Welcome to my Twilight Princess guide! For those of you who have likely seen my
OoT FAQ, you'd know that it was pretty darned detailed. Well, as if it was
possible, I made this guide even MORE detailed. Expect a lot of preliminary
info at the start of each dungeon, the right times to grab treasure chests of
Rupees, and much more. Finally, this is written specifically for the Wii
version, which is the mirrored version, so if you're reading this FAQ and have
the GameCube version, just reverse my west/east and left/right directions.

And yes, of course, I added a spoiler-free version of my walkthrough here,
which will be a tradition of mine for each Zelda FAQ I make.

\----------------------------------------------------------------/

Control Stick: This is the general mobility for Link. He can move on the ground
and swim in water using it. How fast Link will go will depend on how hard you
are pressing on the stick. If you press it lightly, he'll only walk. But if you
press it all the way, he'll run. Goes the same for his swimming speed when in
water. Link can jump gaps automatically, so there's no jump button. Just make
sure he's running off a cliff and he should jump and land on the other side,
provided there is one.

C Button: First-person perspective is something to be used when you can't find
something and to find your bearings. You can look around with the Control
Stick or by moving Navi (Navi is your Wii Remote cursor) near the edges of the
screen.

Z Button: Z-Target is essential to battle. Hold Z when near something to lock
on (provided with an arrow) and Link will lock his sights on that particular
thing, strafing around and all. If Link has a shield, he'll guard automatically
with it when locked on.

Talking to Midna: Midna is your companion for this game, and she also has much
importance to the game's storyline. Probably very often, you will want to talk
to Midna. She can talk to you and give you hints, warp to various places, and
even transform into your wolf form (ability is later in the game).

Assigning items: Assigning items is very important. You see, important items
that you get are stored in your circular items menu, accessed using -. You
basically aim Navi at the item you want, and press either of the three Control
Pad directions to assign an item. You can also assign an item to the B Button,
which is the button for items to use instantly. Once items are assigned, you
can press that corresponding direction to move them to B. Only one item can be
assigned to B.

Collection Screen: The Collection Screen keeps track of many items not stored
on the Items menu. Such things as keeping track of the swords you have, tunics,
story items, and shields. You also get to keep track of Golden Bugs you've
acquired, Poe Souls, mail, and your current wallet and Quiver, among other
things. Simply put, this is the place to keep track of stuff.

Map: The map is essential to use. It can show the overworld (which is quite
large) and even zoom down to Provinces and towns. When in dungeons, it shows
the current map of the dungeon.

Attacking: Slashing your sword is your primary form of attacking. To slash,
swing the Wii Remote. Keep swinging and Link will do combo slashes. You can
also Jump Slash by pressing A while locked on. Sidestep and backflip by moving
left and right or backwards and pressing A.

Wolf Link: Wolf Link is a new gameplay feature, in which you have the ability
to play as Link in his Wolf form. This form is generally faster, and attacks
with his teeth, not his sword. Wolf Link has sense mode, which can be switched
on or off using left or right on the Control Pad. Sense Mode basically lets you
see things not in the normal perspective, such as spirits, scents, etc. You can
also do an Energy Field attack. Hold down B and an energy field will surround
you. (because of Midna) Move it over a nearby enemy and release B, and you'll
dash towards that enemy and kill it with one strike. You can do this against
multiple foes. Wolf Link can also dig using down on the Control Pad.

Riding Your Horse: Riding your horse Epona is much the same as controlling
Link. Hop on by standing beside her and pressing A (or running at Epona's back
then pressing A to hop on quickly) then move around using the Control Stick.
Press A while moving to make Epona dash for a few seconds. During this boost of
speed, you can have her jump over fences and small obstacles. Don't use it too
much though, there's a number of Dash Icons that show Epona's stamina. If they
are all gone, Epona cannot dash for a while until they are restored. You can
also swing your sword while riding on Epona.

A Button: The A Button is your "do-it-all" button, so to speak. With it you can
roll while running, pick up stuff, put away your sword, among many other stuff.
It's a handy little button and I suggest getting familiar with it.

Fishing: Once you get the Fishing Pole in the game, you can fish anywhere where
there's water. It's a simple fishing pole with no reel, so all you have to do
is bring it out, then hold the Wii Remote up. Move the Wii Remote back over
your shoulder, then cast forward like you would a real fishing line. Once the
bobber is in the water, all you have to do is wait for a fish to take some
bait. When one does (the bobber sinks) quickly yank the Wii Remote up to hook
the fish. Now just keep the Wii Remote up and keep jerking back to get the
fish. Fishing with a reel at the Fishing Hole is slightly different, but I'll
cover that in the Fishing Hole Guide section.

Walkthrough

To start the game, press A + B on the title screen when prompted, and you'll be
taken to the file select. Simply select a file, create a name for you and your
horse, and you're set! Oh, and there's also a Ratio Check and Brightness Check
screen that you can adjust using your TV settings to make sure you have the
right settings to play. Other options can be accessed within the Inventory
screen (press +).

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And the Story Begins...

The story starts out with Link and Rusl sitting beside a lake talking to each
other. He basically talks about a legend of the Twilight Realm, where it feels
as if that realm intersects with the real realm past dusk. After a bit more
chat, Link and Rusl head off back to the village with Epona. Link goes inside
his house to rest.

A few minutes later, someone is seen taking Epona somewhere. Afterwards, Fado,
the ranch owner, comes and calls Link to take care of the goat-herding for the
day, but he doesn't see Epona. After Link comes down, you're in control. Talk
to Fado and he'll say to hurry up and bring Epona. Well, take the north path
and follow it until you reach a watery grotto on your right (indicated on the
minimap). Another cutscene will ensue, showing that the person who took Epona
was Ilia. She took him to wash Epona up. How nice of her. Anyway, talk to Ilia
and thank her if you wish, and take Epona back to your house by getting on her
side and pressing A to climb on. To climb off, have Epona stop completely and
press A again. Once back at your house, head left and you'll go south to Ordon
Village.

You can head straight to the ranch, but talking to the villagers will reveal to
you of a pesky monkey that keeps invading the village! The monkey usually comes
at night, so most of the stores are closed right now. (It's dusk.) Anyway, just
follow the path, take a left when you see a fork. If you talk to Rusl, who's
practicing fencing, he'll tell you that Colin is making a fishing rod so you
and him can go fishing together. Continue on down to the ranch.

Time for some goat herding! It's fairly simple, really. You ride your horse and
get behind goats, herding them into the barn. For the most part, when the goats
are chased, they automatically head for the barn. You can press A to cry out
and scare the goats, making them get into the barn faster. When you're ready,
just ride up to Fado and agree to wrangle in the goats for him. Afterwards, if
you want to practice riding Epona now, Fado will have set up some fences to
jump. If you think you're confident, jump the exit fence and head back to the
village. You'll be prompted to save. Go ahead and do so.

It's the next day now, and Malo, Talo, and Beth come to wake you up at your
house. You start again inside your house, so you're free to explore your house.
You can go down to the basement, but it's really dark. Let's come back to the
basement when we have something to light our path. Come down to the kids and
they'll tell you that a Slingshot is for sale. Hm, is that so? Well let's
gather up the Rupees that we need for one. Go around the area and grab some
Rupees, then head to the village. (South from here) If you head inside Sera's
Sundries (the shop) on your right, you'll see that Sera's cat is missing, and
she doesn't feel like selling things right now. Hm, let's go find her cat.

A little south of the Sundries is a pumpkin patch. Approach it and Jaggle will
hollar at you and tell you to Z-Target him to talk to him. Do so, then climb
up to where he's at. Up here you should see a cat by the creek. That must be
Sera's cat! Jaggle also points out a piece of weird grass he found, and says to
whistle with it. Jump across to the rock where the grass is growing and press
A to grab some. Press A to blow and a hawk will come and perch on Link's arm.
Now, you can aim the Wii Remote pointer at any place and press A, and the hawk
will attack that point. What we're going to do is attack the bee hive above the
house east of Sera's Sundries. It's high up, and should be easy to spot. Attack
the hive and it will fall down, breaking apart. From now on you can go over
there and pick up some Bee Larvae, which can be used to restore 1 heart or be
used for bait with your Fishing Rod, which you don't have yet. You also need an
Empty Bottle to store the Larvae, so we can't get any for now. Don't worry,
they'll be there throughout the game.

Alright so, let's go and get that cat. To get there, walk across the nearby
bridge, and walk around Jaggle and Pergie's house. There you'll find the cat
by the dock. However, the cat runs away whenever you get near her, so ignore
the cat for now. She wants fish, but we have no way of catching one as of yet.
So head back around and cross the bridge. You should see Uli near the creek
nearby. Go over and talk to her and she'll say that she lost a wooden cradle
that she made when Colin was born. Looks like it's time to find it! Head back
up to where you summoned the hawk, and hop on the roof of Sundries. Hop to the
final rock, where you can find more Hawk Grass. Summon the hawk. This time
we're looking for a pesky monkey that has this cradle. It's far on the
northwest corner of the map, where the creek ends into a small lake. The monkey
is dancing around on the rock in the middle, so send the hawk to attack that
monkey and bring back the wooden cradle. Take the cradle back to Uli, and she
will thank you and ask her to follow her back to her house. Once you do, she'll
give you the Fishing Rod that Colin made for you! Awesome.

Now we can catch a fish! Go back to where the cat is, and go on the dock. Equip
the Fishing Rod, and take it out. Have the Wii Remote straight up, and cast the
line. Now to wait. When you see the bobber dip, immediately jerk the Wii Remote
upwards to hook the fish. If you hooked a fish, then just "reel" it in by
holding the Wii Remote up and jerking it back or left and right, depending on
how the fish is fighting. Once you have a fish, the cat will take the fish and
run back to Sera's Sundries. ...Well there we go. Catch some more fish if you
want to set records for your Fishing Journal, but otherwise head back to Sera's
Sundries. Sera will be so happy that her fish is back, and will give you a
bottle of milk! It's only half full though, so it's only good for one drink.
The milk can restore three hearts, but the best part about it is that you can
keep the bottle after the milk is gone, allowing you to store something else
in it. Quite the versatile item indeed. The Slingshot the kids mentioned
earlier is for sale here, but it's likely you don't have the money for it. (30
Rupees) If you do have the money, then great! Go ahead and buy it and ignore
the next paragraph. If you don't have the money, then read the next paragraph
for some quick ways to find Rupees.

Alright, as you may have noticed, the pumpkins in the pumpkin patches can be
picked up. Most of them have Rupees hidden underneath. Make sure to find hidden
Rupees in the shallow creek as well. There's some rocks that contain Rupees
near Jaggle and Pergie's house as well. Now let's get some of the more valuable
Rupees hidden here in the village. Use the ladder near Jaggle and Pergie's
house to get to the ledge, then turn right at the tree to climb up some crates.
From here, climb up to the very rooftop of this house using the ladder. Up here
waits a Yellow Rupee! (worth 10) If you look to your right and down, you'll see
a ledge with a Yellow Rupee waiting. You can't jump down there though, so you
need the Cucco from below. How to get it, since you can't carry Cuccos up
ladders then? Simple. Grab the Hawk Grass that's up here, then use the hawk to
grab the Cucco and bring it to you! Now just jump off toward the ledge and
amazingly, the Cucco will be able to fly you to the ledge. Grab the Yellow
Rupee and the Rupees from underneath the rocks. You should have enough now, so
go buy that Slingshot!

Now that you have the Slingshot, head back to where the kids are. (Don't worry
about getting ammo, the Slingshot came with a free bag of ammo for it.) Rusl
will tell you he's left something inside your home, but the children are too
interested in that Slingshot you just purchased. They want to see how powerful
it is, so aim it at the scarecrow nearby and fire a pellet. The children will
then want you to test your aiming skills by shooting all the targets.
Afterwards, the children will tell you to check inside your house for Rusl's
present. So let's do so. Before that though, make sure to get rid of the
Walltula on the ladder first. Use your Slingshot, since that's your only
weapon right now. Head inside your home. Woah, what's this? A huge chest! It
must've taken a lot of strength to haul this thing over here...open the chest
to get the Wooden Sword! Now you have a better weapon! Head back outside.

