Well, you can fish and sell the fish to Van, you can go to the Dig by the waterfall and dig for stuff and sell them to Van, you can get products from your animals and sell them to Van (good milk from cows sell for 300+), and if you have stuff in your rucksack that you need to get rid of and Van isn't there, take all the tools and things you DON'T want to sell out of your rucksack, and go to where Van usually sets up shop, and when your A button says "Sell", you can set up shop. People will walk by, and look at things and buy them. While your shop is open, you can also show people things that you want to sell, and they might buy them. If you sell them to Van though, you get more money. I just wait for Van. Hope this helps!

This is a really easy way to make money, I have 62 1870G and im in summer of Chapter 2... Befriend Ruby(You know if they're your friend if they turn their head when you walk by) and get the Ruby Spice (enter the Inner Inn kitchen when shes in there). Okay, heres where the cheat comes in...
1. Go to your kitchen
2. Select a dish (salad, soup...)
3. Choose one Ruby Spice
4. Press Start
5. Put the newly created Ruby Spice into your bag
6. Repeat step 1-5

P.S. Always keep a spare Ruby Spice in your shelf, fridge, or food storage...or all of them(keep in mind Murry can steal from your food storage)
P.P.S. these sell for 100G each, so make 99 and you will get 9900

do not plant crops but immediatly when you buy the game buy some, not a lot, of good fodder. feed it to your cow and she will give qualityS milk. this sells for 150g. so, do the math, van comes in five days, get about 6 milks a day and BAM! you have 4,500g! thank ya, thank ya very much. kepp rockin harvest moon players!

I haven't played the game for a while, but you can eventually get a Seedmaker from Takakura. He will mention it to you and you can buy it from the Order form. You can put some crops in and it will make a bunch of duplicate seeds. When you sell them to Van, you can make a lot of money off of them.
