[:. A. Zoids Versus II General :.]

Zoids Versus II was released on September 5th, 2003 in Japan. Some places
received it earlier though. The game combines elements of an Action/RPG
game, you are in a zoid and you must defeat others before losing. You
can collect different parts and upgrades for your zoid to make it the
best in the business! Since the last Zoids Versus, Tomy has fixed many things.
Not near as many glitches, the controls are better, more zoids, a harder AI,
so many new things, that this almost deserves to be called a different Zoids
game!

The game is very fun, and I haven't stopped playing yet.

   {:. a2. FAQ .:}

1) What are the pilot commands?

Using the d-pad here are the commands:
up - attack enemy you currently have a lock-on
down - guard (fall back)
left - execute long distance attacks
right - execute short range/ grapple attacks

2) What's the thing on the left side of the HP bar (aka: Why is my zoid not
moving properly?!)?

That is your damage marker for your zoid. The middle is your body, top head
left and right are your front and back legs. Green is normal, green is light
damage, red is heavy damage. The following is a description of what happens
to each part should you become heavily damaged:
Head- difficulty walking and running straight
Front Legs - manuverability is reduced
Back Legs - speed is reduced
Body - option guage's recovery time is slower

3) What is EX?

This is the zoid's special attack, and can only be used when 30% of your HP
is lost. When the EX is flashing ,you are able to use it. It will replenish
itself, so don't worry about only having one chance. Each zoid has a
different EX, but zoids that are from the same line (ex. Iron Kong and Iron
Kong PK) have the same EX.

4) What are the pilots in this game?

You start out with:
Bit
Rinon
Barado(Brad?)
Ban & Fine 2
Irvine
Toma
Moonbey
Jamie

The following pilots are who you can unlock when you clear the Battle Mode
and Mission mode:

New Century           Zoids                 ZVI&II (+SAGA characters)
Harry                Rob Haman              Atore           Libaius
Vega                  Raven 2                Regina         Viper
Jack                   Hiltz                    Blood         Empire Operator
Leon                  Leeze                   Fran           Republic Operator
Naomi                Schubaltz                 Zam           Empire Pilot A & B
Marry                  Rosso                  Teeta         Republic Pilot A & B
Chris                    Viola                  Arban               Shoma
Kirkland                Proitzen                 Max                Kouki
Stora                Ban & Fine 1         Raina                  Rayka
Pierce              Raven 1                    Claudia                Zell
Fooma                                          Gauldo         Yuno
Lineback                                         Lazar

5) What are the zoids in this game?

Certain zoids you get when you either clear the Republic Mission Mode,
Empire Mission Mode and the Battle Mode.
The list will be added shortly.

6) How do I get the Desert Liger DCS-J?

You can only get the Desert Liger DCS-J if you are using a memory card with
ZVI memory on it.

7) Why isn't my money transfered over from ZVI?

It's not really transferred. When you're in the shop, the zoids will have a
price appear in the bottom left side. If you press "Z" and then look at the
upper right of the opened screen, you'll notice that the price has been
reduced. This only happens if you are using a memory card with ZVI memory in
it. The larger zoids that are new in ZVII do not have reduced prices. You
also receive 1,000,000 BP instead of the initial 30,000 BP

8) Do I need to have ZV I to get the Desert Liger DCS-J , discount and
1,000,000 BP?

Yes.

9) I've defeted all the zoids in mission #__, why are they still coming/
isn't the game over?

The game will only end if one of 3 things happen. 1) you complete the
mission, 2) the time runs out, 3) you give up.
If you find yourself alone and there is still time on the clock ,then you
haven't completed the mission yet.
In the map info, the number of zoids it shows, is what you face first. You
usually face twice that amount. If you destroy one zoid, prepare for another
to appear.
Play around with different zoids, weapons, options and sub-parts to help
you.

10) Can I play as a boss?

Yes you can, but only if you unlock it.

11) Why don't I have this zoid in my garage/ shop?

You either can't read Japanese and skimmed past it or probably didn't unlock
it. In case of the latter, did you finish either or both Mission Modes? Did
you finish all 3 Battle Modes?

12) What is an Ultra Z and what does it do?

This enhances your zoid by raising the following stats:
SP +15
DP +100
Grapple +50
Weapon +50
Manuverability +30
Field Map radar +120
Search radar +400
Weight +0

13) Is this a 4 player game?

No.

14) What is Fist Mode?

It's basically Zoids Sumo. You can either force the opponent out of the ring
or destroy him/her. Knocking out is more challenging. You can choose between
9 rings: flat pan, parasol, doughnut, doughnut hole, saucer, saucer hole,
pot, pot hole and tornado.

15) Can I do damage with my E Shield?

Yes.

16) Are there flying zoids?

Yes, and no. The flying zoids don't really fly, they more like hover.

17) Is this game in English?

Mission Mode is not in English. However the title screen, weapons, and some
parts in the garage are. Zoid and pilot names as well as stats are not.

18) What are the letters next to some of the zoids?

Some zoids are upgrade versions of ther normal types or pilot specified/
special (ex; Rinon Special =RS). The letters signify what kind of upgrade or
what pilot's zoid.
Some pilots have similar initials, so you need to know from the anime or
previous games whose zoid is whose. Ex; SS= Shubaltz Special/ Specified
(Iron Kong SS and Saber Tiger SS) or Stora Special/ Specified (Elephander
SS).

19) I can't read Japanese. Should I still get this game?

This shouldn't affect your skills as a Zoids Pilot, it doesn't effect mine. So yes;
get the game.

20) Is this game online?

No.

21) How many zoids are in the game?