Once again the children are amazed at the sword you got, and want you to teach
them how to use it. Ironically you're learning how to use it too. Z-Target the
scarecrow, and swing the Wii Remote to do a vertical slice. Beth wants to see
a stab, so to perform one, make sure you're Z-targeted, then swing the Wii
Remote as you move forward. Next, Beth wants to see a spin attack. To do one,
just shake the Nunchuk a little bit. After a short while, the sword will gleam,
letting you know that you can do another spin attack. Do another spin for good
measure, then perform the last move, called the jump slash. Z-Target, and
simply press A, and Link will jump forward and deal a mighty blow with that
sword. Your sword training has officially ended.

Soon after, the kids will spot another of those pesky monkeys, and will chase
after it. Oh boy. Get on your horse and follow them before they get into
trouble. You'll soon come across Beth, who said they still followed the monkey,
and she can't keep up with them. Keep going, it seems they went WAY past the
village borders. Up ahead, you'll find Malo. Seems he stayed behind as well,
but Talo is still out there. Damn. Cross the bridge and enter the dangerous
Faron Woods. Continue through the path, ignore the spring, and mount off of
Epona when you get to a junction. Head through the north path to come to Coro's
house. He's a gatekeeper, who also seems to have lighting supplies. Talk to him
and he'll warn you of entering caves, as they can get pretty dark. So he kindly
gives you a Lantern already filled with Lantern Oil for free! Nice. He tells
you to test out the Lantern by lighting a fire underneath the pot next to him.
Press B to swing the Lantern and Link will light a fire. He tells you that he
can fill your Lantern with some more oil for only 20 Rupees whenever you're
low. You can also buy a Bottle full of Lantern Oil for 100 Rupees. While you
need the bottle, you probably do not have enough money to buy it, so we'll keep
this in mind. Head back to your horse.

Here comes your first real enemy: A Deku Baba. It's guarding the entrance to
the cave. Simply wait until it lunges, then go in and kill it with a few slices
of the sword. Head inside the cave, and make sure you have the Lantern assigned
to B! wait, there's Talo's play sword...Oh no...Hurry! Inside the cave, light
the torch with your Lantern. (Again, take it out, and press B to swing the
Lantern to light things.) The torch will stay lit forever now, so head forward.
Up ahead is a Keese. These are bat-like enemies that try to swoop down on you.
These are easy to dispatch. Once it is taken care of, head on forward,
slashing a Deku Baba in the way, until you get to a giant spider web. No
problem, just use the Lantern to burn it away. Continue on and you'll encounter
Rats at a junction. These pesky critters like to steal Rupees, so try not to
let them hit you.

Light the torch nearby and put your Lantern away to conserve fuel. (You should
have also lit the torch on the way over here.) You can see some pots suspended
by web. Pick them off with the Slingshot and grab the Rupees they leave behind,
then take the path to the east. Make sure to bring out your Lantern again! This
side tunnel ends abruptly soon after you fight two Keese and a Deku Baba. Light
the torch then put away the Lantern, and you'll see that there's a small chest
here. Open it for a Yellow Rupee. Nice! Head back to the junction and go north
this time. Burn the cobweb and you should see light at the far end of the
tunnel. There's no more enemies, so put away your Lantern and head outside!

Welcome to the main part of Faron Woods. Assign the Slingshot to B, as you're
probably going to need it. Head forward, towards the southeastern side of the
Forest, and you'll find some Bokoblins guarding a locked gate. Bokoblins will
be common enemies that you'll face, they're purple and have a huge sword. After
downing them, head towards the northern end of the forest, where you can find
a tunnel entrance. Take care of the Keese hanging on the entrance to the tunnel
before going in. Inside this cave, take care of the Bokoblin and Keese, and
open the treasure chest for a Small Key. This is just what you need! But,
before leaving, light the two torches here. This will make another treasure
chest appear! Go to it and open for a Piece of Heart! (Pieces of Heart: 1 of
45) Pieces of Heart are simply shattered Heart Containers. Heart Containers are
what make up your life meter. Collect five Pieces of Heart to form a Heart
Container, allowing your life meter to increase by one heart! You can also find
full Heart Containers by defeating the main boss of a dungeon. Exit the cave,
and head back to the locked gate. Use the Small Key to open it (press A when
facing the gate), take out the Bokoblin, and head on through.

Deeper into the woods, you'll see two Bokoblins in a large glade. Take them out
and enjoy the scenery...or just continue on. Take down the next Bokoblin, and
a weird bird named Trill will call you over to his shop. Do so and you'll see
he has Red Potion and Lantern Oil for sale. This shop works a bit differently.
Getting the items and paying for them are actually seperately done. If you take
an item without paying, Trill will call you a thief and prevent you from
entering his shop again. If you do, he'll come over and violently peck your
head, taking away a quarter of a heart of your life every second. If you want
him to stop pecking, you'll have to pay up. Of course, you can avoid this
altogether if you just keep honest. Now, since you probably still have that
half-full Bottle of Milk, and you likely don't need any Lantern Oil right now,
you can ignore this store for now. We don't need its contents right now anyway.
Head north and you should see a large tree over a seemingly endless pit. Cross
the bridge, take care of Keese, and eliminate the Bokoblins at the end, where
Talo and the monkey are captured! Simply perform a Spin Attack to break apart
the weak cage and free Talo and the monkey!

Link and Talo are seen walking out of the first cave you've been to, on the
south side. Talo hangs his head low and thanks you for saving him and the
monkey. He then leaves for the village. Rusl then calls you and tells you that
he heard Talo went into the woods and tried to come as soon as possible, but
sees that you've already brought him safely home. He apologizes for having you
do that, and tells you that the woods seems very strange as of late, like
something is waiting out there...He then suddenly changes the subject and tells
you that tomorrow is your big day to go to Hyrule. "If you are lucky, you may
even get to meet Princess Zelda! Ah ha ha!" Heh, what a joker. Like THAT'll
ever happen, right? :P

Next morning, Link is seen relaxing at Ordon Ranch. Fado calls him and asks him
to finish up goat herding early for the day before you go to Hyrule. Sure! Take
a Horse Reed and use it to call Epona. This is the exact same thing as the
first time you did goat herding. Afterwards, exit the ranch. A cutscene will
ensue, showing Ilia getting mad at Link for finding a small wound on Epona's
leg. Ouch... She then scolds her dad for sticking up to you, then takes off to
Ordon Spring with Epona. Well shoot, now we can't go to Hyrule to deliver that
gift. We gotta convince Ilia to let Link have the horse back. But first, if
you wish, talk to all the people in the village, telling them that you're ready
to go on to Hyrule.

Next, head to your house. Remember that dark basement? Go down there with your
new Lantern and you'll find a treasure chest! Open it for a Purple Rupee, which
is worth 50 Rupees! Awesome. Now, head to Ordon Spring with Colin. Talo won't
let us pass however, though if you give Talo your wooden sword, he'll let you
through. (Don't worry, you'll get another sword later.) Head over to the Spring
to find out that Ilia locked the gate to there. Colin says he'll try to explain
to Ilia what happened, while you go crawl through the tunnel nearby. Alright.
Go back south, to the glade, and look left. You should see the tunnel, so crawl
on through. By the time you get there, Ilia's attitude will have changed, and
will let you have Epona back. But suddenly, Bulbins on Bullbos come crashing
through and knock both Link and Ilia out cold.

Trapped in Twilight

Link wakes up and finds that the Bulbins took Ilia, and runs across the bridge
to Faron Woods, where he finds a strange wall of...blackness. No sooner than he
looks at it that a large black arm grabs him and pulls him inside. Link finds
himself in the grip of a rather large Twilit Messenger, and the Triforce on his
hand scares the Messenger and drops Link. Link is in pain, he feels like he's
drastically changing in this strange world...he then changes into a wolf and
collapses! He is taken away as a strange figure watches over the scene.

Link, still in his wolf form, wakes up and finds himself chained in a cage. At
this point you can control him, but since you're chained to the floor, you
can't move very far. After a bit of walking, a cutscene ensues, showing that
strange figure as an impish creature named Midna. She walks to you and Link
growls. She says she was going to help you out if you were nice...and Link
changes his attitude. She doesn't change hers though, she seems pretty rude.
She tells you that she can help you if you can exit this cell, and gives you a
boost by snapping the chain with her shadow powers. Alright. This is actually
quite simple. See those crates in the corner? Spin attack (yes, you can still
do a spin attack, except you attack with your tail on that) the crates to
destroy them and reveal a patch of dirt that you can dig through. (Press Down
on the D-Pad.) Midna then mounts you.

Well, it's time to find our way around this dump. Head south and into the next
cell. Midna will giggle and an icon will appear. Press up on the D-Pad and
she'll point out a hanging chain on the roof. Z-Target the chain and press A
and you'll jump to it and bite it, pulling it down with your weight, opening a
nearby gate. Phew. Head through.

Travel through this rather crowded tunnel and you'll come across a weird light.
Midna tells you that you'll find something rather interesting if you use your
sense view by press left or right on the D-Pad. Do so and you'll see the spirit
of a...Hyrule Castle soldier? Are we in...? In any case, head through the
sewers here up to the junction. Along the way you'll find a Twilit Vermin.
Bite it until it's dead by swinging the Wii Remote, then get to the junction.
Turn right, and Z-Target the next chain when the imp giggles (her giggling is
always a sign that something important is nearby, so remember that) and lunge
to it to open a gate. Head inside and bite open the crate for a Blue Rupee.
Go back to the junction and head west past the bars to another junction.

Pull the next chain to unlock bars, and dispatch the Vermin and break the crate
for a Heart. Drop down and you should see a rather large pit of spikes blocking
the way forward. Head as far west as you can, and pull the chain here as well.
(You may have noticed skulls around. Well, Wolf Link can still pick up stuff
like this! Underneath them are Rupees and Hearts, something you may need when
fighting those Twilit Vermin.) This chain will open another gate, but it leads
nowhere and releases a Vermin. So follow the stone path up here and pull the
next chain you see to raise the water level. Now you can dog paddle over that
pit of spikes you saw!

Dispatch the two Vermin, and continue north to yet ANOTHER junction. Heading
west will have Midna phase through a wall of cage bars and tell you to follow
her. She'll wait for you though. Head east now, and pull the chain at the very
end. Not the other chain, it just releases some more Vermin. The chain you
pulled will drain the water again. Head to where Midna is now, and search
around to find a tunnel. Crawl through it to find a small room. Turn on your
sense view to find a spirit of a soldier, and some glittering soil...the
glittering soil is actually a dig spot. Dig there and you usually will find
something below. In any case, follow this room to Midna and she'll hop back on
you.

Alright, up ahead is a rather large spiral staircase. Start climbing. Soon you
will come to a gap. Jump across and land, but the block you landed on collapses
on you. Midna will wonder what you're doing. Head back up, and when you get to
that gap again, Midna's icon will appear. Press up on the D-Pad and, after one
rather rude comment, she tells you to Z-Target her and she'll guide you to sure
footing. Do so, and jump where she is by pressing A and you'll be on the other
side. Keep going, you'll have to do those jumps again soon. Head up again until
you see a rope at a dead end. Walk across the rope, being careful not to fall
off, and keep climbing. It's getting a bit scary being up so high now... Jump
across gaps with Midna again and you'll soon get to the top, where Twilit
Keese harass you. Dispatch them, then climb up the rubble to the right of the
door you see. Hop up with Midna and you'll get to an opening high above.

Outside, Midna will mention that the black cloud of Twilight is really nice
today. Yeah, well I don't think so. It seems like we're on the battlements of
a castle. Could this be Hyrule Castle? At any case, hop down and go forward.
Keep going forward and you'll meet another spirit with the sense view on. He'll
mention that this is indeed Hyrule Castle. What's strange about these spirits
is that they can see these monsters, but can't see you. What happened to Hyrule
anyway?

You need to go left, but there's a ledge in the way, too high for you to jump
over. However there's a large crate nearby. Stand behind it, and hold A without
walking against it. Push forward and Link will push the crate against the
ledge. Hop on the crate by pressing A while walking against it, then hop over
the ledge. You'll come across a Twilit Kargarok. These rather large birds are
very strong and require at least two jumping strikes to finish off, so do so.
(Z-Target then A) Continue north along the battlements, strike down a Kargarok
with caution, then get on the wooden overhang. Hop across with Midna, and
she'll tell you we're almost to the person we want to meet! Just walk along the
top of the roof and you should see an open window. Head through it.

