have to wait for the magnet to come back to it, as it begins
moving as soon as the slab falls. Once on the metal slab, go through the door.

    *** Quick Note ***

  Just so you know, if you need to restock on Arrows, health, or if you want to
  catch a fairy in a bottle, then walk along the wooden path to the left of the
  door mentioned right above. It will lead you to some supplies.

The last room before the boss. Follow the path down and kill the enemies with
arrows before they kill you. The ones armed with maces should be taken out with
a sword (because if you use your bow you'll waste too many arrows).

    *** Quick Note ***

  Sometime, shooting arrows at enemies who are also armed with a Bow can be
  tough, because he'll hit you before you hit him. The solution is simple: hold
  the Z Button down and walk to the side. You can continue to aim while you
  dodge his arrows. Try it out sometime.

Shoot the string holding the metal bridge in place. You'll be swarmed by more
enemies. Shake your nunchuk to perform a Spin Attack. This move will kill them
all rather quickly. Go through the door.

+==============================================================================+
Boss fight: Fyrus
+=====================+

This is a fun battle. A bit easy though. Just shoot the shining spot on his head
with your Bow and Arrow. He'll be stunned long enough for you to run up to one
of the chains hanging from his feet, put your Iron Boots on, then grab the
handle at the end of the chain. He will start walking away; you must respond by
backing away from him while holding the chain. He'll fall over, giving you the
perfect chance to run up to his head and have a field day. Slash at his forehead
with your sword as much as you can.

Rinse and repeat.

If you are having trouble grabbing the handle on the chains, you can run up to
the middle of the chain and put your Iron Boots on there. When he starts
walking, grab the handle as it passes you.

And remember, if you Z Target him, your sword will be more likely to hit its
target.

+==============================================================================+

After that, you will be treated to another Heart Piece and a touching little
cut scene. How sweet (barf).

+==============================================+
4.05) Getting to the Lakebed Temple -------
+==============================================+

Well, now we have to save the Lanayru Province from the Twilight. But before we
do that, we're going to get a couple of things like Bombs, Golden Bugs, and
Heart Pieces, as well begin collecting the yet another collectable: Poe Spirits.
Let's start with the bombs.

Hopefully you have 120 Rupees ready. If you don't, then continue playing for a
while. We don't need them just yet. They can wait until we enter the Lakebed
Temple. Whenever you are ready to buy them, head over to the bomb shop. Walk
inside and attempt to buy some bombs. He'll try to sell you a bomb bag for 120.
Accept. Yay, you got bombs! Now leave.

You have a choice. You can either read the boxed passage below to get three more
Heart Pieces, or you could skip it and go straight to Hyrule Field through the
north exit. It's totally up to you, but I'd get the Heart Pieces. Also, if you
want to buy the Hawkeye for 100 Rupees, you have to get the third Heart Piece
mentioned below.

+==============================================================================+
Head back to the small pond. To the left of it is a big boulder blocking a
cave. Blow it up with a Bomb and enter the cave. If you need Rupees, there
are several in the wooden crate. Just smash it open with your sword. Anyway,
follow the cave around to the hidden part of the pond and jump in. Put on
your Iron Boots and quickly walk over to the chest at the bottom. Open it up
for the next Heart Piece (HP3-6). Credit for this Heart Piece, as well as
the next two, goes to Steveinator.

Next, look up on the very top of the wall over the cave mentioned above. You
should see some boulders. Push the Minus button and point at the bombs, then
Push the Z button to make an Arrow/Bomb combination. Shoot the boulders,
revealing the next Heart Piece. Use your Gale Boomerang to bring it down to
you. (HP4-6)

Now for the third Heart Piece. This one is a little harder. Talk to the
Goron in front of the Bomb Shop (it must be the Goron in front of the Bomb
Shop, so don't just talk to any old Goron) and let him throw you onto the
roof. Climb onto the top of the roof and follow the path to the right once
you pass the stairs. When you get to the house, use the Goron to push you up
again. Climb the ladder and talk to the Talo. He'll ask you to show off your
1337 Bow n' Arrow skillz. Say yes. You'll appear by the spring with Malo.
Shoot the first two targets; Not too hard! Then, you need to shoot the third
target. It's a skinny little pole up by Talo. You can put away your Bow and
move a little bit closer. If you look hard (or if your TV is big), you can
see the pole. Just line up the dot with the little line. As an award for
being great, you'll get another Heart Piece (HP5-7).
+==============================================================================+

When you are done, you can go to the local Malo Mart and buy the Hawkeye for 100
Rupees. However, you have to have obtained the third Heart Piece mentioned
above.

