Mario Kart: Double Dash!!

Asked on: 11/7 5:44PMA team I used on yoshi circuit in the tunnel had a blue shell an not hit by it. I would like to know why and if it is not a glitch then who else will it work for? The team used was baby mario (driver) and King Boo (item user) in the bowser kart

Actually it was in a versus race between me and my brother and while i was in the tunnel he saw it go on and on until it self-destructed not hitting anyone

statusBlue Shells happen to miss sometimes. When you get a boost from drifting right before the blue shell attacks you, it misses. When you have a star on, the blue shell would miss too. Some blue shells miss when you use a mushroom as well.
If another kart is near you in first, it may lock onto them instead of you. This lock-on occurs well before it actually hits. As far as I know, mushrooms and driftboosts won't save you from Blue Shells. Sometimes if you're over the edge of a course, the blue shell will hit you without doing anything.
This sounds like it was probably a hitzone glitch. The game probably read your position as being off the edge and the blue shell hit without actually making impact.