Drop down from the window and head left. Going right just leads to a door you
can't open. Inside the room (push the ajar door open) you should see Princess
Zelda in a cloak. She'll tell you about what happened (she seems to know Midna)
that Zant, the evil Twilight king, has consumed Hyrule in perpetual twilight,
turning the people here into spirits. Ah, now we know what's going on. Anyway,
after seeing her, exit. Go down the stairs, and after a cutscene, you'll be
back on the battlements. Midna will tell you that you can go back to where you
first entered the twilight, but insists that you've forgotten something...

She turns into the frightened forms of Colin and Ilia, to remind you of them.
She warps you out of the twilight, but wait, Link's still a wolf? Well...damn.
You can't see Midna in the normal world, because well, she's a twilit being.
Head out of Ordon Spring, and Midna will come out from your shadow and tell you
that you can't save your friends at this moment, and tells you that if you want
to go back to the twilight, you'll need her to pull you back in like last time
with a random Twilit Messenger. She then says she'll need a sword and shield
that fit her. Hm, haven't we seen a shield in a house somewhere, and Rusl using
a sword? Let's go back to the village. Of course, the citizens won't take too
kindly to you now that you're a wolf, so you'll have to compensate. Take care
of the Bulbins in your path to the village. Note that you can also talk to
animals in this form.

Once in the village, we need to look for that sword and shield. Walk around
toward the waterwheel and you will overhear Jaggle and Mayor Bo talking about
where the sword and shield that you need are kept. They then spot you and flee
inside the house. Walk toward the pumpkin patch and Hanch will spot you. He'll
sic the hawk on you. Damn. Head back to the entrance and stand on the little
rock. We're going to have to scare Hanch. Hop up to the top of the Sundries
using Midna, then hop over to where Hanch is to scare him. Now simply jump to
the top of the waterwheel house with Midna, and head inside. Hop down, and then
get on the table. Midna says she found the shield, and will have you hop up
there. Yep, it's up hanging on the wall up here. But we can't grab it from
here. Instead, knock it off by ramming into the wall twice (make sure to use
the dash) and grab the shield. You can't use it yet of course. Now we need to
find the sword. Hop to the window here to exit.

You'll make a splash at the creek, and Rusl hears it. He'll then go out and
search, despite his leg injuries. Let's try not to get spotted, ok? Get up on
the ledge to the left as you get close to Rusl, and stay out of sight. If need
be, climb up to the top and just watch as Rusl comes by. When it's safe,
silently walk past him over to the house. Uli spots you though...so much for
that. Go over to the right of the house, and turn on your sense view. You
should see a dig spot right behind some logs. Dig to appear in the house.
Remember what Rusl said? The sword is on the couch. So...grab it. Alright, you
have a sword and a shield, but...you still can't use them. Midna tells you that
we're now ready to go back to the twilight, so just go back to where the woods
are. We'll do that now. Avoid Rusl and just head out of the village, toward
Ordon Spring. Before crossing the bridge to the twilight however, step into the
spring.

The spirit of Ordon, Ordona, calls you into the spring. Go in and a Shadow
Beast will appear. Simply defeat this one (it's one of the toughest Shadow
enemies) by latching on to it with a jump strike and bite the hell out of it
until it's dead. Ordona will then appear and tell you that it is one of four
light spirits, and the others have had their power drained due to the Twilight.
Ordona also tells you that you're the hero who will vanquish the twilight and
bring light back into Hyrule. Uh-huh. How exactly can a wolf do all this?
Ordona disappears before explaining (...) so we're just left to go to the
twilight. Alright...let's get there. By the way, defeating the Beast here
allowed a warp to the Ordon Province. We won't use that yet though.

Once back in the twilight, Midna will try out the sword and shield and find
them a bit cluttered, so she says she won't use them, but she'll hold on to
them for you. Ok, whatever. So walk forward and some Shadow Beasts will
appear. Midna thinks you can take them on by yourself, so she leaves you to
fend for yourself. Great...Go ahead and take down the Beasts, but as soon as
you down the second one, the last one will shriek and bring back the downed
Beasts. Well...what to do. Midna comes by and figures you can't do this either,
so she tells you to hold down B and she'll create an energy field. Cover the
Beasts with this field, all of them, then release B. Wolf Link will attack them
all in quick motions, killing them instantly. That's how to take care of groups
of Shadow Beasts. Each time you defeat a group, a warp portal is created.
Continue on and you'll reach a spring.

What's left of the Faron light spirit tells you that Insects have taken bits
of its light energy, and tells you to find them. It gives you a Vessel of Light
to put the tears the defeated insects drop. You need to find 16 of these
insects, and they're marked on your map. Let's get going. These insects are
invisible in normal view, so you'll have to use your sense view to find them.
The first two insects are near a Shadow Baba, so dispatch them. (2 Tears)
Continue forward and you'll reach that junction to Coro's place and the way to
the inner parts of Faron Woods. A Shadow Insect crawls past the gate so that
you can't get to it, so head over to Coro's hut. Get on its north side, and
ram it to knock down an insect. (3 Tears) Go on the south side now and get up
on the wooden platform. Jump into the house using Midna. Turn on sense view to
see Coro's spirit. He's frightened as hell towards the insects, and two of
them appear. Down them, and exit his house the way you came in. (poor Coro
doesn't know what's going on) (5 Tears) Head back to the junction, and dig
underneath the gate. Dispose of the insects here, then enter the cave. (7
Tears) Just head through this tunnel. If anything, the twilight actually made
it easier to navigate this dark tunnel! Take care of the Shadow Keese, Babas,
and Vermin, and emerge to the main part of Faron Woods, where a weird purple
haze has covered the area.

Look west with sense on to see two insects on the rock wall. Ram into the
wall and the insects will fly away. Unfortunately they don't touch down, and
these insects actually try to attack you. Just strike when they're low enough
and grab the tears. (9 Tears) Now, if you touch this purple haze, you will
faint and reappear back near the entrance to the tunnel. You'll also be one
heart short. How to cross then? Head to the very west and you should see a
rock jutting out. Stand on this, then use Midna to jump over to a ledge. Climb
up, and jump across these with Midna to get to the hollow tree. Here, you can
find a whopping three insects. (12 Tears) Continue on, jumping across tree
ledges, until you get to the other side of the Woods. Be quick up here as
Shadow Babas can attack you and knock you off. Once on the other side, you'll
see two more Insects. However they have buried themselves into the soil, so
you'll have to find them and dig them out. (14 Tears) Head to the next area.

Here, another group of Shadow Beasts appear! Defeat them in the same manner as
the previous group, and a warp portal will appear. Continue on to where you
found Colin and the monkey before, and the final two insects will be sitting
here. (16 Tears) You'll be transported back to Faron Spring, and the twilight
will have dissipated! Then, Faron, the light spirit, commends you for your
efforts and lets you regain your true form. It also gives you the clothes of
the legendary hero, the famous green tunic and cap! Faron then tells you that a
forbidden power is locked away in the nearby temple hidden in the woods. It
tells you that if you wish to face the king of darkness, Zant, you have no
choice but to obtain this power. Well, let's get to work.

Ancient Temple of the Woods

You can go back to the village if you want, but our job is to head straight to
the temple. We've been at the entrance to it a couple of times already.
Remember the last two parasites and where we saved Colin and that monkey? That
is the entrance to the Forest Temple. Simple eh? Oh, but before you can head
back into the tunnel leading to the inner Faron Woods, visit Coro. Talk to him,
he looks up and down at your new garb, and decides you're ready to tackle the
dangers. He gives you a key to unlock the gate. He also offers a bottle full of
Lantern Oil for only 100 Rupees! You should have enough money right now, so buy
it. You now have two bottles with you! Keep the oil in the bottle...you'll see
why soon. Now, head through that tunnel and out the other side to the inner
Faron Woods.

Take out your lantern and the monkey we rescued earlier will snatch it, and
beckon you to follow her. Do so. She's actually creating a path through the fog
for you! Take care of any enemies that you come across, and at the other side,
the monkey will drop your Lantern, to let you pick it up. Unfortunately all the
oil is spent. Use that bottle of oil you have! Simply have your lantern out,
and assign the bottle of oil to a D-Pad direction. Press that same direction
and Link will refill the lantern. You now have an empty bottle. (Or two,
depending on if you used that milk yet.) Go back into the mist with the
Lantern out, and wave it to clear the mist. Head around to the middle where the
tree is, and find a place to jump up. Once you do, you'll find a treasure chest
containing 20 Rupees! Now head back to the southeast end, and proceed to the
Forest Temple. Along the way, buy some Red Potion from Trill if you want.

After learning the first Hidden Skill, the Ending Blow, head straight to the

burn the cobweb blocking the entrance. Head inside...

----------------------------------
FOREST TEMPLE
No. of Floors: 1
No. of Treasure Chests: 13
Total Rupees Found: 90
Major Item Found: Gale Boomerang

~~ PRE-DUNGEON NOTES: Alright, first I must mention something. The reason why I
list the Rupees you can get in this dungeon, is because in this game, you won't
be allowed to keep the Rupees you find in chests if your wallet is already
full. So if you like to clear out dungeons like I do, and you can't carry 90+
more Rupees, go and spend some, then head back here. ~~

You'll immediately be assaulted by Keese in the first room. Take them out, then
use the Lantern to help you move into the more lighted chamber ahead. Put the
Lantern away now, and watch the wall on the left. You should see some vines
leading up. You can crawl these, but there are Walltulas in the way. Pick them
off with the Slingshot, then climb up the vines to a ledge holding a treasure
chest. Open it for a Yellow Rupee. Drop back down, and head to the north end of
this chamber. You should see that monkey trapped in a cage. Use a spin attack
to free her, and she'll climb up the vines behind her, beckoning you to follow
her. Pick off the Walltulas, then climb up. Open the door to the next room.

Here in the crossroads, go down the stairs. Before going up the next stairs,
take a left. You should see a Bombling here. Now, if you whack it with the
sword, it will recoil its legs and blow up after a few seconds. Use this time
to place the Bombling against the discolored patch of wall just to the right
of here. The Bombling will blow up the wall, revealing a small room with a
treasure chest. Grab the Red Rupee from it, then go up the staircase I
mentioned earlier. Defeat the rather large and scary-looking Skulltula (takes
quite a few slashes) up here. Light up all four torches to bring up the wooden
bridge to the ledge on the north. Cross the bridge, and open the chest here
for this dungeon's map! Now you can see all the rooms in this dungeon! Press 1
to bring up the dungeon's map. The rooms in green are ones that you've already
visited. Head into the room to your north.

Well, uh...crap. The bridge leading forward has been cut by Ook, a bad monkey
who's actually the boss of the monkey you've been taking with you. I guess
there's no choice but to head back...The monkey leads the way. She'll then hop
on to a wire and hang upside down. She'll carry you to the ledge on the west.
Just jump toward her and she'll grab your hands. Press A at the right time to
let go and land on the other side. Go through the door.

Take a right and you should see a Bombling. Slash it and place it next to the
grey wall here to blow it up, revealing four pots. Doesn't seem like much, does
it? Approach them anyway, and...what's this? Something's hiding in one of the
pots. Pick it up and break it, and a weird chicken-like creature will come out.
Apparently this...icky-looking thing is an Ooccoo, which can take you to the
start of this dungeon whenever you use it. You actually find Ooccoo in every
dungeon except the last one, and can only use Ooccoo in the dungeon you found
her in. Yes, it's hard to believe, but this bald-headed, human-faced,
saggy...chested chicken thing is a female. Ew. Even Link is disgusted when he
finds her. Bleh. Go south and into the main room.

Burn the cobweb, and follow the monkey through this waterlogged area. Around
the middle, you'll see a Skulltula. Hit it with the Slingshot to dislodge it
from its string of web, and it'll fall into the water, killing it. Hop across,
and go across the bridge. You'll see a Z on the ground. Remember this. Hop off
the right side and swim through the opening here to find a chest that holds a
Yellow Rupee. Get back on land using one of the vines here. Now, there's two
doors in this room, aside from the one you used to enter. Go through the door
that isn't locked.

You're now west of that broken bridge. Up ahead is a bridge with a fan. When
the wind blows on the fan, the fan makes the bridge move. Cross it when it's
connecting your side of the gorge to the other side. Pick off the Keese, then
head through the door. To your right is a treasure chest containing a Small
Key. This is just what we need! Head back to the waterlogged cavern, and use it
on the locked door.

