The Incredibles

"A Pretty Good Game"
Well, another Disney/Pixar Game hit the shelves not too long after the movie with the same name came out. Being a fan of the Incredibles I decided to add this game to my collection and I wasn't disappointed.
Game Play 7/10 Even though on the back of the box it says you can play as everybody, you spend more than half of the game as Mr. Incredible, 10 of 18 levels, which isn't a bad thing. With his super strength, you can destroy just about everything, which is a lot of fun. The Elasta Girl levels are okay. Elasta Girl uses her stretching abilities to hit enemies at a distances for 4 levels. The 2 Dash levels are my favorite, you race around the stage at high speeds avoiding everything. The worst and most boring level is "Violet's Crossing". You have to hide and run, no shields and staying invisible takes charging up. But, there is also an incredi-ball level which is pretty fun. There are plenty of puzzles which can get annoying when you solve the puzzle, then get killed and you have to start all over again. But, this stops the game from being too short unlike many of today's GameCube games. It leaves a that old N64 style of puzzles & fighting you'd expect in a Disney game.
Graphics 7/10 The graphics are well done. In the first stage "Bank Heist" the programmers did an excellent job with the city buildings, they look great, but after that the graphics only decrease in glory. The plants in the jungle and the water are satisfactory for the Gamecube. The enemies look like they're out of the movie, but all of Bomb Voyage's henchmen have a heavy french accent.
Sound 8/10 The lines are all clear and sometimes funny, especially Frozon, even though you can't play him he narrates the pause menu. The music is fine for the game.
Story Line 8/10 The game is supposed to follow a similar story to that of the movie, filling in a lot of the gaps. Unfortunately, like many movies made into a game the movie clips are misused for the game. You wouldn't know unless you saw the film, which was very funny so I suggest you see it.
Replay Value 5/10: There isn't a multiplayer mode so there isn't any reason to replay the game except to collect all of the art work pieces. Also, there is an unlimited enemy arena you can unlock to brush up on your fighting skills. Personally, I replay the Dash levels because I liked them so much. Also, there are quite a few cheat codes, you should check them out if get a hold of this game.
Conclusion: This game is a lot of fun. Even with the difficult parts I enjoyed it. Plus, you could get it used for less than $20. Like some one on Game Faqs said you should get an hour for every dollar, which seems pretty accurate when you think about it. But, if you've got time you could rent the game and beat it in 15 hours.