Once you have done everything you can do in Kakariko Village, blow through the
Horse Grass by the pond to call Epona. Hop on, and use her to jump over the
northern gate and onto the west Hyrule Field.

+================+
Hyrule Field
+================+

Ride Epona forward and look along the left side of this stone area for a big
stone ramp that looks like a wooden log. It will be just past where the mailman
greets you. If you head up the ramp, you can get a Heart Piece. Read the boxed
passage below for details, or skip the boxed passage and ignore the Heart Piece.
Yet another choice I have left to you.

+==============================================================================+
Use Bombs to destroy the rock at the bottom of the ramp and climb on. Walk
up the ramp-like area and jump over the gap at the end. Climb up the vines,
then turn left. Jump down to the area below, then walk forward and take out
a Bomb/Arrow combination. Destroy the rock above the vines with the
Bomb arrow and jump across. You should grab onto the vines before falling
too far. Climb up to the top, then run forward towards the wall in front of
you. Then, jump of the left side of the path and run north towards the
chest. Open the chest to get another Heart Piece! (HP1-7)
+==============================================================================+

Hop back on Epona and run forward. As soon as you get off of this stone-like
area, look for a golden spot on the ground in front of you and slightly to the
left. Slowly sneak up on it and grab it. You got a Male Grasshopper! Get back on
Epona and run to the north side of this field. Find the big stone bridge (you
can see it on the map; it's the big stick projecting out to the north). When you
get there, look on the inside of the the arch forming the entrance to the
bridge. You should see a gold spot on the left side of the arch. Use the Gale
Boomerang to yank it towards you. You got another Golden Bug! It's a Male
Phasmid.

Cross the bridge and follow the path. It'll soon be blocked by rocks. Blow them
up with a Bomb, but don't continue down the path. Instead, turn left and follow
the big mountain wall. High up on the wall is a Golden Bug. Locate it (you can
usually see it as you get closer) and use your Gale Boomerang to bring it down
to earth. It's a Female Phasmid!

Next, walk put onto the bridge. Kill off the Twilit Messengers with Spin
Attacks. It only takes two Spin Attacks, but you must get all three of them at
the same time. After you defeat them, get back on Epona and ride down the path
formerly blocked by rocks.

At the very end of the path, you can enter the Twilight. Please do so.

Hyrule Field (Twilight)
+===========================+

This will be the hardest Twilight yet, but it's also the last time you will see
it. Or is it? Run forward. You will soon find a pink purse. Sniff it to learn
Ilia's scent, then use your special wolf senses to find and follow it.

Follow it all the way into Castle Town. How will you know when you're in Castle
Town, you ask? The game will tell you, but other than that, you will see a LOT
of spirits and it goes into a fixed camera mode.

+==========================+
Castle Town (Twilight)
+==========================+

Continue following Ilia's scent all the way until it ends at an OPEN door. The
scent will go through a closed door about half way through. If you look at the
sign next to the door, it should say "Medical Clinic." Notice how it comes back
out of the door as well? Continue following the part that comes out through the
closed door. The open door is the entrance to Telma's Bar. Don't forget where
this is. We'll be making several trips here in the future. Anyway, where was I?
Oh yes! Enter Telma's Bar.

First, run to the very back of the room. There should be some soldiers talking.
Listen to them if you want, then look at the table to the right. Going up to it
and pressing the A button will mark a spot on your map. This might come in handy
later, depending on whether you use a guide the entire time or not. Now go back
towards the front of the Bar and listen to the spirits (Telma and Ilia) there.

Now it's time to get to work. The red spot on your map is where we'll find the
Vessel of light. To get there, start by leaving Telma's Bar. Follow Ilia's Scent
out of Castle Town. Stop following her scent as soon as you are out of Castle
Town. If you don't, it'll lead you in the wrong direction.

+===========================+
Hyrule Field (Twilight)
+===========================+

You should be on a wooden bridge right now. Run across the bridge and continue
going straight. You should quickly be blocked by a big dirt wall. Turn left and
follow the wall to a path heading east through the wall. Follow it.

Continue following the path. Follow it to the right whenever it forks, until you
get to the Great Bridge of Hylia. Begin crossing it. You will soon be
interrupted by a cut-scene. The bridge will be set on fire and you have to get
off before you are burned alive. Find the box to your left and push it up
against the wall. Don't push it to the left or right; just shove it against the
wall. Use it to climb up and over the edge of the bridge. There will be a small
pond below you, so you won't die from the fall. Just jump.