You'll see another caged monkey, one the other monkey who was with you so
desperately wants freed. Head down to where the monkey is, and ram into the
tower three times by rolling to knock the cage off and free your second monkey.
Two angry Bokoblins will then attack, so just dispatch them. Before heading
back up, open the small chest underneath where the bridge used to be to get a
Yellow Rupee. Now follow the monkeys. The bridge here is broken, but they will
swing you across like the monkey did before! Do so, and head all the way back
to the crossroads.

Now that you have two monkeys, it's time to rescue another. Let's take the east
passage this time. Swing across to there like before. Burn the cobweb down and
head through the door. Inside, it's time to face a Baba Serpent. These are a
tiny bit larger than normal Deku Babas, but don't be fooled. Even after the
heads are cut off from their stalks, the heads will come bouncing at you in an
attempt to bite you. Avoid the Deku Like here, we'll take care of it later.
Instead, climb up. You'll see another Deku Like. Turn left and you'll see a
Bombling. Just what we need. Slash it, then quickly take it across the path
nearby to the north of it, and drop the Bombling at the gap. The Deku Like
should eat it, and blow up. We need to do this with the other Deku Like, but
the Bombling we used is too far away. Jump across the gap instead, and head
south. There's a door here, and a Bombling. We need to use this Bombling. Slash
it, pick it up, then go to the gap to the west. Drop the Bombling and the Deku
Like should blow up. Drop down there, and open the chest for a Piece of Heart!
(Pieces of Heart: 2 of 45) Head back up to that door, and go through it.

A monkey is locked in a cage, and the Small Key needed has just been eaten by a
Big Baba. It may look menacing, but it's nothing too hard. Just slash at the
Baba's head after dodging its lunges, and when the Baba is defeated, grab a
Bombling and throw it down the gullet of the...thing that held the Big Baba and
it will explode and release the key. Free the monkey, then head out of this
room. Go back to the north end of the room up here. See the rock on the raised
ledge with torches? Take a nearby Bombling, and throw it up at the rock to
blow it up. Head through the next door.

You'll find another monkey trapped on the far end of the room. Drop down to the
floor, and ram into the pillar on your left to dislodge a treasure chest. Open
it for a Small Key. Cross the bridge on the righthand side--annoying Tile Worms
hide underneath and will literally throw you off balance. There are none on the
complete righhand side of the bridge. On the other side, light the two unlit
torches to create stairs to the trapped monkey. Climb up and use the Small Key
to free your fourth monkey, but beware of the Skulltula. Climb back down, then
go to the north end of the room to find some vines. Climb them to find a
treasure chest containing a red Rupee. Go back to the crossroads.

Go through the north door now to go back to the broken bridge. Except now with
four monkeys freed, you can swing across! Do so and enter the door.

----------
MINI-BOSS: Ook

This troublesome enemy is a pain in the ass to defeat. Luckily that's just what
we need to give Ook to defeat him. He uses the Gale Boomerang to try to mess
you up, and to cut down the Baba Serpents on the ceiling, leaving the heads for
you to fight! How to damage Ook? That big, red, shiny butt is your big hint.
Ook will hop around on the pillars and occasionally stop to throw the
boomerang. When he does this, immediately ram into the pillar he's on by
rolling to knock him off balance so his boomerang will hit him, and knock him
onto the ground. At this point, he's facing his butt up in the air, ready for
an ass whupping. Slash his butt a few times and he'll recoil in pain. Repeat
the same process three times to defeat him, leaving his butt sore, and the Gale
Boomerang behind!
----------

The Twilit Parasite that possessed Ook will now shrivel up and die, turning Ook
good again. He still remembers the ass whupping, so he retreats when he sees
Link. You now have the Gale Boomerang! Assign this now. Now to exit. The door
is locked, but there's a fan above. Throw the Gale Boomerang at the fan
multiple times to raise the lock, then go through the door. Back in the gorge,
take a left. Use your newfound Gale Boomerang to make a path to a small
clearing with a Bokoblin. Kill it, then use the Gale Boomerang to free the cage
from the web suspending it to free yet another monkey. Go south now, use the
Gale Boomerang to close the gap, and go through the door. Return to the room
where you saw all those Tile Worms.

Now you can finally get rid of those Tile Worms. Target the Gale Boomerang and
watch them fly. Now you can slash them to your heart's content. Ahhh, so
satisfying. :) What we need to do now is blow out all the torches in this room.
Doing so will lower that staircase you used to free the monkey, revealing a
treasure chest. Open it for another Piece of Heart! (Pieces of Heart: 3 of 45)
Head back to the crossroads. Back in the middle, look up and you should see a
treasure chest suspended by some web. Use the Gale Boomerang to free it, and
open it for this dungeon's Compass! Open your map now. Now you can see the
location of the main boss, and the locations for all treasure chests not gotten
yet! Sweet. You can also see the monkeys that still need rescuing. Looks like
there's three more. Head west to the waterlogged cavern, and head all the way
to the part with the Z on the ground. Take out your Gale Boomerang. Target the
leftmost fan closest to you, then target the other fans in the order that the Z
on the ground shows. Doing so will unlock the cage up ahead, revealing a
treasure chest. Open it for the Big Key! Now you can access the boss's chamber
with this.

Go through the northern door and cross the gorge to the other side. You'll see
a monkey. Follow it to the room where you got your first Small Key. Use the
Gale Boomerang on the fan perched on the bridge like the ones in the gorge to
close the gap, and follow the monkey into the next room. The monkey will hop
to a platform to where the other monkeys are. We need three more. Midna will
say to hop to it, so let's rescue monkeys. First, head back. Use the Gale
Boomerang on the bridge to spin it, then use it again while still on the
bridge. Defeat the Bokoblins and take the door on the east.

Take care of the Skulltulas, then burn the leftmost cobweb on the floor. (Stand
on it then use the Lantern.) You should drop where a monkey is caged up. Spin
Attack the cage to free the monkey. Jumping down reveals a dark cave (might
need to use the Lantern to see here) with a Deku Like, a Bombling (hint) and a
Skulltula. Eliminate the Skulltula, and if you want, destroy the Deku Like for
a red Rupee, if you wish. Climb up the vines here to get back up to the higher
level, and return to the previous room. Use the Gale Boomerang to turn the
bridge while you're on it, then head through the north door.

Take a right, get on the bridge, use the Gale Boomerang, get on the next bridge
and use the Gale Boomerang on it to get to a ledge on the east. Dispatch the
Bokoblin, and pick off the Walltulas on the vines here. Climb up them to get
to the top, and go through the door. Take care of the Baba Serpents, then cross
the bridge. On the north is a Bombling on a platform, and on the south is a
Deku Like on a platform. The Deku Like is blocking the way to a treasure chest.
How do we do this then? Equip the Gale Boomerang, target the Bombling, then
target the Deku Like. The Boomerang should carry the Bombling over to the Deku
Like and blow it up. Nifty. Jump across to the treasure chest and open it for a
Small Key. Head back across the bridge. See the rock up above? Use the Gale
Boomerang and do the same procedure as you did with the Deku Like to blow it
up. Climb up the vines, and eliminate the Bokoblin and Baba Serpents, then use
the Gale Boomerang to bring you another Bombling. Set it beside the rock to
blow it up and free the monkey. Head back two rooms.

Use the Gale Boomerang so you can reach the locked door to the west. We're
getting the last monkey. Use your Small Key to open the door. In here, rid the
room of Tile Worms, and head to the the cave on the northwest corner. When you
get dropped off, eliminate the Skulltula and Walltulas, and climb up the vines.
At the top, use the Gale Boomerang on the two fans near the jail cell to free
the last monkey. Before we head back though, go east while up here, kill the
Baba Serpent, then take a left. Jump across and open the treasure chest for a
red Rupee. That should be everything. Head back to the room with all the
monkeys, and they'll assemble to make one huge swing for Link. They
automatically swing, so only jump to them when they're near. When you swing to
the other side, press A at the right time to dismount. Straight ahead is the
boss's chamber. Use the Big Key to open it, but there's a fairy in a pot nearby
if you need one.

----------
BOSS: Twilit Parasite, Diababa

This huge boss will take a little bit of thought to destroy. It starts off with
two large Diababa Serpent heads. These are easy. They occasionally lunge out
just like any normal Baba, but these are tough-skinned. You can't harm them
with the sword. So...take out your Gale Boomerang, and target a Bombling. Then
target one of the heads. The Bombling should fly to a Serpent head, blow it up,
and have the head sink down into the mire. Repeat the process to reveal
Diababas real form.

As of now there's no way to harm Diababa now, so it seems helpless. After a
while, help is on the way! Ook appears from an upper cave and has Bomblings in
hand! Use your Gale Boomerang to lock on to Ook, and the main head of Diababa.
After the targets are set, throw the boomerang just as Ook is getting ready to
swing across. This should hit Diababa on the head and cause it to collapse on
the ground in front of you. Target its eyeball-like appendage and give it all
you've got with sword strikes! Repeat once or twice more and Diababa is
history. After the first time you hurt Diababa, it will spray intoxicating
liquid at you. Avoid this as much as you can, it takes away half a heart each
hit!
----------

After it's defeated, it drops a Heart Container, and a piece of Fused Shadow.
This Fused Shadow piece is that forbidden power the light spirit Faron told you
about. Grab it and the Heart Container, and take Midna's teleport out of here.

Journey to Kakariko

You'll be prompted to save. Do so (or not) and Link will be transported to the
Faron Spring. Faron tells you that Hyrule is not yet safe from twilight, and
you must meet the light spirit of the Eldin Province next. Head north, unless
you want to take one last stop at Ordon Village, and head to where Coro's
cottage is. Up ahead further north is the entrance to Hyrule. Be prepared for
fields larger than you've been in! ...Much much larger.

The music has changed. This gallant music is the theme for Hyrule Field! It
doesn't seem like much yet, but head forward, taking care of two Bokoblins, and
you'll take in the view through a cutscene. Pretty damn huge place, right? Well
as long as you have your minimap up (toggle with 2) you shouldn't get lost. You
can also see the dark curtain of Twilight in the surrounding areas, including
Hyrule Castle way in the distance. We'll be heading there soon. Now, we could
head straight to the Eldin Province, which is due west, but let's get a few
things, shall we?

Head forward, following the dirt path, until you get to a bridge up ahead and a
rock face covered with trees on your left. Look up in the branches of the first
tree on your left near the fence. Is that a Piece of Heart? Get out the Gale
Boomerang and grab it from its limbs. Sweet, we just need one more for a Heart
Container. There are no other Heart Pieces in this area that we can get at this
moment, so it'll be a while before we can get another. (Pieces of Heart: 4 of
45)

Now to get some things called Golden Bugs. what are they for? Well you'll see
soon. From where you got the Piece of Heart, head east. You should see two
trees. On one of them, you should see some shining. Use the Gale Boomerang to
target this shining thing (it's a Golden Bug) and bring it to you. Press A to
pick it up before it flies away. You've got a Golden Male Beetle! If you look
in your Collection screen, you should see that you now have a logbook of the
Golden Bugs you've captured. Nice. Now to find the Female Beetle. Head to the
very west of the field, where you can see an unreachable ledge with trees. Look
around here to see another Golden Bug. (It's easier to see when the game is at
nighttime. The game cycles through day and night outside of towns.) Use the
same procedure to get this Golden Bug like we did the other one. We've now got
the Male and Female Beetles! There are no other Golden Bugs here in this area
of Hyrule Field.

Alright, it's time to head to the Eldin Province. Head south from where you got
the Golden Bug, and make a turnaround to head through the small valley leading
north and west. Along the way, you will get stopped by the mailman. This hard
working guy runs ALL through Hyrule delivering mail. Can't the post office
afford a carriage for him? Ah well. He'll warn you about the "black wall" ahead
and give you a letter telling about their postal service. Letters you get are
stored in the Collection screen, so if you want to read them, you'll have to go
there. Ignoring the mailman's warning, since we're obviously great, courageous
heroes, continue on through until you get into the twilight.

You're a wolf again, so you'll have to bear with being an animal again. You
also know what that means, more Tear collecting soon. Anyway, head on through
this twilight-covered valley until you get to a...wooden sword? Go to it and
press A. Wolf Link will sniff it and be reminded of Talo, Malo, and Beth. This
is it! This is the Youths' Scent! Turn on sense view and you should see the
scent trail. Follow it and you'll get to the larger part of this place, called
Kakariko Gorge. Move on a little further and some Shadow Beasts will come down!
You remember how to kill these things, right? Just hold B! Once they're
defeated, another warp will appear.

