Rampage: Total Destruction
Review by _Bigdub_
"Back in the day when I was young I'm not a kid anymore but somedays I sit and wish I was a kid again..."
Ever wanted to relive your child-hood? Now you can with Rampage Total Destruction. It brings back the classic arcade game with a 3D feel. As an added bonus it includes the Arcade game itself and Rampage World Tour.
Storyline
Scum labs is putting a new product out for consumers. Too bad whoever drinks it will turn into a monster that will rampage through the city. This game has a simple storyline, but it is effective and is a go lead into the game, and that is what you want for this kind of game.

Gameplay
The object of the game is to totally destroy everything. Simple enough, but you have armies and S.W.A.T trying to stop you from doing it. There are four modes to play. Campaign, King of the City, King of the World, and Timed run. Like every other game Campaign is the heart of the game. Your goal is to destroy the cities in the game. Along the way there will be challenges that you can complete to upgrade your characters. It is not necessary to complete the challenges but I suggest that you do. This mode also lets you unlock new characters in it. King of the City is a mode where players compete to cause the most destruction to each city block. The winner is the player with the most points. King of the world is like King of the city but instead of just destroying a block you challenge to see who can destroy the most cities. And time run is just that, a timed attack on a city. This game is fun for one player, but it really shines when you have friends playing with you.

Sound
The sound in this game is great. You hear people screaming, things blowing up, planes flying over head, everything you could want. This game has a very comedic tone to it. Quotes like "everytime I come to this city giant monsters are here" It might not be exactly the right quote but hey, close enough. All in all the sound is great in this game and it will have you laughing for a long time with its sayings.

Controls
This is the part where it is not so great. It takes time to learn how to swat planes down, or to pick up people to eat. The reason for that is because the game has a 3-D area around it, but there are no shadows or anything to indicate where the planes are around you. You could jump up and think your hitting a plane but miss badly and get killed by the missiles they are shooting at you. Eating people can also be difficult for the same reason. It is hard to judge where they are. In the background or the foreground.

Graphics
The much needed upgrade of the main characters were a great addition to this game. They added great details into the buildings and the monsters themselves. Some business buildings have computers right next to the windows. Large bright signs on the Vagas strip. Logos on the soda machines. They put a lot of detail into the small things in this game. That is what makes the graphics so good, the little things. The only draw back is that with so many monsters there are so few animations for them eating or destroying buildings. Most of the animation is rehashed from one character to another.
7/10
Overall this is a get together game. Its fun to see who can destroy what the fastest. It is also a good way to take out your frustrations on something if you are mad. Plus with King of the World or King of the City there could be hours of gameplay right there. But the best thing about this is that it has a $20 price tag on it. So if you were a fan of the old arcade rampage and feel like destroying something without using guns, then this is the game for you.
