There is no place in the game where you can get in but cannot get out. Without knowing your exact location and upgrade level, I can't offer any specific advice, but there are some general tips. Look for doors and Morph Ball paths, use your different visors (especially the scan visor, which can hint at the right course of action), and experiment with the area until you find something.