Aaand you'll find out that the bridge ahead is gone. What happened to it? The
most likely guess is that it's either been destroyed or been taken somewhere
else. Midna will tell you to bring up your map, and will tell you how to warp
between those portals we've been opening. Do you remember seeing a huge object
that looked like a bridge anywhere? If so, warp there. If not, warp to the
North Faron Woods. That's where Midna thinks she saw something that looked like
a bridge anyway. After warping, you'll find you're still in Wolf form. Yep, you
still need a light spirit to change you back, but Faron won't do that for you,
no sirree. Anywho, Midna tells you that warping will be an easy way to get
around Hyrule, so make sure to use it! She then tells you to look hard for that
bridge. ..."Look hard"? Is that an insult? It's right beside us, little miss--
uh...yeah, better not get...yeah. Anyway, approach the bridge and Midna will
giggle. That's your cue. Press up on the D-Pad, and teleport it to Kakariko
Gorge. You'll be teleported there as well.

Alright, so we've gotten the bridge back here. Cross it the rest of the way
(north) and you'll come to some Shadow Bulbins. Dispatch them. Continue
following the scent, and you'll come to a gate. Dig under it, kill the Shadow
Bulbins, then continue following the scent. You should soon find yourself in
the twilight-drenched Kakariko Village, where soon after you enter you'll be
assaulted by more Shadow Beasts. Defeat them to create a warp portal, then gain
an audience of...what's left of, anyway...the light spirit Eldin. Eldin will
give you another Vessel of Light, and prompt you to find the insects and take
the Tears from them. We need to find another 16, and luckily most of them are
in the village. You'll find that the scent you've been following leads into a
house that's currently locked. Hm, how to get in there? Find a dead tree nearby
and Midna will giggle. Ah-ha. Use her to jump up to the very top of the
building, and crash through the ceiling.

You'll see a group of people, who appear to be the residents of this village,
and...Malo, Talo, and Beth! Neat. Too bad they can't see you right now...we'll
have to free this land from twilight first. After the cutscene ends, let's find
a way into the cellar. Pick up the stick that Barnes dropped while frantically
trying to open the cellar, and light both ends of the stick with the fire
nearby. Then go up the stairs, and stay near the wall as you jump across some
small gaps and light candles. Light all four candles and the way to the cellar
will open. If you approach the people and press A now, they'll be bewildered as
to why the entrance to the cellar moved on its own...heh. Drop down to the
cellar.

Down here, you'll spot three Shadow Insects. Head forward and dispatch them,
then get out of here by hopping up the pieces of wood with Midna. (3 Tears)
You'll appear at the graveyard, where you can find another insect! You have
to dig this one up first. (4 Tears) Head back to the village, which is east
from here. Once back in the village, go to the first house on the east side.
Somewhere on this house's southern side is a tunnel you can crawl through. Do
so to enter it. Inside, crawl up and head to where you see that white dot.
Break open one of the crates and an insect will pop up. Take its Tear and exit
the house. (5 Tears)

Next, go up the ramp just south of this house, (which is actually a General
Store) and follow it to the balcony of another building. Jump across and head
inside. You're now at the Elde Inn, and there's two insects to find. Drop down
to the floor. Before going in the next room, pick up a piece of wood, and light
it on fire by jumping to that candle next to the table. Once it's on fire go to
the furnace and light it. This will chase out a insect that was hiding in
there. (6 Tears) Now head into the next room. You're now at the bar of the Inn.
Take care of the Shadow Bulbins, then go upstairs to the room up here after
taking care of another Shadow Bulbin. In this room, go between the two beds to
your right and ram the south wall to knock off a insect. This is another one
that flies, so jump strike when it's low enough. (7 Tears) Now exit the Inn the
same way you entered.

Go to the west now, and climb onto the chicken coop at the very south where the
housing begins. Start jumping across rooftops, take care of Shadow Keese, and
fall down the weak ceiling. Inside, push the nearby crate towards the wall to
release a insect. (8 Tears) Halfway there! Now use Midna to escape. Head north
to the next building, which is Barnes' Bomb Shop. The front door is locked, so
climb up the small building on your right (looks like an outhouse) and jump
through the window here to enter. Go upstairs, and ram into the wardrobe where
the white dot is to release another insect. (9 Tears) Exit out of the bomb shop
by climbing onto the wardrobe, then climbing up the rest of the way into the
door leading outside.

Climb up the rooftop and you should see an insect fleeing into a house through
a hole in the wall. Crawl through there to follow it. Inside, you'll see the
insects hiding inside the furnace. Grab a piece of wood, light it, then light
the furnace. The now on-fire insects will fly out and hit some bombs...wait
what, bombs? Oh crap. Midna leaves you because she doesn't want to become dead
meat. The insects are still flying around, but there's no time! Quickly exit
the building or it will blow up with you in it! After exiting, the building
blows up, revealing three Tears of Light! So there must've been three insects
hiding there. It's a shame we had to blow up Barnes' bomb storage to get these,
but oh well. (12 Tears) Climb up the slopes here to get to the lookout shack.

See the indentation on the side of the shack? Dig down here to get inside. See
the pots in the corner? Shatter the pots to reveal the insect. (13 Tears)
We've got three left to find, but we've gotten all the ones in the village.
There's only one place left to look...that's right, Death Mountain. Well, the
trail to it to be exact. Exit the shack, and get back down to the ground. (Fun
little fact, you can jump down from here and take no damage whatsoever. Weird
huh?) Go north and you should see a path indenting the rock face here. This is
Death Mountain Trail. Let's climb up it and find the rest of these insects.

Get on the small little ramp here, and jump up using Midna. There's a spirit up
here. Turn on your senses to find out it's a Goron guard. Big thing, isn't he?
Well, Gorons are rock creatures, and every single one of them are big like
this. He says that he'd rather the elders accept help from the humans than
"suffer for the sake of pride." Hm...sounds like something we might have to fix
soon. Head up the trail, defeating some twilit creatures, until you get to a
place that has openings that spew out steam. This steam can harm you, so avoid
them. There's an insect here too. When you approach it, it will dig into the
ground. Dig it out and dispatch it. (14 Tears)

There's a stone nearby that is creating noise. See it? This is a howling stone.
Get up to it and press A. Listen to its tune, then howl the tune. You'll then
be taken to a special realm with the Golden Wolf. Howl the tune again and the
Golden Wolf will then appear on Hyrule's map. The wolf is now in the glade near
Ordon Spring. Keep that in mind, we'll go there after we're done here. Continue
up the trail until you get to Death Mountain itself. Drop down here and engage
battle with some more Shadow Beasts. Now, this one is a bit tricky. First,
before you use that energy field attack, go to the corner where a Beast is
hiding and kill that one with normal attacks. Now dispose of the rest to create
another warp portal.

Go a bit north here to the barricade. A Shadow Insect is here. Dislodge it by
ramming into the barricade, then dispatch the insect. This is another one that
flies around. (15 Tears) One last one! See the little ledge nearby? Get on it
and use Midna to hop to the top when the geyser stops spewing steam. Careful
around here, as the mountain erupts randomly, letting fiery boulders fall down.
Try not to get hurt. Follow the path up here, and climb up the narrow ramp
carefully. Hop up with Midna, then continue. You'll come across a geyser that
is blocking the path. It won't stop spewing anytime soon, so drop down into the
hot springs. They aren't hot springs anymore though, since they're dry.
Eliminate the Shadow Vermin and kill the last insect. You've now freed Eldin
Province from the twilight! And yes, you're back to your original self.

Eldin tells you that the power you seek is in the sacred grounds of the
mountain dwellers. Gorons' Death Mountain! After the light spirit is gone, the
children will look outside and be really happy to see Link. Renado will tell
you that the Gorons' behavior has changed these days. The residents of Kakariko
and the Gorons used to be friends, but now the Gorons don't let any humans get
to their mines. He tells you to bring the kids back to the Ordon Village, but
the kids look at you as if to say "Well...aren't you gonna help Renado?" They
don't want to leave until you do something, so...let's get to work then. Head
back up Death Mountain Trail, but when you get to the top of this climbable
barricade, a Goron will just knock you off. Hm...let's go back.

Renado will tell you that you won't be able to pass. The only person who earned
the Gorons' trust is Mayor Bo of Ordon Village. Hm, we need to get to Ordon
Village. Move into the village and you'll hear a faint whinnying. It's Epona!
She's gone crazy and Bulbins are trying to ride her! She knocks them off and
Link tries to get on Epona. It's time for some horse wrangling! See the
commands on the bottom of the screen? Press and hold the directions as shown to
stay on Epona. If you get knocked off, just get back on her and try again.
After staying on long enough, Epona will stop, so press A to seize her and
Epona will settle down. Midna will proudly call you a great horse wrangler! Now
that we have Epona with us, getting around Hyrule will be a breeze! (Except for
the warps of course) Head south out of the village. Build up speed, and have
Epona leap over the gate here. Mr. Mailman will stop you again for another
letter. This one's from Ooccoo, that weird bird-thing you found in the Forest
Temple. Seems she's adventuring too. Head all the way to Ordon Village.

Head over near the ranch and Mayor Bo will be surprised to see you, and tell
you to come inside. Link will tell the mayor that the children are under
Renado's care in Kakariko, and he rests easy. As far as Ilia, his daughter
though...no sign of her yet. In order to get past the Gorons, you need to learn
an old-fashioned form of fighting: wrestling! To wrestle, press A and you'll
grab your foe. Keep pressing A to keep pushing. Eventually the foe will break
free. Other techniques you need to learn is if your foe is getting ready to
strike, quickly press left or right on the Control Stick to dodge. To strike,
simply shake the Wii Remote. You can also duck a strike by pressing A at the
right time. The best thing to do is to immediately grab the foe after dodging a
strike. After you down Mayor Bo twice (he's harder on the second try) he will
tell you that you need additional weight in order to match the Gorons, and
gives you the Iron Boots! (in a treasure chest) To use these, assign it to a
direction on the D-Pad, and press that direction to equip them. With these on,
you're much heavier. You can sink to the very bottom of lakes, and even walk on
walls with its magnetic properties! The only downside is that you are much
slower with these on. Now exit the mayor's house.

Alright, before we head back to Kakariko Village, visit ALL the homes and tell
the residents that the children are fine so that they won't worry. Next go into
the ranch. Tell Fado about the kids, then talk to him again. Let's wrangle up
some goats! After you've wrangled them up, Fado will give you a Piece of Heart!
Just what we needed! (Pieces of Heart: 5 of 45) Now, before we exit the
village, make sure you have talked to everyone. Have you also included Hanch
that's up on that ledge where Jaggle used to be in the beginning of the game?
Alright then, exit the village, and go on back to Hyrule Field. Feel free to
purchase something from Sera or Coro before you go, though, but make sure you
have at least 200 Rupees with you.

Head to Kakariko Gorge now. Once you get there, go a bit east. Stay near the
gorge, and look at one of the spires sticking up out of it. You should see a
Piece of Heart on top of one! Use the Gale Boomerang to pick this one up.
(Pieces of Heart: 6 of 45) Now head to Kakariko Village. Bulbin Riders and King
Bulbin will come riding on their Bullbos to raid Kakariko Village. Talo runs
away, but Beth just stays put. Colin builds up some courage and pushes Beth out
of the way so he'll be taken instead. Link then rides in on Epona, so it's time
to chase King Bulbin! Ride out of Kakariko Village heading north, and jump over
the gate.

----------
BOSS: King Bulbin and Bulbin Riders

This will be a unique battle. You must chase King Bulbin while on your horse
and slash his armor off. It's not that easy though. Bulbin Riders will harrass
you by riding up next to you and trying to knock you off, or fire flaming
arrows in your direction. If you get caught up with these guys, you'll just
have to slash them off their Bullbos before you catch up the King Bulbin. After
you slash off all of King Bulbin's armor, he'll go over to the Bridge of Eldin.
Link follows, and the next part of the battle begins.