+=========================+
Lake Hylia (Twilight)
+=========================+

Apparently, this pond is Lake Hylia. Climb up onto land and run west. When you
get to a house, talk to the spirit in front of it. For a clown, he doesn't seem
too happy. Anyway, he'll point out a monster. Run east towards this monster.

This is so easy. He'll be picked up by a Twilit Kargaroc. Walk back a little bit
and wait for the bird to swoop down. When he is low enough to the ground, push
the A Button to dash forward and grab onto him. Rapidly tap the A button to
attack the bird. Doing this twice will nock him off the bird. All you have to do
now is kill him off like normal. After that, Midna will seize control of the
bird.

+===========================+
Zora's River (Twilight)
+===========================+

Now you two will go flying up Zora's River. Think of this as a mini-game. You
control the bird by pointing at the screen and pushing the A button to dash. If
you hit a wall, you will fall off the bird and die. It's easier than it seems.
Enjoy!

+=================================+
Upper Zora's River (Twilight)
+=================================+

Welcome to the upper portion of Zora's River. I have gotten several e-mails from
people who need to get back to Lake Hylia, but can't because they didn't
activate the portal (you'll activate the portal later in the game). If you are a
part of that group, then don't worry! There is a way down. Just find a patch of
Howling grass by the entrance to the main river. It'll call over a bird to take
you back down.

With that said, let's move on. Start by jumping down into the crack and
following the dried up riverbed east.

+============================+
Zora's Domain (Twilight)
+============================+

Welcome to Zora's Domain. It's frozen over. How original. >_>

Anyway, find the giant frozen waterfall. Use Midna to jump up, then follow the
path. When it ends, turn around and use Midna to jump up to a higher portion of
the waterfall, but be careful! Two pieces of ice will fall off, and if you go
up too quickly, you will fall and have to start over. Wait a second before
jumping.

At the end, run to the back of the cave and enter the indoor part of Zora's
Domain. Another trio of Twilit Messengers. Kill them off. A portal will open up,
and Midna will offer to warp you out. First, walk in to the center of the room
and push up on the D-Pad. Midna will tell you to look down. Push the C Button on
the Nunchuk, and look down. Now push left or right on the D-pad to use your
special senses.  Whoo... Creepy!

Anyway, warp to Death Mountain and look over at the giant stone. Remember it?
Walk up to it and press up on the D-Pad. Choose to warp to Zora's Domain with
it. When you arrive, it'll be dropped into the ice, smashing through it and
melting Zora's Domain. The steaming hot water will pour through the entire
river, melting everything that was frozen. Since the water source has been
repaired, the lake will have returned to its original size.

Awesome. Now try to walk out of the cave. You will be stopped by a ghost. This
ghost used to be the queen of the Zoras. Apparently, the sick Zora in Telma's
Bar is her son, and it's up to us to save him from his illness.

Anyway, walk out of the cave and let the river carry you down to Lake Hylia.
When you regain come to, enter the small cave. Inside, you will receive the
Vessel of Light. Getting the Tears of light will be a bit tougher this time
around. Start out by leaving the cave.

1) As soon as you exit, you'll see a Twilit Parasite scramble off to the right.
   Ignore it for now; we'll get it later. Instead, walk down to the left and
   jump into the water at the end. Swim to the little island right in front of
   you and listen to the Zora spirit. He'll point to the first Twilit Messenger.
   Follow the strip of land just slightly below the water. If you push left or
   right on the D-Pad to use your wolf senses, it will be easier for you to see
   the strip of land. At the end, kill your first bug and collect the first Tear
   of light.

Now do a little backtracking. Get yourself back to the cave where we talked to
the light spirit and got the Vessel of Light.

2) Climb up the wooden walkway east of the cave (where we saw the insect) and
   kill the Twilit Messenger.

3) Now walk along the next bridge. At the end, you'll have to fight another trio
   of Twilit Messengers. Kill them off and open the portal, then look at the
   last bridge we crossed. To the left of it is a stone bridge. Run up it and
   follow it to the left. Jump across the gap and onto the patch of land, then
   jump over to the next one. Then, turn to the right and jump across the last
   gap and follow the path to an open area. Look along the ground here; you
   should find an insect burrowing under the ground. Dig it out and kill it.

