Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles

Each race has a top skill the others don't look up a walkthrough for the game and then scroll down to where you can see what skill each one has. It could be higher defense, speed, attack and stuff like that. I couldn't decide to I ended up created 8 different characters lol

Clavats have average abilities all around, and have the best defense of all the races.
Lilties have the highest attack power, but they have very poor magic power and casting time.
Yukes have the highest magic power and fastest casting time, but poor attack and charge speed.
Selkies are similar to clavats, but they have less defense potential, in trade for the fastest charge attack.
Some equipment can only be equipped by certain races, and there is never equipment you'd be missing out on by picking a certain race.

There you have it! Straight from the official Nintendo Power guide. It's really your choice of best tribe. If you like melee, I suggest Clavats. If you like ranged/magic, I suggest Selkie. But like I said, it's your choice. Lilties are good too, but i just used my Clavat more. I never really cared for the Yukes though.

Erm... Just to clarify on the equipment comment someone else made. Only certain classes can use certain accessories, and only Clavats can use the best armor in the game (Gaia Armor).

I happen to like the Clavats, because it's easy to pass through the game if you have a good defense stat. I really only used magic when it came to curing and revealing the undead with holy, so my second choice is definitely Lilties. The good thing about Crystal Chronicles is the variety allows you to choose really specifically, and if you aren't happy you can just make a new character.

clavats are the best in terms of stats, they are unmatched in Defense, which in the best stat, because you will lose less hearts, there Attack and Magic are average, but none of there stats are really bad, although there Attack and Magic may be average, its still enough to easily handle most enemies and bosses, also clavats are the only race that has an armor(gaia plate) and shield(chocobo shield) with a maximum stat greater than the diamond ones that all the others races can get...

I'm just relieved to hear that you can make a new character if you are unhappy with the current one. I can be really indecisive about things, mainly a character for an rpg game like this. So ummm thnx i guess. ^_^