We're now on a jousting match. It's a battle of who can knock who off the
bridge. Just ride forward (I'd prefer you not to press A, it just makes things
harder for you) and King Bulbin will approach you. He'll try to get in your
path, so when you near, make a turn to get beside him and slash him. Repeat
once more and King Bulbin will be knocked off his Bullbo, freeing Colin!
----------

Back in Kakariko Village, a cutscene will ensue. Colin's out of it, and needs
some serious rest. Watch the cutscene, then let's get some stuff. First, go to
the Graveyard. There's a Golden Bug to get here. Check by the northwestern tree
and you should see it. This is the Male Ant! You may encounter tons of Guays
here. These are simply enemy birds that usually travel in large flocks. If you
defeat all of them, a group of Rupees falls on the ground. Head back to the
village now.

Talk to Talo here and he'll talk about Malo not getting out of that abandoned
shop. Hmm...head inside the General Store, which is now Malo Mart. He's
actually selling some things! He's currently selling Red Potions, Wooden
Shields (which are the same as an Ordon Shield, but designed differently) and
a Hylian Shield. The Hylian Shield is made of metal and won't catch fire. This
is what we need, as the next dungeon is very hot, and your Ordon Shield won't
last long there. Purchase the Hylian Shield for 200 Rupees. Alright, now let's
get a few things before we continue. Go north, and head inside the first
building on the west that you can see. Inside, is a Female Ant! Another one to
your Golden Bug collection! Now, exit the house, and head north into the huge
piece of land you fought King Bulbin on. This is essentially Eldin Province's
Hyrule Field. Once you get out here, the postman will stop you again for
another letter. This one's from Malo about his new store: Kakariko Goods. We've
already been there, anyway. :P

Search around the darker ground near the entrance to find the Male Grasshopper!
Let's find his mate. Go to the northeastern side of this area, and around that
general area should be the Female Grasshopper. Now, head to the Bridge of Eldin
on the south side. Right where the arch is, look left and up, and you should
see another Golden Bug. Use the Gale Boomerang to snatch this Male Phasmid.
Cross the bridge to the other side, and look at the west cliff. You should see
another Golden Bug high on the cliff, so use the Golden Bug to get this Female
Phasmid. Now head back to Kakariko, into the graveyard. On the southwestern
side, you should see two torches. Light them both to make a treasure chest
appear. Open it for 50 Rupees! Yay. Head to Kakariko Gorge next. Head to the
very west of this side of the bridge, where a few trees, tall grass, and
flowers are. You should see a Golden Bug crawling around, which is actually a
Female Pill Bug! Now cross the bridge, and right nearby on your left, you
should see the Male Pill Bug. Finally, go back to Kakariko, and head up Death
Mountain Trail. Yep, it's time.

Out of the Frying Pan...

Time to head up Death Mountain Trail again. Climb up the barricade like before,
and when the Goron starts charging, put on your Iron Boots. (Best to put them
on a D-Pad direction) when the prompt on the bottom of the screen appears, hold
A. When Link grabs ahold of the Goron, push left or right to shove the Goron
out of the way. Now you're going to have to do this alot, as a bunch of Gorons
will come rolling down the trail. Just do the same thing (though only have them
on when taking care of a Goron. Keeping them on all the time will make it very
long and tedious to get to the top.) Just go up the trail until you reach the
base of Death Mountain. Along the way, where all the geysers are, you'll come
across some Bulbin Archers shooting flaming arrows. Just try to block them as
you head up.

Once up here, you'll see one Goron launching another one up. This is the key to
climbing up. Drop down, and dodge some falling rocks until a HUGE rock of
molten lava comes crashing down. This is more than a sign of danger, this large
rock will prove to be useful later. Get up to one of the Gorons here. Instead
of them rolling at you, they'll try to do some boxing moves on you. Block their
attacks with your Hylian Shield, then when they're stunned from the block,
slash them and they will curl up. Do this with one of them, and when he's
curled up, hop on him. See the ledge above? Hold forward, and the Goron will
launch you up there. Holding forward just makes sure you get up there.

Head to your right now, and launch up using the same technique against another
Goron. Launch up with the next Goron, and continue up the path. You should see
a geyser on the wall, endlessly spewing steam, which blocks your way. How to
get across? Simple. Use the Iron Boots. Continue up, and prepare to take care
of some rolling Gorons when you reach a rocky arch. Keep going up, spring up
with the Gorons, then head inside, making sure you already have your Iron Boots
on. Some Gorons will try to roll up to you, but someone will yell "ENOUGH!"
Gor Coron, the leader of the Goron tribe, is impressed you made it this far,
but requests a wrestling match with you. If you win, he'll gain your trust and
tell you of their problem. Alright, this is what you've been training with Bo
for. Make sure you have the Iron Boots on, because if you don't, one attack
from Gor Coron can knock you completely off the ring! There's not much I can
tell you here, except that it's harder than the training you've undergone with
Mayor Bo. When you win (Yes, when. I have faith in you. =D) Gor Coron will tell
you of their plight, that the mines have become infiltrated with evil creatures
and that one of their higher-ups became evil. He will then allow you access to
the Goron Mines. Before doing that, let's open up some shortcuts to up here,
shall we? Yes, that's always good.

If you head back to the exit, a Goron will call you and say to use the elevator
so you don't have to go down so far. Get inside the elevator and step on the
button with your Iron Boots. Once down here, look around up here for a stone
with some markings on it. Get on its north side (you can take off your Iron
Boots) and pull it (hold A and push back on the Control Stick) to reveal a
passage to the Goron Hot Springs! These springs can refill your life if you
stay in them! There's also a shop here. This place sells Milk, Wooden Shields,
Lantern Oil, and Arrows (which you can't buy yet because you don't have a Bow)
Buy some stuff, or keep this place in mind, and head back to the elevator area.
Once inside, drop down and you'll find another rock with some markings on it.
Get on its west side and pull it, and you'll find that the passage this
revealed actually takes you close to Death Mountain's base! Quite the shortcut
there. Take the elevator back up, and enter the Goron Mines.

----------------------------------
GORON MINES
No. of Floors: 2
No. of Treasure Chests: 17
Total Rupees Found: 280
Major Item Found: Hero's Bow

~~ PRE-DUNGEON NOTES: The first time you enter the Goron Mines, you are unable
to get a treasure chest. This treasure chest holds 50 Rupees, and can be
reached with the Clawshot, which you don't have yet. I will not list this
treasure chest in this respect, and will instead talk about getting this chest
when you do get the Clawshot. So in essence, you only need to worry about being
able to collect 230 Rupees in average right now. ~~

Drop down from here, and start crossing this pit of lava. You can hop across
platforms with any path, just be careful of the lava jets. At the other side,
continue through the scaffolding, and slash the wooden blockades away. Once you
slash away the second blockade, you'll come to a large flamethrower. Go back
and use the Iron Boots on the switch nearby, which will briefly stop the
flamethrower. Cross it, and do the same for the other switch to briefly turn
off the flamethrower up ahead. Quickly get to it, make a U-turn, and climb up
the ladder before it turns on. Be careful of the Fire Toadpolis too. To damage
a Fire Toadpoli, just reflect its lava projectile back with the Shield Attack.

On top of the iron scaffolding, head south until you come to a gap. Judge your
jump depending on where the Torch Slug is so you won't get knocked off, then
open the chest for 20 Rupees. Jump back across, and jump across the platforms
heading to the ledge on the east. Now, we can jump south to the switch to
temporarily deactivate the flamethrower way up ahead, but there's a bit of a
problem: Torch Slugs. They'll fall from the ceiling and likely knock you off,
so eliminate them first. If you think you're fast enough to avoid them though,
go ahead. Either way, get past the flamethrower quickly so you can get to the
north end of the room. Now, see the platform sticking out of the little
structure here? Jump on it, then put on the Iron Boots. This will lower the
platform to the ground, unlocking the way forward. Kill the nearby Torch Slugs
if you wish.

In this next, multi-leveled room, head up, and when you get to a junction, go
left. At the bottom, kill the Bulbin Infantry and open the chest for a Small
Key. Head back to the junction and take the next path, which is straight ahead
from the left path. When jumping across platforms, make sure that the platforms
fully rotate before jumping, as you don't want to fall down to the lava. At the
top, unlock the locked door with that Small Key you just got. Follow the path
here to the floor in this next room, where you'll encounter your first Dodongo.
Unfortunately you can't bomb them yet, so instead wait until they breathe fire,
then side-dash to their weakness: their tails. You can tell its their weakness
because the tail is red instead of green, but anywho...

After taking care of this Dodongo, jump across platforms to the west metal
ledge, where you must face yet another Dodongo. Dispatch it, then cross
platforms over lava to the east side again, except on the north side of the
center structure? Get me? Anyway, kill the Dodongo here, then grab that chain.
Pulling this will remove the blockade in the center structure, allowing you to
continue, but over time, the blockade will close up again, so pull it as far as
you can, then quickly jump to the west ledge, then jump inside the structure.
You may have to roll past it. Head to the next room.

Holy crud, it's like we're in a totally different dungeon! No lava, no sign of
heat, in fact there's some nice cool water here. Man... Walk to the water and
dive in. You can't swim to the other side, so put on your Iron Boots and walk
through the opening in the gate. Watch your air meter! If it empties, you'll
drown. Walk onto the switch here, and a magnetic force will be activated,
pulling you up out of the water, and onto a magnetic ceiling! Yep, you're now
upside down. Walk around to the top and take off your Iron Boots, then head
through the door.

You're now in a shrine room of one of the elderly Gorons. Head forward and talk
to Gor Amoto, who will talk to you for a bit and give you the Big Key! Well...
at least one piece of it anyway. We need two other Big Key pieces, which the
other Goron elders have. Open the two chests here for a Dungeon Map and a red
Rupee, then climb up to the second level. Walk around, and you'll see another
moving pot. Pick it up to find Ooccoo! Now you can exit this dungeon whenever
you want until it's conquered. Anyway, head through the door.

You're now on the second floor of the previous room, with magnetic walls on
both sides and a Torch Slug on each side as well. Well, take either path, and
walk to the other side. Keep in mind you can still attack with the Iron Boots
on! Head through the door on the other side to appear on top of that central
structure we went into before! Use the Iron Boots on the switch ahead to create
a magnetic force to pull you to the ceiling! I think it's safe to say NOT to
take off your Iron Boots at any time unless it's safe. We can get something
else while up here as well, so...see the northwestern corner of the room? Try
to walk over there and drop to the platform below amidst the maze. Once here,
open the chest for a Piece of Heart! (Pieces of Heart: 7 of 45) Now proceed to
walk along the ceiling with the Iron Boots over to the upper door on the west
side to get to a higher part of the multi-leveled room.

Walk down the path here and take care of the Bulbin Infantry. Walk around until
you see the switch, and stomp on it with the Iron Boots to activate a magnetic
crane. As you can see, it'll move from an outlet on this level, to the junction
we got to before, which is on the south end of the room, to another platform,
north of here. So, take the north platform. You should know how to "hitch a
ride" on these cranes, right? Since they have a powerful magnetic pull, just
have the Iron Boots on when one passes over you to latch on to them. Anyway,
from the north platform, head up, and take care of two Bulbin Infantrymen, and
a Fire Keese that may try to annoy you. Use the Iron Boots on the switch to
activate another magnetic crane. This will take you to another ledge a bit
higher up. Take out the Bulbins, and head through the door. We're officially on
the second floor of the dungeon now.

We're in yet another water-filled room that looks totally different from the
rest of the dungeon. Anyway, you'll come across your first Tektites. These can
skim along water despite their size, but are quite stupid. They will just hop
to you with no regard for their safety, so in actuality these things don't have
any real attacks. Eliminate them all, then start looking around down in the
crystal clear water. Do you see a treasure chest? If so, head over to it while
wearing the Iron Boots and open it to get a Small Key. Resurface, and swim over
to the caged area in the southeast corner. Walk through the opening in the gate
where the block is using the Iron Boots (the crate is just ajar enough to let
you through) and get to land. Climb up to the switch and use the Iron Boots to
create a magnetic force nearby. Walk over to it to get pulled to the ceiling,
provided you still have the Iron Boots. Walk north and drop down to the over-
hang.

Walk to the switch to activate a magnetic force that, when you get to it, will
pull you to the magnetic wall on the opposite side of the room. So you need to
drop to this force, but you can't jump far enough with those Iron Boots. What
to do? Jump off, and then immediately put on your Iron Boots. You should get
caught and be pulled to the wall. Walk to the platform on the northwest side,
and drop. Open the chest for 20 Rupees, then slash the crystal. A cutscene will
show a gate opening below briefly. Just stay here, and wait for the gate to
close again. The unneeded cutscene caused wasted time. Slash the crystal again
then drop down and go through the gate.