4) Now go back to the area where we fought the Twilit Messengers and follow the
   third bridge over to the floating house in the center of the lake. Head
   around to the back of the house and kill the Twilit Parasite here to get the
   fourth Tear of Light.

5, 6, 7, 8) Now walk back across the last bridge and stop at the little island
            halfway across. Stand next to the Howling grass and push the A
            Button to howl. Howl the song shown and let the bird pick you up.
            This will be similar to last time, but you will have less room to
            maneuver because the water is now flowing. Remember to use your wolf
            senses the whole time. Just use the Z button to lock onto the Twilit
            Parasites and dash into them with the A button. If you miss one, it
            will reposition itself farther ahead to give yourself a second
            chance. Personally, If I were a bug, I'd stay where I was and be
            grateful that you didn't kill me. >_>

+=================================+
Upper Zora's River (Twilight)
+=================================+

9) At the end, turn to the left and talk to the spirit with the hair. A bug will
   appear. Kill it! You should have killed nine bugs so far.

10) Walk across the bridge behind the woman with the afro and turn right. There
    is a howling stone at the top of the hill to the right.

Song: ------------@--------------------
      |   |   |   |   |   |   |   |   |
      --------@-------@----------------
      |   |   |   |   |   |   |   |   |
      ----@-----@---------@------------

    Howl the song, then drop down to the left of the stone and run towards the
    two spirits. Listen to them with your senses, then follow them through the
    tunnel.

+===========================+
Hyrule Field (Twilight)
+===========================+

    When you come out on the other side, climb up the stairs on the left side of
    the river and head east to the back of the field. Soon, you will cross
    Ilia's scent. Follow it back to Castle Town. Before you get there, you will
    come across another trio of Twilit Messengers. Kill them, then enter Castle
    Town.

+==========================+
Castle Town (Twilight)
+==========================+

    Head to Telma's bar. To get there, just head south when you get to the
    center plaza with the big fountain, then turn down the second road on the
    left (your left, not Link's left). When you get there, don't go in. Instead,
    use your senses to look for a bug outside of the Bar. It's behind some boxes
    in the corner. Perform a Jump Attack on them to break them open, then kill
    the bug.

11) Warp to Zora's Domain.

+============================+
Zora's Domain (Twilight)
+============================+

    Climb out of the water and look around behind the fence on the west side of
    the room. The insect will be on the wall, near the roof, by the southern
    edge of the decorative fence. Leap against the wall to nock it down, then
    Kill it.

12, 13) Leave the indoor part of Zora's Domain and ride down the waterfall. Once
        at the bottom, climb up onto one of the green platforms floating in the
        water. Z-Target one of the Twilit Parasites, then do a Jump Attack
        towards it. When you kill them, they will sink to the bottom of the
        river. Just wait for the Tears of Light to float back to the surface.
        After you kill both of them, we will only have three more bugs to
        collect.

14) Start by climbing up onto the Eastern edge of this lake-like part of Zora's
    Domain. Look for a white patch of ice on the wall. A Zora will be staring at
    it. To the north of that, Midna will try to talk to you. After you talk, she
    will help you jump up to a higher area. Walk forward a little bit and she'll
    help you jump across again. Walk forward a bit more, and then when the path
    starts to curve to the left, climb up a tiny ramp in front of the vines.
    Use Midna to help you across again. Walk forward and use her yet again. Now
    climb onto the tiny ramp to your right. Use her to get across twice more,
    then carefully walk along the ledge.

    Soon, you'll need to use her help again. Walk down the steep path,
    collecting the Rupees as you go. At the end, carefully jump down onto the
    last Rupee, then follow the pathway to the right. (You should not be going
    up stairs; you went the wrong way if you are.)

    Farther down, you'll find the next Twilit Parasite! Kill it!

15) Jump down into the water. Cross the lake and swim along the western wall
    until you find a small area that you can climb up onto, just north of the
    insect. Follow the path to the insect. This is the 15'th Twilit Parasite
    we've killed. Only one more in the entire game!

16) Midna will try to talk to you. No, Midna isn't going crazy. That last insect
    really wasn't there two minutes ago. Anyway, it's there now, so warp to Lake
    Hylia.

    *** Quick Note ***

  If you cannot warp to lake Hylia because you never activated the portal, then
  don't worry! There is a way down. You will have to go to Upper Zora's Domain.
  From there, howl next to the patch of Hawk Grass by the entrance to