Many many.

22) Is (insert zoid here) in the game?

Check the Zoids List please, if it's not there, then no.

23) Can this play on my American Gamecube or my European Gamecube?

No. You will need a japanese gamecube or a Freeloader/Action Replay to play.
There is rumor that this game is coming out in America though.

24) Where can I get this awesome game?
Online. You can search ebay for it, or buy it at an online-store. I recommend
japanvideogames.com or play-asia.com

   {:. a3. Tricks .:}

   The Gliding Trick:
With the hovering zoids (and the molga), running off a
cliff/hill/small building will in you gliding away. Which is nice.
Using the boost will let you cover more ground, and if you come up
to an obstacle, jump over it as you would normally, otherwise you will
just stop. This applies to obstacles far beneath you as well!
Good places to do this are the snowy level (fly off hill
and jump over near wall to evade enemy) and any level with a
shear cliff-face (you can actually push up the cliffs if you find
the right spot and persevere with different routes).

   The EX and Option Trick:
So, you can't use your option while your EX attack is activated. Wrong? Well,
no, not really. But if you hold down Z before you let rip with the EX, It'll
turn on while the Attack is in motion. E.g: using the shield with any charging
EX will result in a little more damage caused when you plough through the enemy.
Using boosters while using a stationary attack like any of the CPC's will allow
you to rotate the zoid (and thus the charged particle beam) significantly
faster. Also, shields don't recognize CPC's as attacks, so have your's on while
shooting your CPC will give you a bit of much needed defense, as you are pretty
vulnerable at that point - especially if you miss! Another good one is
depositing a land mine in the smoking debris of your foe, post EX
(if they're behind you ie: you've charged through them). If you're lucky, It'll
blow up as (/if) they recover. Even if it doesn't, It'll give them a reason to
    run away instead of retaliating!

   The Death and Option Trick:
The same applies to when you're about to die. Hold Z down as the final blow
is struck and, well, ya know. Not much point to this but hey, I'm in charge
    here!

   LandMine, CPC Trick:
Want an easy way to get over 15,000 every battle? Well first off, you need
an Ultra Sub Z, or I would recommend at least one. Now buy a Berserk Fury, or
Storm Fury. Equip it with a land mine and go into battle. When the battle
starts then stand still and let your land mine fill up. Once it does use it
and run into it, doing damage to yourself! Now continue that until you have
your special up. Now use your special and if done correctly, once you kill your
opponents then you should get more money than usual. It works great on the Death
Saurer if you don't have a partner. I've gotten 30k once!

   No Partner Trick:
Your partner is probably the most dang annoying thing out there. Well why not
get rid of him? All you have to do is when you are selecting you and your
partner's pilot, select yours, and hit b when it goes to your partner's. It should
say NO ENTRY beneath it. This gets you more money and adds some more fun to
    the game.

There are lot’s of ways to beat this level, you can either go after the Saber
Tiger and then the Sinkers(the original 3 not the regenerated ones) or you
can forget about the Saber Tiger and go after all 6 of the Sinkers. Either
way the strategy is pretty much the same. Use your WEAPON BINDER
on you enemies, but when they come in close use you physical combo to
knock them down and run to a safe distance so you can for your WEAPON
BINDER again. If they come in to close and you can’t use your physical

accompanied by 2 Sinkers and finally the last Molga. If they get to
close to the Hover Cargo or you, attack with you physical combo.
Only use the shield to block the Molga’s missle, they do a lot of

Keep firing at them both in till they are defeated, and make sure you
use your shield if their missles are heading toward you. After you

finish the first one off the second one should be coming towards you.
Just do the same thing you did for the first Elephander and you’ll be fine.
You should only really get hit by 2-3 stray missles.

and start back stepping in the direction you just came from. If he gets to
close then use your shield to knock him down and run to a safe location, then
continue to fire your LR-RIFLE which should knock him down and finish
him off. Now do the same thing to the other Iron Kong, if it comes to it

MISSION: DESTROY ENEMY ZOIDS- Rev Raptor x4, Geno Breaker x1
First go after the Rev Raptor and leave the G.Breaker for last.
You'll want to use your C-stick a lot in this stage since it will help
you keep up with the enemy. Go after the Rev Raptor the north/west of
your stating position, if you lose sight of him go after the Rev Raptor
at the center of the stage. Use your B-CANNON S on the Raptors since
it's more accurate on small fast moving Zoids. The Raptors most likely
won't attack you and they will try to run away so it'll be easy to
pick them off one by one. Now that your done with that try to find
the G.Breaker and lead him to an open area. He should put his shield
up and try to ram you so you should switch to the LR-RIFLE A and
shoot his shield. When it's down shoot him three times then attack
with a Physical combo. When he gets up ram him with YOUR shield.
Repeat until he's been destroyed.

x5First go after the two gun turrets to your left and right. Use your
WEAPON BINDER on the Sinkers while keeping a safe distance to the
D.Stinger. Try to get far enough away so you can still hit the D.Stinger
with your WEAPON BINDER but close enough so you won't miss the Sinkers.
Attack any turrets that shoot at you, they can become a problem later.
You'll most likely end up destroying all the turrets but don't go
looking for them, you'll stumble on then eventually. When it's just
you, your partner and the D.Stinger switch to your LR PL-RIFLE and
strafe around the D.Stinger firing at it, make sure you don't miss
cause you don't want to run out of ammo. When the D.Stinger starts to
charge it's CPC put some space between the two of you and switch to your
WEAPON BINDER and target lock. Don't stop firing in till the D.Stinger
starts to move again. Repeat in till the Death Stinger is destroyed.