Up ahead, you'll see two Beamos and have to fight two Bulbins. These Beamos
spin around, and if their red eye spots you, they will shoot a relentless laser
at you. There's nothing you can do to these Beamos right now, so take care of
the Bulbins and walk up the magnetic walls. Go to the southeast corner in this
small section of room to find a treasure chest. Open it for a Piece of Heart!
(Pieces of Heart: 8 of 45) Now head to the northeast section. Up here, slash
the rope to make a bridge fall down. Drop down to the bridge, and unlock the
locked door here. You're now in a large room with Bulbin Archers on the far
north. Follow the path north, slashing wooden barricades, and when you get to
the second junction drop down to the water below and swim to the northwest
corner down here. See the caged-in treasure chest? Sink down with the Iron
Boots, walk to the weak barricade and slash it, then open the chest for 50
Rupees. Now quickly surface and find a ladder that'll take you back to the path
above.

Go east as far as you can to get to a secluded area with a Beamos (!) and a
treasure chest. Open the chest for a Small Key, and hightail it out of there
before you get hit by the Beamos. Now head to the west from here and go through
the locked door. We can't hit those Bulbin Archers yet, so try to hide from
them. Head through the aforementioned door into the Mine Reservoir, a place
with a large body of water below.

Hop across the spinning platform up here, then get to a huge one. See the
magnetic tiles on this platform? Get to them and put on your Iron Boots so that
you'll stay on the platform when it rotates. Continue without the Iron Boots
and get to another magnetic tile when you're back upright. Once on the other
side, go through the door. You're now in the shrine of another Goron elder,
Gor Ebizo. Talk to him to get the second Big Key piece, then open the chest
here for 10 Rupees. Climb up to the second level here and go around to the door
up here to return to an upper level of the Mine Reservoir.

Simply use the Iron Boots and walk along the magnetic walls over to the next
door, but before heading in, open the nearby chest for 10 Rupees. Walk over to
the large, ominous platform...

----------
MINI-BOSS: Dangoro

Gor Ebizo said earlier that you can just talk to the guard and he'll let you
take the treasure needed to clear this dungeon...This is the guard, but he
won't let you have the treasure so easily! This battle takes place on a tilting
platform floating on a large pit of lava. The floor is magnetized, so you'll
have to use the Iron Boots to stay on. Dangoro will continuously block your
attacks, and his only unprotected area is his stomach. To hit that part, block
his attacks, and wait until he raises his arms up for a big attack. When that
happens, he'll leave his belly vulnerable, so go in and slash that part.

After some slashes (it's good to finish with a spin attack after a combo)
Dangoro will roll into a ball and attempt to run you over. Remember how you
dealt with the rolling Gorons before at Death Mountain Trail? Do the exact same
thing here but make sure he lands in the lava. He will then hop back onto the
stage. Throw him into the lava twice more using the same method and he will
give up.
----------

Head through the south door to come to a small room with a chest containing the
fabled treasure: the Hero's Bow! Now you have a much better projectile weapon
than that Slingshot. This controls exactly the same, so fire an arrow at the
rope above to cut it and make a bridge drop. Head south to the next section of
this room. Take care of the Torch Slug that drops down. Now, you're in a room
with lots of Beamos. They aren't active though, so head forward to one blocking
your path. Now they'll all activate! Not to worry though, your new Hero's Bow
works wonders against them. Just hit their eyes to shatter them and permanently
disable them. Now, pull the east Beamos out, and go behind it to find a chest.
Open it for this dungeon's Compass! Alright. Now, pull the west Beamos out to
find a door behind it. Go through it.

You're now in another Goron elder's shrine. Talk to Gor Liggs here to get the
final piece, open the chest for 50 Rupees, then exit to the Beamos room. Pull
the southern Beamos out and head through that door to continue. Head over to
the unstable gate and ram into it to knock it down. Now jump across these
platforms, being careful of Dodongos and Torch Slugs. Better yet, it's best if
you take care of the Torch Slugs with arrows. Once on the other side, use the
Iron Boots on the switch to get sucked to the ceiling. Walk to the center, get
rid of the Dodongo, then use your Bow to hit a crystal in an alcove, opening
the gate below. Drop and head through the door behind the gate.

You're now at the highest part of the multi-leveled room. Go to your right and
jump across to the chest. Open it for 50 Rupees, then go left from the door.
Shoot arrows at the rope holding the bridge up to cut them and lower the
bridge, then walk across. Use the Iron Boots on the switch to activate another
magnetic crane. Have it take you to the north ledge and head through the door.
You're back in a previous room, except there's some Water Toadpolis instead of
Tektites. Deal with these the same way as with Fire Toadpolis. Hop across the
platforms, hit the crystal on the high ledge on the left with an arrow, and
head through the door. You can hit the Beamos' here for kicks if you wish.

In this large room, you'll be assaulted by tons of Bulbin Archers. Time to put
that Bow to use. Pick them all off, including the leader, then head to where
the Beamos is. Disable it by shooting an arrow at its eye, then pull it out to
open a path. Go up it, and some more Archers will attack. See the barrel next
to them? That is explosive, so fire an arrow at it to kill the Archers. Now
continue on, and you'll find a switch. Press it with the Iron Boots to turn on
a magnetic crane. Hop down from here, then put your Iron Boots on. The crane
will pick you up and carry you to some rope. Cut the rope with an arrow to make
a bridge lower. Drop to the bridge when you get the chance, then head through
the door. You can head to the northwestern dirt area and smash pots to find a
Fairy to bottle, if you might need one.

In this next room, some Bulbin Archers will attack, so pick them off, then
climb down to the other Bulbins. Dispatch them, then cut the rope holding the
bridge ahead to lower it. Head through to come to a whole army of Bulbins! Take
care of these guys (might take some time) then head to the large door. This is
it...

----------
BOSS: Twilit Igniter, Fyrus

This is what Darbus, patriarch of the Goron tribe has become because of that
cursed twilight power. It's best to try to stay away from him, because if you
get too close, he'll send out a fire wave that can damage you. To damage this
guy, fire an arrow at that shining gem you see on his forehead and he will be
stunned. Use this chance to go to one of his chains, grab one, and put the Iron
Boots on. Pull the chain enough and Fyrus will fall on his stomach. Drop the
chain, take off your Iron Boots, and go to his head. Slash the gem as much as
you can. Repeat twice more to burn out Fyrus!
----------

You now have the second piece of Fused Shadows! Midna will create a warp, and
the bug that was in Fyrus will exit him, die, and be turned back into Darbus.
You can talk to him if you wish, but grab the Heart Container before you leave.
You'll be prompted to save again. Afterwards, the light spirit Eldin will tell
Link that north of here, past the great bridge, is the land of Lanayru, where
the last light spirit is. Afterwards, Colin will talk to you and tell you to
save Ilia.

A Watery Grave

Now, you're probably filled with Rupees because of that venture we had in the
Goron Mines, huh? Or at least close to it. Well, let's offload some Rupees on
a few items, shall we? Head towards the Bomb Shop, since Barnes has some bombs
available now. Along the way you'll come across a Goron who will offer to
launch you up to the hot springs above the Elde Inn. There's not much you can
do up here, but you can bottle up some nice Hot Springwater. While it's warm,
it can heal all of your hearts and briefly boost your attack power. Nice! It
only stays warm for a day though. Anyway, head inside the bomb shop and buy the
premium package. With the premium package, you can get a Bomb Bag, included
with some Bombs, for only 120 Rupees! Go ahead and buy it. Now that you have
bombs, you can blow up some crap! Also, if you go to your items screen, you can
combine Bombs to your Arrows by pressing Z when you want a little more kick in
your arrows. While you're here, head up to the second floor and take the exit
up here. Head all the way to the lookout shack. Talk to the Goron and let him
spring you up to the top, where Talo is. He'll see your new Hero's Bow, and so
will want to test your archery skills. Agree to the test.

You'll appear back on the thoroughfare of the village, Bow in hand, and a
target ahead. From where you are, fire an arrow at the target. Then, fire at
the next target further down. Then, Talo will tell you to hit the pole where
he's standing. THAT tiny little thing?? ...Alright... Take care in your aim,
and fire. It may take several turns, but consider yourself lucky if you get it
the first time. Malo will then be impressed by your skills, and give you a
Piece of Heart as a reward! (Pieces of Heart: 9 of 45) Now...

Head back inside Malo Mart, as there's a new exclusive item available there:
the Hawkeye. This allows you to zoom in on targets so you'll be able to fire
arrows at long distance with pinpoint accuracy. Well dang, that would've been
useful for that archery test, huh? Oh well. You won't be using the Hawkeye for
much anyway, but it's good to have around. (NOTE: Before you ask, no, this item
is not available until after you finish the archery test. Yes, I've tried
getting it before that.) Now for some Rupees. Head inside the Elde Inn and find
a treasure chest containing a red Rupee. Now, see the weak wall to the south,
beside the spirit spring? Bomb that wall to reveal a cave, where some Cuccos
are hiding. Grab one, then head up the ramp near Malo Mart, and make your way
up to the hot springs.

From here, glide over to the top of the bomb shop, then walk up to the lookout
shack. See the ledge with the treasure chest? Jump off and fly to that ledge
with the Cucco, making sure you're hugging the wall of the shack. If you hug
the wall of the shack, you'll be able to land on a rough part of the ledge
where you won't slide off. Get rid of the Cucco and open the chest for an
Orange Rupee, which is worth 100 Rupees! Alright, now to get something more
worthwhile. Head back to where you bombed that wall, and head through. Go
through the tunnel here, and you'll appear at a deep end of the spirit spring.
Dive in, and put on your Iron Boots. Open the chest down here to get your 10th
Piece of Heart! Hooray for another Heart Container! (Pieces of Heart: 10 of 45)
Now surface quickly. Now head back to land.

Now hold up. Before going anywhere, face the tunnel you blew up earlier, and
look up. You should see some rocks. Combine your Bombs and Arrows, and fire a
Bomb Arrow at the rocks to blow them up, revealing ANOTHER Piece of Heart. Use
the Gale Boomerang to retrieve this one. (Pieces of Heart: 11 of 45) We're not
done collecting Heart Pieces! Head up Death Mountain Trail next. When you get
to the 2nd Goron, have him launch you up to the cliff side up here. From up
here, continue towards Goron Village. You should come to an opening in the wall
on your right about the time you see a child Goron playing on a small ledge.
Drop through the opening and open the chest for another Heart Piece. (Pieces of
Heart: 12 of 45) Head back to Kakariko Village.

Take your horse, and leap over the gate to get to the north Eldin region of
Hyrule Field. The Postman should stop you and give you 1 or 2 letters when you
get here. (2 letters is more likely, especially if you used Ooccoo in the Goron
Mines) Anyway, see the rocks on your left up ahead? Bomb them, then climb up to
the ledge behind them. Follow the ledge here, climb up the vines, then jump to
the overhanging rock. Use a bomb arrow to clear the rock up ahead, then jump to
the vines. Climb up, then drop down some ledges until you see a treasure chest.
Open it for a Heart Piece. (Pieces of Heart: 13 of 45) Now take your horse, and
ride to Kakariko Gorge. (If you wait 'til night, you can go to Kakariko Village
then and buy some Blue Potion from the child Goron who has a night-time shop
built here for 100 Rupees.)

Once at the gorge, cross the bridge, then head south. Around the wall here is
a weak wall. Bomb it, get your Lantern ready, and head inside.

----------------------------------
MINI-DUNGEON #1
Treasures Found: Chu Jelly, Red Rupee, Purple Rupee, Piece of Heart

Alright, head forward, Lantern in hand, and take a right at the first fork.
Eliminate the Deku Baba, and take another right. Eliminate the Baba and you'll
get to a dead-end with a Yellow Chu. These weird amorphous creatures just move
along the ground and occasionally hop. When you kill one, it leaves its remains
for a brief time. You can scoop up the remains with a bottle. Each color Chu
leaves behind different remains, which does different stuff. With Yellow Chus,
their remains act as Lantern fuel, so you might want to bottle some just in
case.

