I cant find yellow pikmin because in the forest im in is too big and full of monsters.
You just need a force of like 50 red pikmin to beat all the monsters. When you leave the landing site just turn right and follow that path. Destroy the gates and activate the onion. You don't even have to destroy all the monsters to get it.

statusJust like Smash Cube said break the gates down but if you don't want to lose any pikmin then just run to the onion yourself.