Head back to the second junction and take the left path (facing north), and
burn the cobweb. Kill the Skulltula, and take the red Rupee from the chest. Now
head back to the very first junction and take the left path (facing north).
Kill Keese and burn cobwebs until you get to a room with two Tektites and a
torch. Light the torch so you don't have to waste Lantern fuel. Don't go north
here, as it leads to a dead-end with two rats. Instead, head west. When you get
to a junction, go left and burn the cobwebs. Light the torch and put away your
Lantern, and dispose of the Skulltula. Open the chest for 50 Rupees, then head
left when you get back to the junction.

When you get to another junction, just go left. The right path has an Imp Poe
that we can't defeat yet. More on Imp Poes later. At the end of this path, you
will find a Skulltula. Defeat it, then light the two torches to make a treasure
chest appear. Open it to get a Piece of Heart! (Pieces of Heart: 14 of 45) Now
just backtrack to the exit.
----------------------------------

Now, ride Epona north, through Kakariko Village, through Hyrule Field, and
across the Bridge of Eldin. Defeat any Kargaroks that may catch up with you
when you hop off, and go to the rocks and bomb them. A warp portal will open up
and warp away part of the Bridge of Eldin, and some Shadow Beasts will appear
on the bridge. Well, it seems we're trapped...Go back to the bridge and fight
the Beasts. This may be a little harder with normal Link, as he doesn't have an
attack that can wipe out every nearby enemy with a single strike. Just spam the
Spin Attack and keep fighting them until they're all gone to make available
another warp spot. (useful for transporting that piece of the Eldin Bridge when
it comes time)

Get back on your horse and continue past the rocks you blew up. Follow this
path, going across the wooden bridge, until you get to the curtain of twilight
covering the Lanayru Province...it's time. Have Midna take you to...the
Twilight Zone. LOL. Um...yeah. Ehehe. >_>;

Head forward, killing Shadow Keese, until you come to a...purse? Go to it and
sniff it, and you'll be reminded of Ilia. Forget the Youths' Scent and learn
Ilia's Scent! Now, put on your sense view and follow the scent trail, ignoring
the other enemies. You'll soon reach an area of Hyrule Field, right behind the
Castle of Hyrule. We're almost there! Keep following the scent, and either
stopping to kill the Shadow Bulbin Archers and Shadow Kargaroks, or just
ignoring them. Either way, follow the scent to another area. Welcome to yet
another part of Hyrule Field! Follow the scent, killing or ignoring enemies on
the way, and you'll soon be in Hyrule Castle Town. Woah, lots of people here.
They can't see you though...

Follow the scent some more, and you'll see it stops at...a Medical Clinic? Oh
boy...the scent continues from here though, and this seems to be stronger
(bigger trail) so we must be near! Follow the new trail and you'll go through
the market, and down to a secluded spot. The scent ends at a door held ajar...
push it open and head through. It seems you're in a bar, but no time for jolly
and drinks now. Turn on your sense view and you'll find Ilia taking care of a
young Zora who seems to be in bad health. Telma, the owner of the bar, (and
quite well-endowed, I must admi--wait, why the hell am I talking about that?)
will wonder if this young Zora being ill (who's a prince) is related to the
incident the soldiers talking about. Hmm...

See the soldiers in the back room? Listening in on their conversation will let
you know of "the incident," and looking at the map, you can see a red mark on
it. That's where we have to go. The red mark is now on your map, so that you
won't forget. Now, all the entrances are blocked off to the rest of Hyrule
Field except the one you came in, so...exit that way. Once back at the field,
look along the east cliff. There's a path on the south end of this field, and
a path in the middle. Don't bother with the south path, it leads nowhere as of
now. As of now, head down the middle path. You'll come to a fork in the road.
Well, there's boulders blocking the left path, so it seems we have to go right.
You also have to take care of some enemies, as well.

You'll head to a larger field now. Wow, how huge is Hyrule, anyway? There's
another long bridge, and a huge lake belo--wait, where IS the lake? It's
drained, with only a small pool at the bottom. There must be something bad
going down there. At any rate, head to the bridge. Hm...there's something weird
on the bridge. Even Midna notices that something smells weird. You'll see a
Bulbin Archer fire flaming arrows on both sides of the bridge...oh no. The
weird stuff on the bridge is gasoline! You're trapped on the bridge, with fire
coming in at a fast rate! The only way we can get out of here is if we jump...
off....the...bridge.... Damn. I guess that's your only choice, climb on the
nearby crate and leap off the bridge...

You'll land in what little water Lake Hylia has left...well that was lucky. Get
on shore and you'll see some Zora spirits. Head up to that house there, and you
will see the spirit of Fyer, the clown. Listen to what he's saying and he's
complaining that the lake is drained, ruining his grand opening of his
attraction. He then sees a Bulbin and is frightened by it. Hm... Head to the
Bulbin. The Shadow Bulbin will go to some grass, and call a Shadow Carrier
Kargarok.

----------
BOSS: Shadow Carrier Kargarok

Alright, expect a quite annoying boss. The flaming arrows that the Bulbin
riding the Kargarok does a half heart, and if you let the Kargarok grab you
with its talons, it will throw you to the ground, causing a whole heart of
damage. With the attacks covered, just target the Kargarok, and dodge the
arrows, and when the Kargarok gets in range, use the jump attack to latch on to
it and press A repeatedly to bite the hell out of the Kargarok. Reminded of the
Shadow Beasts when doing this? I thought so.

Repeat this process until the Bulbin riding the Kargarok gets knocked off. Go
to the Bulbin and... FINISH HIM!
----------

Midna will then tame the Kargarok and have you take a ride up Zora's River with
the Carrier Kargarok. Alright, you now have to control the Kargarok as it flies
up the Zora River. You'll have to avoid lots of crap, such as obstacles and
enemies, by aiming with your Wii Remote. Where-ever you aim, the Kargarok will
fly. Throughout this flight, you have to deal with Shadow Bulbin Archers firing
bomb arrows at various pillars and the like to try to knock you off the
Kargarok. Pressing A can make the Kargarok fly a bit faster for a couple of
seconds. Just fly through, avoiding the Archers and debris as much as possible,
ALWAYS keeping a watchful eye, and you should make it to the other side with
no trouble.

You can "talk" to Iza here if you want (She's the sister to Hena and Coro, so
they're related. Who's Hena? Well, you'll find out soon.) but you'll have to
hop down to the frozen riverbed. Continue east along it and you'll come across
to Zora's Village, all frozen over. Well, it seems history repeats itself, eh?
(Ocarina of Time) Head north, and you should find a snowy ramp. Get on it, then
use Midna to hop up small pillars to a little ledge. Follow it east, bite away
the ice shard that falls down, then use Midna to hop across some ledges. Be
careful here, as some ice shards will come crashing down, so wait for them to
fall before jumping ahead. Keep going up (you may be interrupted by Wolf Link
almost not making it by sliding to the ledge and holding on with his paws, so
pull yourself up and continue) At the top, continue north into the Royal Zora
Chambers.

Go forward and fight some more Shadow Beasts. This might be a pain in the tail
to accomplish, as there are some more walls that could hinder your energy field
attack. When you down them all, yep, that's right, another warp portal appears.
After a few seconds, Midna tells you to look down with your sense view. Do so
and you'll see ALL the Zoras down in the frozen ice. Damn, that looks creepy.
Midna tells us that we need to melt the ice in this place somehow. Wait, wasn't
there a giant molten shard in Death Mountain? Yeah, we could use that! Warp
over to there, and have Midna warp you and the shard back to Zora's Domain. The
shard will crash through the ice, and its heat will melt all the ice, allowing
the river to flow freely again! Now, when we get back to Lake Hylia, we'll find
that it's back to its old self again! Attempt to exit and someone will stop
you. (!! I thought we were invisible to everyone...) Wolf Link will turn
around, finding the spirit of Rutela. She thanks you for saving her race and
for restoring the river back to normal. She was executed by the dark ones, and
she sent her son, the Zora, Prince Ralis, to warn Princess Zelda, but Ralis has
grown ill. Rutela says that if help young Ralis, she'll give you protection of
water. Hm, that sounds good. At any rate, head back to Lake Hylia.

When you jump from the waterfall, you'll soon experience that the flow of water
is still strong, and will be swept away. Wolf Link will then later wake up at
the entrance to the spirit spring. Head inside, talk to light spirit Lanayru,
and you will be given one last Vessel of Light. Let's search for those
insects. As soon as you exit, you'll see the energy discharge of one flee up
the wooden bridge. Follow it, and when you get to the grassy area, put on sense
view and kill it. (1 Tear) Now continue along past the next wooden bridge, and
you'll be closed in. It's time to fight some more Beasts! These guys like to
stay as far away as possible, so get rid of one, then trick the other two to
get near each other. Once these are down, another warp portal will appear. Now,
see the number of platforms along the south of here? Go up the grassy ramp here
then jump south to a platform, then leap to the next platform on your right.
Climb up to find another insect. Kill it then get back to where you killed
the Beasts. (2 Tears)

Go a bit north to find another wooden bridge. Follow it to Fyer's attraction.
There's a insect bothering this place, so look around and you should find it
flying around. (3 Tears) There's one last insect here. See that one on the
far west? Yep. Backtrack to the spirit spring then swim across the chain of
islands to the west to get to the shore where this insect is. This one is
flying. (4 Tears) Now, see the nearby grass? Midna points it out, that it was
used to call that Carrier Kargarok. Go to the grass, and press A. Howl the tune
shown, and the Kargarok will appear. Time to go back up Zora's River!

It's basically the same as last time, except with water and four Shadow Insects
to kill! (These are bigger, and you automatically get the Tears, so you won't
have to worry about collecting them.) To kill the Insects, simply dash into
them. Try to get all four and then get to the other side of the river. (8
Tears) (Lock-on to the insects to make it easier, as when locked-on, when you
dash, the Kargarok will automatically try to hit the insect.) "Talk" to Iza
here and a insect will come out. Take out the insect (9 Tears) then cross the
river here. Find a Howling Stone, and howl the tune it plays. Once you do,
you'll be taken to a realm with the Golden Wolf. Howl the song again and the
Golden Wolf will appear on a platform just outside of the castle of Hyrule. At
any rate, drop down, go across the bridge here and "talk" to the Zora spirits
here. They're looking for Prince Ralis, and they both will hop down and swim
into the tunnel with torches. That tunnel will take us out of Lake Hylia, near
Hyrule Castle, but remember that for later. Head east into Zora's Domain.

Head along the piece of land here, and hop up with Midna until you get under a
waterfall. Head south and west from it to find a treasure chest with a red
Rupee. Head back and continue climbing up. When you get to a point where the
camera faces some platforms and you can see a path ahead of Wolf Link, head
down the path instead of continuing. Jump to this path here, and head south
down it until you see a flying insect. (10 Tears) Now, look down to the bottom
of the waterfall. See the number of platforms in the water? Jump down and swim
over there and you'll find two more insects. It may be slightly difficult here,
so time your attacks right. (12 Tears) Now, over to the west, you should see a
piece of land. Get on it, and find another insect scuttling around here. (13
Tears) If you climb up this, you can find a small chest at the top containing a
yellow Rupee. Now, proceed to climb up this place like you did before, and when
you get to that place I told you to go down a path instead of jumping the
platforms, jump the platforms and get to the top. Head into the royal chambers.

See the white dot on your mini-map? Head over there, and ram into the wall to
knock down another insect. (14 Tears) Two more...they must be somewhere else
in the Lanayru Province. Look at your map...hm, there's one all the way back in
Hyrule Castle Town? It may seem like a long journey, but remember that tunnel
those Zoras took? Go back there and take that tunnel, and you will appear at
the reservoir of Hyrule Castle. Exit on either side, and start heading to the
Castle Town. If you forgot how to, just follow Ilia's Scent. Just before you
enter however, some Shadow Beasts will trap you in. You know the drill. After
creating the portal, head inside the town, and head over to the alley where you
found Telma's Bar. Up on one of the ledges, you can see some crates. Break
them, and you'll find a insect. (15 Tears) Wait..there's one more. Midna will
notice that and then look at your map. She spots another insect at Lake Hylia.
How could we miss that? Warp over there, and swim over to where the white dot
is...there's something huge over there...and to make it even more ominous it's
thundering and lightning over here.

----------
BOSS: Shadow Insect, Bloat

Well...this was unexpected. The last insect has grown to monstrous proportion
